Posted: 01 Jan 2018 04:36 PM PST I was a subscriber to Apple Music from the very beginning, during which time I built up a library of albums and artists I loved. 6 months ago I cancelled my subscription. Yesterday, I resubscribed only to find all my saved albums and artists gone. I contact Apple support, and got this reply:
So, in case you intend to suspend your subscription, be sure to note down all the artists, albums, playlists, "Loved" songs. Personally, the is the last straw with Apple Music. I'm switching to Spotify. [link] [comments] |
PSA: You are almost out of time to get AppleCare+ on your iPhone X Posted: 01 Jan 2018 07:47 AM PST If you bought your iPhone X on launch day, you have today and tomorrow to purchase AppleCare+ which extends your 1 year warranty to two years and reduces prices of accidental damage for two incidents. Posted: 01 Jan 2018 11:56 AM PST I went to check my notifications and it said happy new year, tapped it, and the watch face was brought up with fireworks on it. That's so clever and cool. :) way to go Apple! [link] [comments] |
Will Siri receive an overhaul before the release of HomePod? Posted: 01 Jan 2018 04:40 PM PST As of right now it seems like Siri is shit compared to Google assistant or even Alexa. [link] [comments] |
Apple Music’s ‘End of Year’ content has been awful Posted: 01 Jan 2018 03:44 PM PST Maybe I'm just not seeing it, but there seems to be a serious lack of 'end/start of year' content on Apple Music. All I've seen so far is a playlist of the most popular songs, which is mostly made up of Ed Sheeran tracks. The first year I had Apple Music I remember there being a few 'Best of the Year' playlists, which helped me discover stuff that I'd otherwise have missed. There were also some 'Ones to Watch' type playlists for the year ahead. It'd have been nice to get some of the stats that Spotify offered too, but at the very least I'd have expected a few curated playlists. Wasn't that meant to be the service's USP?? [link] [comments] |

Posted: 01 Jan 2018 11:48 AM PST Hi guys, so apparently when my mom step out of the car she dropped her new iPhone X. Dad ran over her phone and this is the result: Luckily 1 the iPhone was in the case and only the screen shattered. Front facing camera and main camera doesn't work anymore, and Face ID is disabled. Apparently sensors were broken too. Luckily 2 she has Apple Care + so replacing the screen is going to cost just 29€ (19$?). My fear is that internals were damaged, what do you guys think? Posted: 01 Jan 2018 07:08 AM PST If I ask siri to play a song, it plays the whole song or whole album for free through the music app. I've double checked my music app and my account information and I'm not subscribed to Apple Music. Is this how music should work? I thought it would just play a 30 second clip as in iTunes? [link] [comments] |
Apparently my iPhone X knows when I’m hungover Posted: 01 Jan 2018 06:28 AM PST Because it sure as hell isn't unlocking with Face ID today... Happy new year r/apple Update: After a restart it's now recognizing me again! Wohoo! [link] [comments] |
Awesome feature in iTunes. Specify equalizer setting per song. Posted: 01 Jan 2018 03:45 PM PST I listen to a bunch of different genres; so it's pretty jarring to have one single equalizer setting for all songs. I really like the ability to go into my library and specify what the equalizer should be for a song, or for a set of songs. It makes listening to my music really enjoyable. A quick way to view Equalizer setting per song -> right click in the column category, and click equalizer. [link] [comments] |

How would you feel if Apple removed the intrusive 20%- 10% battery warning? Posted: 02 Jan 2018 12:07 AM PST It is fairly intrusive when watching a film or going to use the camera. It only takes a second to remove from the screen but the way it interrupts everything on the phone just seems a bit excessive. What are your thoughts on this? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 01 Jan 2018 09:50 PM PST I've been an Apple user for years and people asked me why, and I always told them that it was the great customer support they had. People never believed me. Lately I've had nothing but amazing service from Apple customer service representatives. I purchased a 2015 mbp in 2015, it was a great machine for the 2 years I had it. This past year I had to take it to a Apple certified repair Centre three separate times. The first two times were to get it repaired, the third time it broke the second I turned it on after the second repair. I called Apple and advised them of what was going on, they told me that if it was the same issue that occurred the past times they will replace the complete unit for me. I was not expecting this from them, I was in utter shock. The new 2017 mbp they sent me started having screen issues, so I brought it to my Apple certified repair centre. I get a call from the technician saying that there is a problem with my warranty and I'd need to contact Apple to resolve this issue. I didn't mind that, since they have treated me so well before. Apple reassured me that it will be handled. It took almost three weeks for me to get my mbp back but i didn't mind that. So this leads me to last Saturday, I get a call from apples customer service representative. They wanted to apologize about the inconvenience I faced without my laptop and offered me a pair of AirPods as compensation. I was very hesitant in accepting such a gift from them seeing that they went out of their way to get my laptop fixed as fast as possible. But the representative was dedicated on me getting something for the inconvenience. So I eventually accepted the offer. I have never experienced such great customer service in my life. This is why I stick to Apple, they treat you so well. [link] [comments] |

So I am moving from Dropbox to iCloud Drive Posted: 01 Jan 2018 01:48 PM PST I am moving from Dropbox to iCloud Drive for one main reason: It's impossible to get just a little more storage in Dropbox, but in iCloud Drive you just pay like 1 dollar for 50 GB which is easily enough for all my files. Also I think iCloud Drive uses way less battery. However, what sucks big time with iCloud Drive is that it is not possible to folders through links. That really sucks. I cannot for instance share a lot of notes with costudents or my gf. Sucks. Fix it, please, Apple. [link] [comments] |

Do stickers on a Macbook ruin the exterior? Posted: 01 Jan 2018 10:15 PM PST Obviously I know that it depends on that sticker, but I had just gotten my Macbook and would rather not ruin it. Would it be alright for the exterior to put stickers on it or should I buy a case and apply stickers onto that? [link] [comments] |

AirDrop not sharing all photos? Posted: 01 Jan 2018 11:37 PM PST So over the weekend, I had to share some 150 photos which I'd taken on my iPhone with my friend, but when I AirDropped it to her, only about 50 odd photos were shared. I tried restarting Network Setiings etc., nothing helped. Any suggestions/ [link] [comments] |
Posted: 01 Jan 2018 10:56 PM PST Is there any way for it to show both battery percentages separately in the widget instead of it averaging out the 2 together? I might have encountered a bug the other day where I managed to have both showing up for me and still updating but other than that theres just one percentage. Normally I wouldn't mind but one Airpod is dropping considerably faster than the other and keeping tabs on it is a pain if the only way to check the life of each individual AirPod is to put one back in the charging case.
