Will This Battery Fit My MacBook Pro Early 2011? Posted: 31 Jan 2018 08:40 PM PST As the title says, I have a Macbook Pro Early 2011 13inch that i bought used, but the battery is no bueno. It only lasts me an hour and I would like to upgrade it, but I don't have a lot of money to spend. I found this battery for quite cheap on eBay and wanted to know if it will fit and work: [link] [comments] |
Posted: 31 Jan 2018 04:35 PM PST This has been an ongoing problem but gets worse with every update. Editing in Photo is slower than molasses. Retouch tool doesn't work most of the time. Am I the only one? [link] [comments] |

Does my iMac late 2013 27 inch have an HDD or SSD? Also what about my iPhone 7 Plus? Posted: 31 Jan 2018 10:18 PM PST I'm selling both of these and want to wipe them as best as humanly possible because I had so much data on these two things. I used the secure erase command and overwritten 7 times for the iMac, it is an HDD right? Also what do I do about the iPhone, does "erase all content and settings" overwrite the data? Posted: 31 Jan 2018 03:47 PM PST Hi peeps. I am having a problem with my new MacBook Pro. The spotlight shortcut, I guess is lagging. First time I press cmd+space, it does not come up. I have to press the shortcut twice. After have pressed it twice, then it works as normal, every time I try to do the shortcut. The problem is, however, if I don't use the shortcut in 5mins, the shortcut lags again. It creates the problem that, when I think I am typing in the spotlight, I am typing in my Latex document, which can fudge up my code, and it may be hard to find "where" I miss wrote. Does anyone have a fix for this? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 31 Jan 2018 09:35 PM PST I recently started using my iPhone 5s again. I discovered that it was still on 11.0.2. Is it recommended to stay on this version, or should I update to the newest version? I'm not really scared about the Spectre breach, and I am fairly satisfied with the performance of 11.0.2. 'System' taking up 73 GB of storage Posted: 31 Jan 2018 05:46 PM PST Is there any way to fix this and have it not use a majority of the storage? On MacBook Air, running Version 10.13.1 Os High Sierra. Thanks. [link] [comments] |
Can I create multiple Apple IDs on one device? Posted: 31 Jan 2018 09:10 PM PST I am trying to create multiple Apple accounts for all my family members on my phone. Because I have children through, I have set some accounts as free with no CC info. The App Store itself claims that my Apple ID has been locked for security reasons, and to try again in 24 hours. My question is, can I create multiple accounts, or does Apple recognize these as fake? [link] [comments] |
MacBook Pro continuously booting to install macOS screen. Posted: 31 Jan 2018 08:55 PM PST Hey all, My 2010 MacBook Pro (yeah it's old but it's done me nothing but good), running High Sierra, today started only booting to the install macOS screen. It boot straight to a loading bar after logging in saying "installing to Macintosh HD". It says it's got about 42 minutes left every time. I've tried rebooting and clearing pram, but it just boots to here every time. When I help option when restarting the only option was install macOS. There's nothing I'd be heartbroken over losing just annoyed mostly. Any help is much appreciated. Thank you in advance. P.S. sorry for bad formatting currently on mobile. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 31 Jan 2018 08:29 PM PST I'm planning to swap an SSD into my Late 2011 Macbook Pro running OS X 10.13.3 soon. I already keep Time Machine backups of it and will definitely be restoring the new SSD from a backup after I install it. My question is, does the backup include OS X and eliminate the need to install it separately or will I still need to install it before restoring? [link] [comments] |
[Question] iPhone 5 10.3.3 & iPhone 6 11.3 beta Posted: 31 Jan 2018 08:03 PM PST Hello Apple Help! I will apologize in advance if this has been asked before. I'm sure a majority of you are feeling the struggles of iOS 11. Obviously I won't find out unless I try, but to save myself the disappointment, I wanted to know if I were to do a full back up of my iPhone 5 thru iTunes, then restore my iPhone 6 from the full back up done on the 5... would that install iOS 10 on the 6 or would it just install 11.2.5 and move over documents only from the 5 backup? Thanks again. [link] [comments] |
Purchased Music won’t play on iPhone 8 Posted: 31 Jan 2018 07:47 PM PST Instead of playing, I get a splash screen for Apple Music saying: "Play this and any other song you want. Join to listen to millions of songs and your entire music library on all your devices." I know I've purchased it, and it isn't one album affected. It's many of them. I'm currently on 11.2.5. Does anyone know how to fix this? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 31 Jan 2018 07:36 PM PST Hello people. I'll make it short. I can't download any apps from the app store because it requires me to put my credit card info and I only have a gift card which only has a dollar or two. Because of that it keeps declining my card but im not trying to purchasr anything and I don't see why that is necessary. Any help is appreciated, thanks. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 31 Jan 2018 03:45 PM PST I have an iMac that I had accidentally messed up the OS on, and now I cannot get OSX back at all. Internet recovery isn't there, I can't do anything. I've tried everything. Trust me. So will a trip to an Apple store help? I've read online that they will repair OS for free if you bring it in. I just want to use my mac again. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 31 Jan 2018 03:43 PM PST Got a new one two weeks ago, it's currently on 11.2.5. Takes forever to load a site or download things. I turned my phone on and off again, unplugged my router, reset the network, didn't help. Also turned off mobile data to see if wlan even works at all and it does, kind off. It has it's rare moments were everything works fine for a minute before it slows down to a crawl again. All my other devices work fine. Not sure what else I could try since I'm a total tech noob and google hasn't given me any useful tip yet, but maybe I'm not googling right. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 31 Jan 2018 07:26 PM PST Trying to get my GIF collection up to what it was when I was using Windows, and I have no idea how to save a GIF on Mac. I'm really new to using a Mac. [link] [comments] |
High Sierra Install Issue - Appreciate The Help Posted: 31 Jan 2018 03:19 PM PST I have a MacBook Air and when installing High Sierra during the "XX Minutes Remaining" on install it will shut off do one loud beep and the screen starts to flicker. After about 4 minutes it boots back up and I get a message saying "macOS could not be installed on your computer. An error occurred while verifying firmware. Quit the installer to restart your computer and try again" I have tried remaking the USB, i deleted and re-downloaded the High Sierra installer. I've tried on Sierra and El Capitan. Any suggestions on what to do next? [link] [comments] |
Macbook Pro late 2011 keeps turning off and "reinstalling Mac OS" Posted: 31 Jan 2018 06:57 PM PST Sometimes I'll open my laptop to find it turned off. It'll bring me to the gray login screen, and once I enter my password, it'll launch into the "Installing Mac OS" screen and it takes about half an hour to download. However, each time it does it, my laptop still has all of its files etc etc. What could be the problem? Is my laptop just getting old? [link] [comments] |
Track pad delay lock release problem Posted: 31 Jan 2018 06:33 PM PST I have a MacBook Pro 7.1 running OS X 10.11 Even after choosing "without drag lock" in Accessibility, it's still delayed for 1 second. It's annoying and causing me productivity problems. I was advised to add the following in terminal to reduce the delay to 100ms; defaults write -g NSDragAndDropTextDelay -int 100 It doesn't work, what ever number I use. Any suggestions? My Macbook has malware: specifics below Posted: 31 Jan 2018 02:30 PM PST Macbook Air. Sierra. When opening Safari it opens to a "search.anysearch" page. No simple way to delete it, when I located it in my downloads and clicked on it to try to delete it, it changed the name and date in the downloads. Question 1a: should I bring it to the genius bar? 1b: is it better to just restore it myself? Will that for sure remove the malware? 2: Is moving all my photos and songs to my family's iMac then transferring it back to the Air a good way to save all my things or is there a better way? Thank you [link] [comments] |
How can I read all app reviews? Posted: 31 Jan 2018 05:53 PM PST I'm checking out this app in a web browser on my computer https://itunes.apple.com/app/apple-store/id567332338?mt=8 and I can't figure out how to read all of the reviews. Can't click anywhere on the ratings to read anything other than the 3 reviews that are visible. I also can't seem to figure out how to view apps in iTunes anymore. How can I read all reviews for an app other than on my iPhone? Am I missing something? Thanks in advance! [link] [comments] |
[Question] Activation lock question NOT about bypass or removal Posted: 31 Jan 2018 05:49 PM PST My sneaky, secretive ex girlfriend who I don't see and don't want to, left her unwanted ipad2. I turned it on. It had a passcode lock so I restored it to factory. Now it has an icloud activation lock. If my ex, decides to to disable her icloud account related to the ipad, I should then be able to use it, but Apple says; "If you don't sign out of iCloud before you put your device in recovery mode and restore through iTunes, it might remain in Activation Lock" I read that as; If you sign out after a restore, it might remain locked. Might? What the hell does "might" mean? It will either work or it won't. No? If it does remain locked, why? What's the mechanism behind it? [link] [comments] |
Best Thunderbolt 2 SSD enclosure for the money? Posted: 31 Jan 2018 10:09 AM PST I'm trying to set up an SSD as a cache drive for video editing, but I keep running roadblocks, particularly with price. I have an iMac with Thunderbolt 2, but all the enclosures I can find are for multiple drives, Thunderbolt 3/USB 3.1 only, or too much money...sometimes all of the above. My ideal scenario would be to find a Thunderbolt 2 dock that lets me put my own SATA or PCIe Blade SSD inside. One drive slot would be ideal, but two would be ok too. OWC's Thunder Pro EX looks like exactly what I want, but that's Thunderbolt 3 only. Is there an adapter that would let me use it with Thunderbolt 2? It's thunderbolt cord is wired directly to the enclosure, so I can't use Apple's Thunderbolt adapter. Akitio's Neutrino Thunderbolt Edition is damned close too, but it's only thunderbolt 1...so I'd be paying more money for less performance. I've also seen some USB 3.1 SSD enclosures and standalones too...but is there a Thunderbolt 2 to USB 3.1 adapter that would take advantage of the 10Gb/s speed 3.1 offers? Any insight you can provide would be most helpful. Thanks in advance! [link] [comments] |
Constant ad pop ups when using chrome app Posted: 31 Jan 2018 01:54 PM PST When using the chrome app on iPhone I keep getting these pop ups, mostly saying you won something from amazon/walmart etc. It's very annoying and I haven't found a way to stop them yet. I have pop up blocker turned off in the chrome app. Screenshot below the details

Posted: 31 Jan 2018 05:36 PM PST Hi all, I'm currently traveling, and am on an Android phone while on this trip. As such, I need to de-register my phone number with iMessage because I'm missing all the texts from contacts with iPhones. I've filled out the form at http://selfsolve.apple.com/deregister-imessage and gotten the success message, but I'm still missing texts from iPhone users. I think this is because at home, sitting in its cradle, is an iPad still registered to use iMessage with my phone number. That iPad is 2000 miles away and nobody has access to it. But all my messages are likely showing up there. Is there a way to sign the iPad out of Messages remotely or otherwise completely deregister the phone number with iMessage? I already missed one client meeting due to not getting the message, so it's pretty important that I get this figured out. Thanks in advance! [link] [comments] |
