Referenced from Apple: "To answer your inquiry, all our carrier iPhone X models come out as unlocked so getting an iPhone X choosing T-Mobile as your carrier will give you a device that can be used with any GSM networks here in the US and overseas." Make sure they are fully paid off though or they might be locked* [link] [comments] |

apple has really been killing it in the sound department over the last year Posted: 24 Oct 2017 09:07 PM PDT we've gotten some seriously cool sound-related things. AirPods are great, stereo speakers on the iPhone, the best laptop speakers i've ever heard (hands down) on the MacBook pro, quad speaker setup on the iPad pro, even the speakers on the Watch are pretty high tech. awesome job apple! edit: the number of people who think i'm praising apple products as if they're professional Sennhesier-quality sound wise is crazy. i'm saying that for a normal consumer like me, the sound on apple devices is pretty great and i'm very happy with them! no need for such negativity. Data usage through the roof on iOS 11.0.3 Posted: 24 Oct 2017 08:11 PM PDT Has anyone had serious data usage after updating to iOS 11.0.3? My normal usage hasn't changed since iOS 10, but I'm hitting my 5gb cap way earlier than normal (about 7 days before end of billing cycle). I used to barely get to 4gb without being overly careful. There is approximately 2gb used by "iTunes media servers", which I have no clue what it is. I use wifi at home and the office and i only use data for reddit, email, iMessage, Instagram and occasionally a song on AP. Using iPhone 6s if that helps. Thanks in advance. [link] [comments] |

the battery on my 10.5” ipad pro is mind blowing Posted: 24 Oct 2017 06:32 PM PDT i primarily use it for school (notes with the pencil, typing, etc.), reddit, and netflix. yesterday i ended the day at about 7pm with 42% battery...and nine hours of use. today i checked my usage again and after two hours i'd lost only 8%. this thing is absolutely phenomenal. edit: right now i'm sitting at 77% with five hours, no plug ins since last night before bed [link] [comments] |

Posted: 24 Oct 2017 06:33 PM PDT While filling up with gas, I found a shiny new iPhone 7. My ideal scenario would've been to give it back to the owner, but looks like they wiped everything on the phone, and i have no way of knowing who it belongs to. It won't let me do anything, my only option is to type in username and password from when it was originally set up. Anything I can do with this phone? It seems like such a waste to use it as a paperweight. [link] [comments] |
Switched from Iphone 6S to 7+ and noticed a difference in sound quality Posted: 24 Oct 2017 02:06 PM PDT So i owned a 6s which I used to play music in my car connected to my cassette to 3.5 mm aux . music played smoothly and had amazing bass. Now recently that I switched to 7 Plus I used the adaptor for lightning port to 3.5 mm adapter and connected my aux to that and the sound quality had decreased tremendously. I had to turn the sound way up than I normally do for my 6s and also there was no noticeable bass . Has anyone had the same issue? If so how did you guys deal with it? [link] [comments] |
It's not too late to buy AppleCare Posted: 25 Oct 2017 01:19 AM PDT I bought my tbMBP almost a year ago and always regretted that I did not purchase AppleCare with it. I thought it had to be purchased in the first 30 days. Especially when my space bar started giving me problems and I had to get the entire topcase replaced (I heard it's a €700 replacement). I was really happy with the service but shortly thereafter my 'P'-key started feeling spongy. I felt this rush of panic: here we go again. Fortunately I pressed the key a bit more, also on the edges and all of a sudden it started working properly... "Maybe it was a piece of dust?" After reading the Casey Johnston article of how the new keyboard is ruining her life & listening to the latest podcasts of ATP & MPU I knew enough... Even though I love typing on it: something is wrong with this keyboard. This morning I found out that you can still by AppleCare Protection Plan (€249 here in The Netherlands) and I did not even have to think twice. I love the laptop and typing on the keyboard, but it is simply a bad keyboard. Not knowing how Apple will deal with defective keyboards in 2 years (after my regular warranty is gone) this feels like the proper thing to do at the moment. Did you buy AppleCare? Are you considering it? You are probably still eligible. [link] [comments] |
