iphone 6s, wifi/4g draining battery. Posted: 13 Jan 2018 07:23 PM PST Hello, so this problem didn't happen until I moved to Japan in september. So back in america, I could be on wifi basically foreverrr and my battery would be fine. But now, usually from 9 AM until around 12:10 PM, my battery is usually at 70% or lower. This is from just listening to music, using facebook messenger, line, and wechat. Just messaging people. But, if I don't text anyone and have the wifi and cellular data turned off, then I'm easily above 95% until I get home around 3 PM. Why is the wifi/4g draining the battery so much? And when looking up answers online people are saying "do not turn off your wifi/cell data, it's just a myth" but like, it's not a myth. Is there anything that can be done about it that any of you know of? And preferrably not factory reset, becaaause I don't wanna have to redownload all my music and photos. (I have over 1,500 photos since coming to japan, and about 30 gb of music) Thanks for readin' [link] [comments] |
Transfer photo between iPhones Posted: 13 Jan 2018 08:28 PM PST I have a lot of pictures on my old iPhone and too cheap to pay for iCloud service so I don't backup the photos. I'm now using my new phone and everything is great except I want to have my pictures on it. Is there a way to "drag and drop" from one iPhone to another if I plug both into the same computer? AirDrop doesn't function very well for thousands of pictures. iTunes seems to be able to backup my old phone and restore, but since I've been using my new phone for a few months now, I don't want the rest of my settings to be reverted to old settings. What I should've done is to do this to a computer when I switched to the new phone, but alas I didn't. When I googled about this issue I mainly get various different apps that wants $$ and think their app is the best way for doing this. Not sure which one to trust Please help. [link] [comments] |
Just bought an external hard drive... this is probably a dumb question: Posted: 13 Jan 2018 08:07 PM PST Bought an external hard drive because I'm almost at full space on my Mac. Basically I just want to take a large amount of my pictures/videos and transfer them somewhere else in case my computer crashes. I thought it'd be similar to a flash drive in that I'd drag and drop what I want to save but when I connected the device, it appears to have saved basically my entire computer. And when I do try to drag and drop one picture to save, I get an error message ("could not write file to destination (1016)"). When I open Photos Library from the backup, the following message pops up: "Nothing to import. None of these files can be imported into your Photos library." I can see all the pictures/videos when clicking "ok" but am not sure if that's because they're on my computer already. Maybe a dumb question and likely information overload, but I need to be absolutely certain before I delete a bunch of these pictures off my computer as they're priceless pictures of my kids growing up. Thanks! [link] [comments] |

What is this crap and why does it seem to be happening more and more often? Posted: 13 Jan 2018 04:02 PM PST So this has been happening more and more often across the net and I don't know why it's happening on seemingly safe websites or sites I wouldn't think would have this kind of adware crap. Posted: 13 Jan 2018 09:43 PM PST Hey guys, I am going to buy an iMac for school, but I do casual gaming. Would the Radeon Pro 570 be sufficient for 1080p gaming for the likes of PUBG or CSGO? Or should I opt higher for the 580 if the performance is that much better [link] [comments] |
Posted: 13 Jan 2018 09:12 PM PST This started around 2 weeks ago. At the beginning the screen just blacks out upon pressing the power key, and I had to restart it after 10 secs, but today it got stuck on a striped white screen (very glitchy-looking) Also, sometimes videos stop playing and my MacBook stops making sound. I have to restart the computer to get rid of this condition. Can someone help me with the issue here? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 13 Jan 2018 11:39 AM PST I think this subreddit is the best place to ask that kind of question, so here I am. Hey, I'm Android user and im really tired of my Samsung Galaxy S5 Neo so i thought about changing to an Apple device. I heard a lot of good things about Iphone SE, also I like the way that phone looks. Ofc screen wont be as big as Samsung S5 Neo screen but it is not a problem for me. Though, I'm not sure if SE will be good after all these years. Im worried that two years from now, this phone will be really bad in overall performance. So am I right? Or maybe the phone will work just fine? I would really like to know the anwser... (btw. sorry for my english it is not my native language) [link] [comments] |

Is there a way to sort playlists on Itunes for Android? Posted: 13 Jan 2018 12:46 PM PST I can't seem to find a way to sort my playlists by artist or song on my Itunes app (Android device). It's currently sorted by date added with newest songs going to the bottom, which is frustrating. [link] [comments] |

Updating firmware on an old apple time capsule Posted: 13 Jan 2018 12:13 PM PST Hi all - Have a late 2011 macbook pro. El Capitan - 10.11.6. Replaced the original hard drive with a SSD a few years ago. Just moved into a new apartment with a new internet connection. Trying to use my dad's old Apple Time Capsule as a wireless router. When I open it in Airport Utility, I get this image: Using what I'm pretty sure is the original Apple Time Capsule - A1254, 500GB. It doesn't offer me any options... can't click further, no option click, anything. Does anyone know how to update the firmware on this old guy? I don't have a wifi connection here yet (was going to use the Time Capsule as the router, so...) Thanks for any help! Cheers. [link] [comments] |
iPhone 6s is disabled and I can't connect it to Itunes Posted: 13 Jan 2018 07:03 AM PST So one day I was playing music off of my iPhone 6s (IOS 11). I went upstairs and ate my lunch. When I went back into my room, the iPhone was disabled (I don't think anybody disabled it for me, but that is another story) I tried to connect it to Itunes 12.7.2.60 on my laptop, but all I get is a 0xE error. I checked the whole internet and tried everything, but it still didn't work, so I connected my Ipad to see what will happen. So I plugged it in, and I had to confirm this laptop as trustworthy.
But I can't confirm my laptop as trustworthy if I can't unlock it since it is disabled. Help!
(If any terms are wrong it is because my mobile is in German) [link] [comments] |

Macbook pro two monitor extended display help Posted: 13 Jan 2018 06:37 PM PST My Macbook has 1 thunderbolt, 2 usb, and 1 firewire. I was wondering how I would best be able to connect two external (not mirrored) monitors. Any help is appreciated. [link] [comments] |
Sync music to iPhone from different computer? Posted: 13 Jan 2018 05:29 PM PST I have 2 macs that I use. Is there any way after an iPhone is setup and synced with one computer to add music from my other mac? I don't always have one of the macs around so having to wait to get around it any time I want to add music is a pain or create any playlists or anything(unless I do it right on the phone). My phone is not set up to automatically sync music its set up to manually add it if that makes a difference. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 13 Jan 2018 05:21 PM PST So I'm needing to replace my hard drive and figured I'd upgrade to an SSD so I'm looking for some suggestions for SSD's my budget is under $200 currently. Also I'm wondering where could I pick up a Pentalobe screwdriver besides amazon? Was hoping I can find it locally since I'm impatient and would like to get my Mac running again. I have a 2012 MacBook Pro Retina [link] [comments] |
Macbook Air volume "locked" and won't change Posted: 13 Jan 2018 04:31 PM PST For the past few days, my volume keys have been "locked" and unable to change the volume. I've googled various solutions and they've included plugging in headphones, writing a command on Terminal, etc. and nothing has worked. There's no red light coming from the headphones jack, and there's simply nothing listed under "outputs" in system preferences. [link] [comments] |
Reddit is using lots of CPU and heating my MacBook Pro up Posted: 13 Jan 2018 03:35 PM PST It seems that after the latest update to 10.13.2 anytime I have a reddit window or two open things heat up really quick. I'll find the CPU% for Reddit super high and my temps hitting 170+ according to SMC Fan Control. Before I could easily have tons of reddit tabs open no problem, but now 2 or 3 of them set off the CPU and temps. Any ideas? Late 2011 17" MBP - 2.5 GHz i7 - 16gb ram [link] [comments] |

Posted: 13 Jan 2018 03:02 PM PST The native weather widget is still available and the app opens when I search for it through Siri or the search menu. When I search the App Store for it, I see the app but it shows "Open" and not "Download". Does anyone know how to make it reappear? [link] [comments] |
Deleted an album from my iPod, and now I can't add it back Posted: 13 Jan 2018 02:04 PM PST I modified some track names on one of my albums in iTunes, and then I deleted the album off my iPod with the intention of adding it back via iTunes so I could have the updated track names. Well, when I dragged the album over to my iPod, it only copied the tracks with the updated names! Now, I cannot add the missing tracks to my iPod. I even deleted and re-imported the album in iTunes, and it still will only copy over those updated tracks. How can I fix this? I want the whole album on my iPod, can anyone help? I wish iTunes didn't do stupid stuff like this, it really makes me want to move to another platform. [link] [comments] |
Shared calendar events in maps widget Posted: 13 Jan 2018 02:02 PM PST I have a problem with shared calendar events showing up in the maps destinations widget (and the maps app) even though the shared calendar is turned off, as are shared calendar notifications (both in settings-notifications and the calendar app). This is especially annoying as I have an app for my car which seems to pull the same data from somewhere, so the shared calendar event appears in my car's navigation system. I can't delete the calendar as I need occasional access. I'm on the latest iOS 11.2.2 on an iPhone SE. I've tried removing and re-adding the widget and re-starting with home and lock button depressed., to no avail. I'm tearing my hair out trying to get rid of these events. All help gratefully received! Edit: I should have said this is someone else's calendar. [link] [comments] |
