Did your iPhone get wet or fall in water? Follow these steps right away!

    1. Power it off. Don't let current flow through the internals or it can cause short circuits.

    2. Never plug it in to charge or power it on "to check if it works." You invite shorts and a ruined phone if you do this.

    3. If you can't take it to a shop right away, put it in front of a fan blowing cool air so the internals can dry out quickly and avoid oxidizing. Never use hot air like with a blow dryer.

    4. Take the phone to a reputable 3rd party shop (not Apple) as soon as possible. They can open the phone and disconnect the battery and perform a deep clean and logic board clean using 99% alcohol.

The key is to dry the internals out as quickly as possible to reduce oxidizing and short circuits. Rice doesn't and never has worked, nor does silica. It's a passive humidity remover that doesn't remove liquid fast enough to do any good.

As long as the logic board is saved and works normally without overheating, all other components like screens, cameras, buttons, etc. can be replaced for a decent cost.

Have you backed up your phone lately? If not, and you get it wet, you could lose everything. Back up your info!

Does an iPhone record at a perfect 60FPS?

    Posted: 16 Jun 2022 02:14 PM PDT

The only reason I'm asking this is because one day, when I imported a raw 60FPS video file to Premiere Pro; it said the video was in 59.73FPS. So does an iPhone record at a perfect 30/60FPS, or does it record at a little under 30/60FPS? If you're wondering what phone I have, I have an iPhone 8 Plus running on iOS 15.5 :)

    iPhone motherboard repair

    Posted: 16 Jun 2022 08:36 AM PDT

After my iPhone's motherboard was repaired a lot of functions don't work. For example, it doesn't vibrate even if it's set to. Or the speakers at the bottom of the phone don't work, only the one which is in the notch. I mean when I get a notification or play something on YouTube the sound comes from the notch speaker. The man at the service said the motherboard repairing could be dangerous. Did he mean this? Are these mistakes because the repairing went wrong? Should I take it back? Could these mistakes be repaired? (iPhone Xr, iOS 15.5)

Weird noise when recording on camera app

    Posted: 16 Jun 2022 12:17 PM PDT

Hey guys I have an iPhone 7 and when ever I try to record a video on my camera app there is an extremely loud rushing sound and you can barely hear the video. The weird thing is that this doesn't happen when I record videos or make audios on other apps. I don't think I've had this problem before installing iOS 15. How can I fix this issue? Thanks in advance!

    Help! Reset Bug

    Posted: 16 Jun 2022 09:44 AM PDT

I have an iPhone X and the other day it fell and turned off the cameras and torch.

I reset it using a backup and after backing up some apps (namely gmail instagram and mega.nz) are now super slow to load (show logo intro screen for a long time) and then work fine as soon as it loads.

It's been like this for almost 1 week. I just tried resetting again but no luck. Face ID is off as I still haven't fixed the camera.

Can someone help me find out why the loading screen on these apps takes so long? Thanks in advance!

Very unique and impossible problem...any possible way to remove selected items from my iPhone backup and restore without those files? Looking for a backup viewer that also has a delete function (at least I think this is my only option).

    Posted: 16 Jun 2022 05:53 AM PDT

Basically I let my phone get too full and it kind of went crazy and deleted my text messages (I checked, the sql file that stores them is back to a few kb from 80mb which is the size in a different backup from months ago). The problem is that all the images in those texts are still in my phone and taking up space, but since the sql file with the texts is gone, my phone has no texts that tell it what those images are for, so they are taking up space and I can't access them to delete. So I have all this storage just gone.

I have checked in every location on my phone that would show this type of thing, really. I promise I know of all the places to check, my phone has no idea what these files are, so I cannot see them to delete them via normal means. My phone has no clue that they exist. They are simply taking up space with no way to delete.

I figured my only option is to remove them from a backup file and then restore, the problem is that in the backup (even one without encryption) the files are stored in nonsense names in random folders, so the MMS pics are mixed in with the camera roll pics, and probably other important shit too. I have 3uTools and can view the backup and I'm able to find the part of the decrypted, organized backup that stores the MMS, but this program does not have an option to delete anything, only view.

I'm hoping someone knows of a program that can delete the files in the viewer/UI, because doing so from the folder structure straight from the backup is not possible, as far as I can tell. Or just if anyone has another cool trick that might accomplish this.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks in advance.

iPhone restore from backup doesn't include texts

    Posted: 16 Jun 2022 09:11 AM PDT

Hi everyone. I recently restored from my backup for my iPhone 12 Pro and everything is on my phone after the Restore from Backup process except for my text messages. All my contacts, photos, apps, everything is there. Just missing the text messages.

    Some "troubleshooting" I've done:

    - Confirm my texts are really included in the backup by clicking on the backup in iMazing and seeing all my texts in iMazing, confirming they're actually included in the backup

    - Restore from the backup again, leaving the phone plugged into the computer until everything was fully done on the iPhone's end

If you have any suggestions please let me know! I'm okay with using tools other than the stock iPhone restore and backup tool in finder such as iMazing, iTools pro, and more. If you know the correct tool I would love a name drop. Any and all help is greatly appreciated

    Traveling internationally, not receiving iMessages

    Posted: 16 Jun 2022 02:46 AM PDT

I am originally from the US and have been traveling internationally for about 2 weeks and will be outside of the US for the next 2 months. When I arrived in Europe I got a sim card and switched out my US based sim card. I had no problems receiving iMessages from US friends who had iPhones, though I kept getting messages saying that my US number will be deactivated/disassociated? from my phone in X number of days (originally it was 30 days). I had to get an access code sent to my US number so briefly switched to my US sim card. The problem now that my US based friends messages are no longer coming through. I can text them and it comes in as my international number, but their texts sent to me are not coming in. I checked in the settings and my US based number is no longer associated with my phone. Is there a way to get it back to associating my US phone number to my iphone?

I know I can have everyone switch my contact info to my email address but that will be a hassle for everyone I know. Plus I may still miss messages from people I am unaware of trying to contact me. Anyone know a solution? Today I am planning on leaving my US sim card and just take the roaming changes and hoping the number will be synced back to my phone for when I switch the European sim card and have the 30 day period reset.

3g not working when 4g enabled

Hello, as the title says, 3g doesn't work when 4g is enabled. This happens when getting out of the 4g coverage area. Though I've found out 3g actually works when going to settings>cellular>options>voice and data>3g

I neee help for my audio (11 pro)

    Posted: 16 Jun 2022 04:08 AM PDT

Ok so yesterday I was in the bathroom doing the normal stuff and I accidentally dropped my phone in the sink and the front speaker got directly under the water flow. I don't know if water temperature affect iPhones but when I got it out the speaker wasn't working correctly and audio was really crispy as if water got inside the system and damaged it. I tried to dry it with a blower but it didn't changed anything. Can someone please help me find a way to fix the problem pls ( it is a 11 PRO) btw

Dropped my IPhone XS in a bucket of water. I grabbed it in a flash (like two seconds submerged). I took the case off and dried it with a towel and stuck it in some rice for a half hour. Then it worked fine for like five minutes and the screen started doing this. Help.
