Does AppleTV content contribute to Screen Time on your iPhone? Posted: 14 Jun 2022 08:53 PM PDT Say if I watch 2 hours of YouTube a day, will my Apple account share that data to iPhone and show it in my Screen Time? [link] [comments]
What are the risks in starting a digital movie collection through Apple TV? Posted: 14 Jun 2022 11:35 AM PDT I am a massive movie guy, but to be honest I'm sick of having hundreds of blu ray cases around the flat. I've heard the quality of 4k movies purchased through iTunes/Apple TV are exceptional. My only fear is that I've seen online some people have had their movies removed after a studio pulls licensing. I was just wondering if this is a regular occurrence or whether this is rare? Obviously I don't want to invest in a massive digital collection of my movies are going to get stripped away over the next few years. Thanks in advance! [link] [comments]
I need help with gifting tv show Posted: 14 Jun 2022 11:11 AM PDT So I have an old Apple ID account that has a tv show that I would like to watch and I heard that I can gift to someone tv shows music and stuff so how can I give this tv show I own on one account to my new Apple ID [link] [comments]
Two little features I've come across that I really love. Posted: 14 Jun 2022 07:36 AM PDT I don't know how obvious these are to other people but I wanted to share for anyone who hasn't come across them. 1) I HATE when you press the back or forward button (or any button) on the click wheel and the screen dims and that menu/scroll bar stays on the screen until it finally fades out after some time. Press the back button and it goes away immediately! 2) Trying to forward through interminable commercials in the NBA Finals but only being allowed to go forward 10 seconds takes forever. Hold down on the forward button and you get a fast forward feature! Hit it again for double speed and commercials blow by. [link] [comments]
Posted: 14 Jun 2022 10:35 AM PDT Hi, I've been reading the Hue Sync posts and have only become more confused. I have an ATV 4K and a Sonos Arc. No game console. Is it going to work without much fiddling? Or am I better to wait? [link] [comments]
I am still having occasionally pixelated streams on Apple TV+. Posted: 14 Jun 2022 07:28 AM PDT Any ideas?. Apple TV 4K first gen hardwired to the router, fiber 300/300. Started happening with tvOS 15. It only happens on Apple TV+, and correct itself 15-20 seconds after the playback has started. [link] [comments]
Posted: 14 Jun 2022 12:56 PM PDT Hey all, Unfortunately my Apple TV stopped to work, when I turns it on I see a blinking flash and nothing shows up on the monitor, I googled it and saw I need to restore the device via iTunes but there's no usb port to plug it to the PC, what should I do? Home theatre with HomePods question Posted: 14 Jun 2022 12:17 PM PDT Been loving my Apple TV 4K for years, and recently won my first HomePod Mini in a raffle. I saw that you are able to link HomePods to ATVs to with the home theatre feature, but I have a question When this is activated, does the HomePod work in TANDEM with the TV speakers or does it REPLACE the TV as the complete audio output? And if it does replace, would a singular HomePod mini be a better option than the speakers on say, a newer-ish Samsung smart TV?? Thanks :) [link] [comments]
Question about audio in iTunes movies Posted: 14 Jun 2022 10:05 AM PDT I want to buy Morbius on iTunes but in the description, under "languages" it says that the audio is 5.1. I checked out a bunch of newer "blockbusters" and they all say 5.1. Do any movies support 7.1? Or is this just an oversight with the wording and they're really 7.1? Thanks [link] [comments]

Overhyped or just not matching my use case Posted: 14 Jun 2022 04:02 PM PDT I live in a primarily Apple based household. My wife and I both have iPhones, iPads, Apple Watches, and a Mac laptop (mine is long in the tooth 2015 MBP and hers a new M1 Air). All the devices seem to meet our needs better than the competition and are rock solid. I saw the 2021 4K Apple TV on sale at Best Buy this week and figured I would give it a shot. I have an LG CX for my TV and we mostly love the built in apps with the only exception being the YouTube TV app and Hulu have been randomly crashing. We had Chromecasts before and while it worked OK it was never great. I heard how stable the Apple TV is and figured I would give it a try. I got it set up yesterday and my wife opened up the YouTube TV app. Everything was bright and over saturated. Quick googling told me when I had turned on Dolby Vision that set everything to Dolby by default even though I turned on match content and match frame rate. I turned it off and YTTV looks much more normal. Next we decided that we should watch the new season of Physical on Apple TV+. You would think this would be a slam dunk but I'm watching and every semi dark scene has blacks lifted. It's like a haze in the background. Then I find out that the YouTube app still doesn't support HDR and that multi-user support is basically useless. So for $129 I got an nice aluminum remote that seems to not be designed for humans and a box that does many thing subpar. A two year old TV's built in apps knocks this box out of the water. The 4K Chromecast ultra is half the price and just works. Outputting the correct content at the correct frame rate and dynamic range. The $50 Chromecast has real multi user support (too bad it is notoriously unstable). Does anyone at Apple live with more than one person and use this product? [link] [comments]
Posted: 14 Jun 2022 09:26 AM PDT Had a 141 day move streak going, filled my rings 200% yesterday and my watch died around 6pm and didn't charge over night. I now see my streak is gone. Is there a way to get it back? [link] [comments]
Change with places like Centerparcs Posted: 14 Jun 2022 04:40 AM PDT Last year we had to do the work around spoofing Mac addresses on laptops to bring the Apple box and get it connected here (you need to go through a web page to access Wi-Fi). Just noticed last night that now the Apple TV prompts you to continue on your phone or iPad which makes it much easier for less techie people. Hadn't seen it mentioned here yet [link] [comments]
