Brand new AirPods not being recognized as mine? Posted: 09 Mar 2022 01:57 PM PST Good afternoon, I just bought a new pair of AirPods Pro, and they do not seem to be registered as mine in the iPhone yet for some reason. They do auto connect and work fine, and I have renamed them in the Bluetooth settings, but when I do the thing where you put the buds in the case and hold it near the phone, it asks me to connect the AirPods to the phone, or sometimes says Not Your AirPods Pro. What's up with this!? Every time I go through the setup, I skip the Siri part and I skip the notifications because I do not use Siri and not want it to make noises for notifications. After those screens, it shows the charge level of the earbuds and the case. I then click 'Done' but it doesn't save that I guess since every time I open the case near the phone I have to go through it all over again. I must be missing something here. Do I need to set up Siri for it to recognize them as my AirPods? [link] [comments] |

Shortcut to change autolock status on focus? Posted: 09 Mar 2022 02:18 PM PST Hi, I understand that it's not currently possible to change the autolock time based on focus status. What I'd like to do, instead, is make a shortcut that turns off autolock when focus status = fitness and back on to 30s when fitness is over. I'm having trouble figuring it out. Is this possible and can anyone help me? I love the default setting of 30 seconds, but when I'm lifting or boxing or something I don't want it to lock so I can just enter my reps and wights as I go through my routine. Thanks! Posted: 09 Mar 2022 01:56 PM PST I have hidden an AirTag in my car, just in case it gets stolen or something, And to track the car when my kid borrows it. Every time I get in the car in the morning, the AirTag seems to know that I have done so and starts chirping a few times from its hiding place. I assume it knows that my phone is in the vicinity. Why does it do this, and is there a way to make it stop? [link] [comments] |

Apple 27 inch Thunderbolt Display (2011-2016) Compatible with M1 Macs? Posted: 09 Mar 2022 12:05 PM PST Are the Apple 27 inch Thunderbolt Displays (2011-2016) compatible Apple Silicon M1 Macs? I'm looking to purchase a "vintage" Apple Thunderbolt Display, but I read an article that there are screen flickering issues with the new Macs. Has anyone else had this issue, and if so, has there been a fix? [link] [comments] |
Phone sometimes not getting calls Posted: 09 Mar 2022 03:13 PM PST I recently got a used iPhone 8 Plus and I'm not receiving calls sometimes. Like my friend called me today and it worked fine but every time my dad calls me it doesn't go through for some reason. Does anyone know how to fix this. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 09 Mar 2022 03:13 PM PST So my phone provider offered $700 in trade in value for a new iphone 13 pro for my iPhone 11. I backed up my iPhone 11 and backed up everything on my new iPhone 13 through iCloud. I just want to know how do I know everything is safely on my new phone before I reset my old phone and send it. I really don't want to loose important pictures and messages so I just want to make sure everything is good before I reset. When I delete a picture on my new phone it say "This picture will be deleted from ICloud Photos on all devices" how can I keep all my stuff on my new phone and reset my old phone?? TIA! iPad says it’s charging but won’t charge. Posted: 09 Mar 2022 02:42 PM PST I recently found an iPad in my closet. I got a charger for it and started charging it. It's been charging for two hours and all it does is show the charging symbol and the apple symbol. I tried some online help, but now all it does is flash dark grey for a second before going back to black. Is there a way I could get it to properly charge? [link] [comments] |

iOS Changing “good” to “hood”. Posted: 09 Mar 2022 08:04 AM PST For the last couple of months iOS has been changing the word "good" to "hood" (it just did it as I typed this). Sometimes it writes "food". Why would it even learn to do this? 9/10 times it's not grammatically correct. I've tried selecting "good" in the suggestive text above the keyboard repeatedly to train it, I've turned off autocorrect in system and turned it back on again. Nothing works. I can literally only type that word by writing it, then selecting it again in the suggested text every. Single. Time. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 09 Mar 2022 01:59 PM PST Hey guys so i went to log into ebay and it won't let me sign in. A notification pops up on my screen and says "app tracking disabled". When i go to settings to enable it it is all grey and won't let me. I've tried all YouTube videos and the only thing that fixes it is when I sign out of iCloud. I'm 18 so I'm not sure why this is happening. Thanks [link] [comments] |
Posted: 09 Mar 2022 01:49 PM PST I have an iPad Pro I use for work. For reasons…the iPad Pro is not associated with my work accounts, nor is it ever on the same network. I found the easiest way to move files between my iPad and my Work PC is by using a thumb drive. When I put the thumb drive in the iPad it sees it in the files app and I can move files to it and from it without any issues. If I remove the thumb drive from the iPad and then put it back in, it doesn't appear in the files app. When I pull it out, it then appears and then disappears. When I remove the thumb drive, and put it in the Windows PC, I get the message that the drive has issues and needs to be repaired. I do the scan for issues and then it fixes the drive and I am good to go. If I then put it back in the iPad, the drive is listed again in the files app, but if I take it out, the cycle repeats. I have closed the files app and then removed the thumb drive. I have done that, then lock the iPad. The drive is formatted for exFAT and I am running the latest iOS. This is driving me nuts! 2-factor authorization doesn't work. Posted: 09 Mar 2022 07:36 AM PST Hi! So, first of all I am currently using an iPhone 12 on iOS 15.3.1, an iPad Pro 2020 also on the very recent iOS and an Apple Watch Series 6 on watchOS 8.4.2. I've had my Apple-ID for a long time now (since 2012-ish I think), so I have been using multiple devices in the past (iPod Touch 4g, iPhone 5s...) that now just lay around in a messy drawer. I haven't turned them on in YEARS, and never had a single issue with my Apple-ID whatsoever. Until now. A few days ago when I woke up I got two emails, saying that somebody used my Apple-ID to log into a webbrowser and also an iPhone 7 and iPhone 11 Pro, which I did not authorize. I immediately changed my (admittedly very bad and insecure) password as well as the security questions, deleted the 2 foreign phones from my devices in settings>Apple-ID and called the Apple support line. They asked me how with 2-factor authorization something like that could happen and I told them that I never used 2-fa even though apparently it should be integrated in the recent iOS updates anyways. So when I followed the dudes instructions to enable it, I realize the whole option for 2-fa is entirely missing from my settings (settings>Apple-ID>security&password). I can click "change password" and "change security questions". At this point the Apple support guy tells me to wait because someone from software would have to help me out. Long story short, after talking to someone on the support line for like 1,5 hours I had removed my phone from my devices, hard reset it and then add it again, removed my iPad multiple times and also adding it back again, nothing worked. Every time I go to my devices list (no matter if its on my iPhone, iPad, appleid.apple.com) it only shows my iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch, which are all up to date and currently in use. So I also removed every old device connected to my iTunes on my PC. Still didn't work. Whenever I click on "Find My">Find my iPhone and try to enable "Find My"-Network, it says I should upgrade my account security. All that happens then is just a blank white window showing up which just disappears after a couple seconds. Today I went to icloud.com and it said I am running VERY old versions of iOS, watchOS etc. (see picture) which I cannot explain even if I tried. Then again, the devices shown there are only my current ones and I could not find a single devices list where it showed some other than those. So in conclusion I suppose the problem is that extremely old devices are still connected to my Apple-ID and I can't get rid of them for some reason (Is there an option anywhere to just disconnect ALL devices from the Apple-ID? maybe?). Even though I think its weird that even then the option for 2-fa ist just completely missing. I really don't wanna create a new ID because I bought some pretty expensive apps and got all my stuff connected to this one. But yeah I guess that is it, I'm losing my mind right now over this and being on the line with 3 different Apple support guys for 3 hours in total didn't help a single thing. I'm not expecting anyone to know the solution, however I'm grateful for any advice on this. [link] [comments] |

Website visited 2 weeks ago is maxing my screen time Posted: 09 Mar 2022 12:37 PM PST Basically title, the website is pride.nicholemattera.gay and, since visiting it about 2 weeks ago, my screen time is saying it's 24hrs a day I'm on my phone. Obviously this isn't what's actually happening, but it looks like every time my phone is locked this site is filling up what I'm "looking at". Here are screenshots of what it looks like on my end. I have an iPhone SE, with iOS 15.3.1, and am UK based if that helps. Since this I've limited it to 1min a day which hopefully will at least get my numbers back to normal, but I'm concerned about what this has done to my phone and if I should do anything else or if this is just some weird software glitch. Thanks in advance and if this should go somewhere else please let me know! [link] [comments] |
How much does it cost to fix broken LCD/screen? Posted: 09 Mar 2022 08:37 AM PST Dropped my iPhone XR and now it has a cracked screen, green lines, and a third of my screen is black. I see Genius Bar charges $199 for screen pair, but assuming this does not include fixing the LCD? Cannot find answers online and their answering systems are impossible to navigate :| Edit: wanted to mention that the touch screen does still work perfectly fine [link] [comments] |
does anyone else have trouble accessing Mac Dock while in other apps? Posted: 09 Mar 2022 08:13 AM PST I'm on (Monterey 12.1 ) not sure if that matters, and I constantly have to hover mouse back and forth to get the Dock to appear while in other apps or even if they're minimized. I've tried turning auto-hide on and off and it seems worse with auto-hide on but even then its still frustratingly difficult to get the Dock to appear without repeated back and forth gestures. Does anyone else experience or even better have a solution? [link] [comments] |
