Apple Watch anyone else loose skin around wrist where the watch goes because of excess handwashing? I’m a chef so I have to wash my hands all the time but it’s eating up my skin anyone know any bands that help prevent this? The water always stays under my watch and it leaves a smell and it rubs my skin off.

I wish the SS Apple Watch had a GPS-only option. I have no intention of using cellular on my AW, so it’s annoying to only have the option to pay an extra £100 or so on top of a more expensive material for a feature I won’t use, but I want a more watch-like material for my AW than aluminium.

Is anyone having issues with watchOS 8.4.2?

    Posted: 12 Feb 2022 09:26 AM PST

Both me and my girlfriend have series 3 and after the auto update hers unpaired and wouldn't re-pair until I factory reset the watch. Mine errored out on the auto update. Has anyone had similar issues? What was the resolution?

Idk if it was just a weird coincidence that both of ours had problems but for now I am turning auto update off.

Thanks I'm advance if anyone has input on this.

Exercise rings and rest days and OCD

    Posted: 12 Feb 2022 09:04 AM PST

I am really manic about closing my rings for all my activities. I get a bit compulsive with these things (had to stop MyFitnessPal because of insane food recording)

But for me, closing rings means I'm not a slug. But I'm sore ALL. The. Time.

I've been told I need rest days, but then I don't make my move goals. (Rest might be a walk or yoga)

Other than therapy (I'm in it) what closes your rings that isn't "exercise"?

My move is 600 calories and my exercise is 40 minutes.

By the way, I'm overweight and constantly told by doctor I need to exercise more (yeah, f-you BMI)

My fitness goal for February is to close all my rings 21 times—not exactly conducive to rest days.

    Watch faces

    Posted: 12 Feb 2022 08:20 AM PST

The one thing still on my wishlist for Apple Watch is more customizable watch faces. There are a lot of really nice faces but they all have various issues. What I really want is to be able to add lots of complications to any watch face I choose. Instead there are watch faces I do not want to use because they don't have complications or have too few to be useful.

I like to see complications for: Date (prefer Outlook Calendar), Activity, Battery, Workout, CARROT weather and Vivint. When placed in a corner, Outlook doesn't show the date, but when placed in Sub-dial Top of Infograph it has both date and Up Next. In a round complication it has the date.

Infograph and Infograph Modular have the most complications but are somewhat boring. With the 8 complications on Infograph I get everything I want with Outlook as the date, but I can still add Music and Digital Time.

Many watch faces have 4 complications around the edges, which is good, but that never seems like enough. Solar Dial is one of the best looking watch faces and I found that Unity with a round face has the 4 corner complications. Some faces have a built-in date, which frees up a complication.

I use Numerals Duo when I want a face without complications, like when I'm in the shower because water can activate them.

    Timer display options?

    Timer display options?

New to my S3 watch. Not the most intuitive interface, guess I'll get used to it. One thing I'll be using is the Timer, but I don't like the current UI. Apple shows this one, which is better for my purposes. How the heck do I get this one?

In a related question, are all customizations done through the phone?

    Control IPhone Apple Music

    Posted: 12 Feb 2022 06:35 AM PST

I JUST discovered you can control the music on your iPhone using your watch. I mean when music was playing on my phone it popped up on my watch to play/pause/skip. But I just recently scrolled up and noticed that you can actually go into "on iPhone" and choose all your albums/songs/playlists to play that are on your phone and your phone will start playing music.

Before I only saw songs that were only downloaded to Apple Watch and could only be played with my AirPods or Beats and not in the car. This makes life so much easier when I'm on the road and playing Bluetooth in the car!

*I hope this post made sense. It's kind of all over the place. Im just so excited!
