Should I factory reset a new macbook air? Posted: 01 Dec 2017 07:39 PM PST purchased a new Macbook Air 2017 from amazon. It hasn't arrived yet. But because I bought it online i'm afraid that the laptop has been altered and may have ransomware/viruses on it. I'm wondering if I should factory reset it when I first get it. How will I factory reset a new macbook air? I think the macbook will have a setup the first time i boot it. So maybe when it boots up I do the setup then I will factory reset it to erase everything. Posted: 01 Dec 2017 05:55 AM PST I know Thunderbolt 3 dock is the most ideal. But I'm a little bit tight on money these days. So, I'm looking for a cheaper dock that lets me connect my two existing monitors to my mcbook. The monitors were earlier used with my Surface Pro 3 via the Surface dock. [link] [comments]
OSX Mail 11.1 quite buggy on Macbook Air (High Sierra) Posted: 01 Dec 2017 10:00 AM PST Hey there! Yeah, I was dumb enough to upgrade from Sierra to High Sierra and therefore got Mail 11.1. Yeah, yeah I know, I know but I got a brand new Macbook Air and thought it would be a good idea to get all major updates before start working with it. So with Mail 10.3 on my old Macbook Pro 2012 I was relatively satisfied and the account setup in 11.1 was surprisingly fast but the trouble begins with the mailbox structure. I have four mail accounts connected to my Mail app while using a lot of "sub-"mailboxes to assort everything. The previously created mailboxes were all flawlessly transfered to my app but the trouble kicks in when I try to create new mailboxes which is not working at all. When I rightclick the mailbox to create a sub-mailbox, I can give it a name and all is fine but once I click on create, it doesn't come up. Likewise, I have some major problems with copy/paste. I cannot move any mailboxes and accidentally dropped one of the sub-mailboxes into another sub-mailbox. For now I'm not able to move it back which really annoys me. Anyone having the same problem? Are there any advices to fix this or is my only chance waiting for an update that hopefully solves these bugs? [link] [comments]
Success to upgrade my MacBook Pro to NVMe SSD Posted: 01 Dec 2017 10:27 AM PST Finally, I managed to upgrade my 13" MacBook Pro Retina 2015 Early SSD to NVMe SSD (Samsung SM951 NVMe version), surprisingly, the problems that occurs in AHCI SSD didn't happen, the only issue is the SSD hotter than before, I can feel warm on the keyboard while typing, it definitely make you can't use it on your thigh. If you are interested on how to upgrade, you can take a look to my video recorded. Upgrading SSD and RAM on 2012 Macbook Pro Posted: 01 Dec 2017 07:34 AM PST I would like to upgrade the SSD and RAM on my 2012 Macbook Pro. What kind of specs and price range should I be looking at? Also, should I purchase online or have the Apple store take care of the purchase and install? Thanks for any help! [link] [comments]
Posted: 01 Dec 2017 04:32 AM PST I have a mid 2013 MacBook air with 1.7 GHz Intel Core i7 processor and 8G of Ram but I am looking to upgrade in the near future. Would the Entry level 2017 MacBook Pro be much of an upgrade cos I know you don't get as much for your money as you did with the older MacBook Pros. [link] [comments] |
