| Posted: 23 Jan 2018 08:02 PM PST All of a sudden the Hulu app no longer seems to be working. Did the normal trouble shooting, force quit the app, restart Apple TV, uninstall/reinstall Hulu. Just getting the spinning circle. All my other apps seem to work just fine. For reference this is 32gb 4K ATV. [link] [comments]  | ||

I've been fairly happy with the fact that I can stream Netflix and Hulu etc. in bed but as of tonight my remote has not been working. I've restarted my Apple TV, unplugged it a could times and yet nothing. My remote makes the sounds of changing but does nothing on screen. I've had to resort to moving deviced around the house and using my Xbox for Hulu tonight. Suggestions? [link] [comments]  | ||

| Posted: 23 Jan 2018 11:59 AM PST I used to be able to airplay videos from my iPhone and iPad to my ATV, mainly through sites like YesMovie or KissCartoon. However, for the last month or so, these movie will play fine on my ios device but when I got to airplay, my apple tv says "An error occurred loading this content." On the odd occasion, it will work if I use the openload server, but like I said that's rare. All of my devices are up to date, and I have tried restarting multiple times. Anybody else having trouble? Posted: 23 Jan 2018 03:40 PM PST I realize that plex player is still a hot mess where direct play or direct stream of 4k is concerned, and I'm thinking of getting an AppleTV 4k. For 4k content, do mrmc or infuse handle things like truehd 7.1 audio and HDR? My plex server falls right over when I ask it to transcode 7.1, so I can't play files that only have this audio type. I know the shieldtv can handle everything as long as I use the right client, but I already have the android TV interface on my sony and I definitely prefer the apple TV. | Why not so many games for Apple TV 4K? Posted: 23 Jan 2018 08:00 AM PST So many cool games only for iOS, but not for tvOS. Why? I'm really can't understand, because for example Apple TV 4K (2017) having iPad Pro processor Fusion A10X and 3GB RAm, which is faster than Bionic A11 in iPhones 8/X. | Posted: 23 Jan 2018 05:57 AM PST Hi all, first time in the forums here. I'm running into an odd ATV4K/LG OLED issue and am hoping I can find some help here. Has anyone seen the issue below? I recently installed an Apple TV 4K. It was working fine for about a week until I tried out a few new hdmi cables to get a better picture. Dissatisfied with the new hdmi cables, I returned all cables to their previous configuration. Now I have an issue: When deep color is turned on, the LG OLED65B7A shows no signal (regardless of what format the Apple TV pushes to the tv). When deep color is turned off, the Apple TV is visible and can push up to 4K HDR @ 60Hz with 4:2:0 subsampling. The issue is, whenever the ATV 4K switches to an HDR format, the TV automatically switches to deep color and loses the signal. CEC is off on both devices (OLED was turning on unnecessary equipment, very annoying). Issue happens with match content on and off. I would like both deep color and HDR on my TV but would also like to just use my TV again. Please help. Update: Factory resetting the ATV4K fixed this issue. I originally reset the TV but the issue persisted. Resetting display settings on the ATV didn't fix it either. No changes to hardware made between not working and working again. | Apple TV 4K Siri Remote battery life dying quickly? Posted: 23 Jan 2018 03:33 PM PST My Apple TV 4K Siri remote (White ring) battery life is really bad and has been requiring a charge every 1-2 weeks since I got it. That's awful compared to my ATV4 Siri remote which lasts months on end and only required 2 charges since I got it in August 2017. I spoke to Apple Support and they immediately sent me a replacement remote. Just got the new remote today so I'll be charging it to 100% and see how long it lasts. Does any body else experience this? The remote worked great on the 4th Gen ATV but the battery life for the 4K remote is horrible. [link] [comments]  | ||

| Extremely disappointed in lack of 24hz on the 4th gen Posted: 23 Jan 2018 01:08 PM PST I am an Apple fan both of their products and their corporate vision. But I know one thing people malign them for is withholding features on products, this is an example of that. It Is beyond irritating that there is no 24hz support on the 4th gen Apple TV. There is zero hardware limitation, it doesn't take much. I've purchased a separate mini pc for "movie nights" just to play a film properly. I have no interest in 4K. I have one of the last plasmas calibrated and it will be a long time until it dies. With the profits that Apple takes in I cannot understand the reasoning in a move like this for what I assume is a low tier product division. Anyways just had to vent. [link] [comments]  | ||
| After all these years viewing slideshows still disappointing Posted: 23 Jan 2018 12:12 PM PST I remember years ago you used to be able to play music when viewing a slideshow on AppleTV. Yesterday I couldn't find that option anymore, and my slideshow sucked and I was a big loser. Slideshows need music! Only the "Memories" that Photos app generates seem to have their own random music. While we are talking about slideshows, the slideshow screensaver seems to have been broken since 2010. I see threads on Apple Discussions complaining that only a small set of photos repeats and new photos don't show up. 8 years later and I have never seen this issue addressed. It existed when I used to use home sharing to share photos from my mac, and it exists today using iCloud photo sharing. Sometimes I see one or two new photos but then they quickly disappear forever and the same set from about 7 years ago plays over and over... How can Apple let this fly after so many iterations of the AppleTV OS? [link] [comments]  | ||
