    So I've been using Linux Distributions for 3+ yrs .. i hopped from one to another and it was fun.. Now by 1Day of my MacBook usage.. i realised there's too much meaning to Gestures and its cool.. (I know all that can ve customised but m talking About the default).. So yeah.. lets get to the point now.. Any good Article, video tip u guys can give to boost my journey and Start loving Mac More.. Shortcut Keys will be appreciated.. {I did google them.. but all of them at once are a bit hard to learn at once}.. Thanks.. 1st post on r/MacOS hope it doesn't get deleted.. Or tell me if there is another sub for this

    safari on macOS has been pretty bad these last few months

    had to switch to chrome recently because:

    1. tabs would randomly refresh
    2. tabs I've deleted an hour ago or so would re-open again
    3. everything loads slow as hell ( I have the new 2021 macbook m1 pro btw). making just google searches would not load properly.
    4. every large site would seem to use significantly more energy and ram than chrome(sites like reddit and youtube were using 1gb+ of ram. tf). It reduced my battery life to the point I thought there was something faulty with my system.
    5. and sites would straight up just say they're unresponsive but work on chrome

    (I want to note I've tried using safari with all extensions disabled. just plain out of the box safari). There is definitely major safari bugs right now but ah well, chrome it is.

    Dual boot MacBook Pro 2021 (Intel) ?

    Hi all! I would know if it's possible to dual boot Monterey, with Mojave. The reason behind this is the 32 bit app support. I can't use a VM because I need full video and audio support.. Can I create a new volume and install Mojave on it? I tried searching on Google but the dual boot guides are for dual booting an older system and a new one.. in my case it's the opposite.. and i do not want to downgrade. Thanks

    Newish to MacOS. I have my Mac Mini M1 set to go to sleep at 22:30, and wake at 07:00.

    Is there a way, in logs or somewhere, to confirm that the Mac is actually performing this feat.? Thanks

    MacOS update and storage issues.

    After moving everything from my computer to the SSD then deleting it from the hard drive I still do not have space to update to the new OS.

    This is becoming extremely inconvenient to complete school work and I am open to any insight or recommendations.

    RAM App memory very high when running very little apps - M1 PRO

    Hi,

    I just switched from Windows to MacOS with the new M1 PRO macbook with 32gigs of RAM and I am wondering why is my app memory number so high (as shown in the screenshot), even when I have almost all applications closed. If I were to sum up the RAM usage of processes running, I would maybe get to about 3-4 GB of RAM, certainly not almost 10.

    Its not affecting the performance, but I am wondering what am I missing, since there is 5+ GB of RAM usage that is used up, but not shown in the processes.

    Admin Storage on Multiple Macs

    Greetings!

    I have multiple Macs that I am logged into as admin. However, I only want to keep any storage on my main Mac. I don't need my files stored on the other machines but it looks like that is done automatically with my admin login.

    How can I delete the files stored under my login on the other comps?

    Hi reddit crew, I have upgraded my laptop Macbook Air 2019 model: A1932 to Bigsur in the past twice and I had to downgrade to Catalina due to poor performance and fast battery draining. Has anyone upgraded this laptop model to Monterey and have had a good experience with it? Please check your laptop model matches the one in question before sharing your experience. Thanks.

    Monterey is sluggish

    I recently updated my Early 2020 MBA (the one right before the M1 model) to Monterey from Catalina, and I feel like I'm pulling my hair out. Everything feels sluggish. Safari and Chrome are the worst offenders. Even typing this feels like I'm working at a delay. Google docs is a nightmare to use, it feels like im squeezing words out of a tube of toothpaste (maybe not that bad but still really not enjoyable to use). Tab switching is slow. It's just really bad all around. I would really prefer not to do a clean install, but also, this is...terrible. Is there anything I might be able to do to fix this?

    USB-C adapter hub not working after Monterey 12.1 on iMac M1, anyone found a fix?

    Honestly this is one of the biggest inconveniences ever, I use a USB-C hub to have external screen output and it was working fine until I updated to 12.1 today. All the fixes I heard are to wait it out; to turn off the external monitor then connect to the iMac and so forth. Does anyone have a solution?

    M1 Max: Activity monitor slow?

    I don't think I need to say a lot here, the video speaks for itself. On my previous Intel machine the processes loaded instantly. Now it's taking over 5 seconds?

    New iMac 24”: navigating to files within time machine backup taken off prior iMac

    I backed up to a Synology NAS. I can see the backup if I navigate to it in Finder but cannot see any backups using Time Machine on new iMac. I don't want to overlay entire backup… just want to grab some files.

    Desktop Notification Alerts behaving like Banners.

    Although the system preference settings for various apps have Alerts selected, all my desktop notifications are behaving like Banners. Any thoughts? MacOS Monterey.

    Screen Time active while Mac is in sleep mode

    My MacBook Air keeps telling that "other" apps are running while the system is on Sleep mode. The laptop is closed on my desk - no screen saver active, etc, and there is no particular app with this activity registered.

    I know that MacOS keeps running while on Sleep mode, cleaning some files, updating system and apps, but this shouldn't count as "Screen Time", right? My weekly report is going nuts with this. Is there anything I can do?
