TV app showing nothing except Library movies. Posted: 10 Jan 2018 06:15 PM PST I'm a brand new Apple TV 4K owner and it's been great except for the fact that my TV app shows nothing under every tab except Library. My TV app works perfectly on my iPhone and iPad still. Any suggestions? Thanks. [link] [comments]
Posted: 10 Jan 2018 07:23 PM PST I'm trying to move from my Fire TV to my 4th gen ATV, but I can't deal with the Siri remote. I've got a cheap IR on order, but ideally I'd like to find another bluetooth remote that still has all the buttons of the Siri remote (except for siri, don't use that), but has a nice set of directional buttons in place of the touchpad. Anything out there? [link] [comments]
Mysterious Contradictory Netflix Error Posted: 10 Jan 2018 05:42 PM PST I consider my-self somewhat tech savvy, and can usually fix lots of things, but for the life of me I haven't been able to figure this one out and would really appreciate any help. I have done heaps of searching for solutions, but can't seem to find other people who have the same contradictory situation. For the past 2 months, Netflix on our 2nd Gen Apple TV or Xbox One repeatedly shows "an error occurred loading this content". To clarify, we can load the menus no problem, but actually playing something gets the error message. I have searched high and low for a solution. I have power-cycled and reset every possible device, ensured all firmware is up to date. This is very confusing to me because I can't seem to figure out what the actual problem is. It doesn't seem to be a network/internet issue at all, as Stan, Youtube, iTunes and other streaming services work perfectly fine on all devices in the house, even the ones where Netflix is not working. It doesn't seem to be an account issue at all, as Netflix is working perfectly fine on many other devices in the house, just not the Xbox One and the 2nd Gen Apple TV. Why these two devices are not working I do not know. Furthermore, we can log into the Netflix app and navigate menus on these devices too, but we cannot play any content. There had been no changes made in the past few days before this started, and everything was working perfectly before then. It has just suddenly stopped. Since many other more straight-forward attempts, I have tried proxy servers, changing the DNS servers, updating all imaginable firmwares. Nothing seems to help. Does any body have any idea or solution as to what has possibly gone wrong? Any help much appreciated EDIT: Extra information - To eliminate my home network as a problem, I have tried creating a wifi-hotspot using my phone's mobile data connection (that is, a completely different wifi router and a completely different ISP). The connection strength was sufficiently strong enough to stream iTunes, YouTube and Stan at very high quality, however, I still had exactly the same issue with Netflix, which strongly leads me to believe this is something wrong with either the Netflix app (on both the XBox One and Apple TV 2nd Generation) or simultaneously the XBox One and the Apple TV 2nd Generation. Apps compatible with The TV app Posted: 10 Jan 2018 09:18 PM PST Does anyone know if there's a list with all the Apple TV apps that can connect with the TV app? Right now I have Comedy Central, Crunchyroll, CW Seed, ESPN, Hulu, Prime Video and The CW. [link] [comments]
apple tv vs other streaming services Posted: 10 Jan 2018 11:59 AM PST can someone explain why an apple tv at 140 dollars is better than a chrome cast or roku stick that are a fraction of the price? i'm invested in the apple ecosystem but am curious why the apple tv is so much more expensive [link] [comments]
Turn on TV and Sony Soundbar with Apple TV? Posted: 10 Jan 2018 05:54 AM PST I have my Apple TV set up to turn my Sony TV on whenever the Apple TV is turned on, and my volume controls work on my Apple TV remote when controlling volume on my soundbar, but is there any way to set up my sound bar to power on with the Apple TV remote? EDIT: I discovered my sound bar is not HDCP 2.2 compatible, so my question is pointless now. I'll either have to turn my sound bar on separately or replace it with a newer version that is compatible since it won't support 4K HDR anyway. [link] [comments] |
