- How to connect Apple TV 4K to TV with sound bar? I have a Vizio MQ7 with a single 2.1 hdmi eARC hub. I have a 2.1 vizio earc sound bar with it connected to my single hub. How would I connect my Apple TV 4K? Would it be connected to the Soundbar? Or just a normal hdmi slot? Want Dolby and 4K.

However, on more occasions than not, mainly when the characters are using the phone or other close up settings, the words and their mouths do not align at all. The AppleTv should be plugged with the HDMI ARC correct? And then I have the Soundbar plugged into the Samsung Tv through the HDMI 3. Anyone know how I can get this to work? [link] [comments] | ||

| Posted: 06 May 2022 10:44 AM PDT So I purchased a bundle of movies (on standard definition) on iTunes for my son to primarily watch on his iPad, but when I play them on the Apple TV app on my tcl roku the HDR icon appears on the screen and the picture is highly saturated. I don't really want to edit the HDR settings because everything else "HDR" looks fine. Anyone else experience this or perhaps have any suggestions? [link] [comments] | ||
| Posted: 06 May 2022 10:31 AM PDT Hi all. Recently bought a new hdmi cable (Nikabe 0,5 meter) for my Apple TV 4K. Sometimes when I start the Apple TV (my tv also starts with the Siri remote) a black screen sometimes appear, sometimes a couple of times before the picture stays. I don't have match content activated in the settings. This problem doesn't always occur but it's kinda frustrating since it could occur multiple times in a row for a few seconds. Anyone who knows what the problem could be? It's most probably related to my new hdmi cable but I don't know why this would a problem since it's a very good cable with high speed. | Home Sharing w/o internet over Airport Express WiFi Posted: 05 May 2022 07:40 PM PDT My internet is down for a couple of days because the cable company is installing new fiber optic cables in our neighborhood for "2x the speed". I have a bunch of videos I like stored on my iMac that I'm usually able to watch on AppleTV through the Computers/Home Sharing app. Even though the videos are locally stored (on my Mac) and therefore bypass the need for internet, the videos won't play for more than ~2 minutes before stopping because of "No Internet Connection". It's very frustrating. I just want to know if there is a workaround that will enable me to view Home Sharing content w/o having the AppleTV interrupt content because of no internet. | CEC Stopped working overnight on an Apple TV 4k 2nd gen and a Denon X3400h receiver Posted: 06 May 2022 12:40 AM PDT I've had CEC working perfectly fine with my first and second gen Apple TV 4k's and my Denon X3400h receiver. The Apple TV is on TvOS 15.4.1 and the Denon is on the latest firmware. The Apple TV is connected to the receiver on HDMI input 1, HDMI monitor 1 out is being sent to the TV, an LG C8, on its HDMI port 2, which is the ARC port. I sat down to use the Apple TV tonight and I could not get audio out of it no matter what I tried. I ended up having to completely reset the thing back to default settings and set it up again. Audio works, but I can't get CEC control of my receiver to work again. Things I've tried:
If I connect the Apple TV directly to my TV using the same cable that's normally coming out of the receiver it will CEC control the TV. Thankfully I have a harmony remote so this is mostly just to avoid the annoyance of having to have my Apple TV remote control my receiver audio through IR. Because on the occasions when I use bluetooth headphones and want to use the remote to control Bluetooth volume, Have I missed something obvious to try next? [link] [comments] | ||

Sometime over the last couple months something has changed so that whenever I turn the Apple TV on, it's defaulted to mute so I need to turn the volume up. This never happened before, and now it happens every time I turn TV on. Haven't seen anyone else post about this, so I'm wondering if somehow I've triggered some weird setting? [link] [comments] | ||
| HBO max - clicks aren’t doing anything Posted: 05 May 2022 10:23 AM PDT Solved: Ok, I got it… figured it out. It won't work right behind a double nat. Fire up HBO max and sometimes the clicks for selecting a profile don't even work, and I have to force close. If that works, 99% of the time it seems that the clicks on the trailer play or movie/show play buttons don't work… you see the light flicker on the att box and you see the button 'clicking', but nothing then happens… nothing… works fine on my iPad and Xbox x on the same network. Anybody know what this is? Tried all the normal troubleshooting and support said they're passing me up the chain. Apple TV 4K. [link] [comments] | ||
| Posted: 05 May 2022 05:43 AM PDT I'm currently in France staying at a friend's family house alone and decided to sign out of their Netflix account to sign into my own because I was unsure where I left off with a couple shows. It just occurred to me that I may have signed them all out of their Netflix accounts since the TVs they have back in the states are also AppleTVs and are signed into their same AppleID account. Did I accidentally swap all their Netflix accounts to my own on all their TVs they have back in the US? [link] [comments] | ||

Heard theres an issue that LG tvs cant play DTS audio formats. My question is: does the apple tv automatically converts any sound sources as lpcm and transmit it to LG C1 so it can then passthrough it to an AVR, or does thr apple tv passthrough the audio which the tv decodes? | Posted: 05 May 2022 04:31 AM PDT I have lost my physical Apple TV Remote and so I use the remote on my iPhone and iPad. On one of my two Apple TV's, whenever I take any action whatsoever using the remote in iOS, it will not let me reconnect for another action. For example, if I select a show and close out the remote to scroll Reddit and then two minutes later I want to pause the TV it just won't work. The only fix I have found is to switch to the iPad and bring up the remote there. But then it experiences the same problem and I'm back to the iPhone. When there was a dedicated remote app I could switch between that and the notification centre version but Apple got rid of that in the most recent iOS. Anyone experience this problem or know a fix? Edit: I'm looking for a software fix. Obviously I know I could buy another ridiculously skinny remote and attach an AirTag. [link] [comments] | ||
| Sonos no longer works with my AppleTV Posted: 04 May 2022 07:29 PM PDT My TV itself has horrible sound so I've used Sonos speakers with my Apple TV for the last 2-3 years and it's worked perfectly until yesterday. Now, I can still connect from the AppleTV most of the time but no sound is being sent over no matter what I've tried (including a complete factory reset of the speakers). I can still send music to them from my phone and computer so I know the speakers are still working. It's driving me crazy. I haven't had any problems until now. [link] [comments] | ||
