Icon sized widget ideas

I'm someone who is fairly forgetful. If it's not on my homescreen, I might forget the app exists. If it's on a smart stack, I'll forget to check the 2nd or 3rd in the stack. I've heard many others like this. Why don't we have more icon sized widgets like the Calendar and Clock? These are ever changing icon.

There are so many possibilities:

Weather: Display current temperature and conditions.
Fitness: Display current rings.
Music: Most recently played album
Reminders: Select list
Health: Step count
TV: Most recently played show
Photos: same as photos 4 app icon sized widget

These all can work inside an app icon, and I think we should have them.

What’s your photo album strategy?

Every time I get a new iPhone I lose all my curated photo albums. I have iCloud and upload 1000 to my photo stream and I haven't seen an option to keep my albums synced with other devices. If there is one and I'm blind please someone give me the cure!

What I want is that all the albums I make on my one phone will be on my next phone. Priority, favorites. Preferably I would like to be able to choose for the camera roll recents to not be transferred but that's not a biggie.

Is there an awesome photo strategy that someone has to share? I've used google photos in the past and just chucked everything on their free servers but it's a mess.
