Weekly /r/iOSGaming Discussion - What have you been playing lately and what do you recommend? Posted: 26 Dec 2021 04:00 PM PST Please use this thread to discuss whatever iOS games you've been playing lately. They don't have to be new games, they can be old games and they do not have to be iOS original titles! As long as it's an iOS game it belongs in here. Make sure to put the name(s) of the game(s) in bold to make it easier for people skimming the thread to see what you're talking about, and if you'd like to make it really convenient turn the game name into a hyperlink that sends people directly to the App Store! To keep track of the thread, the comments are sorted by "new" by default. [link] [comments]

iOS effortpost - every game on my phone, each with a short review. One month in. Posted: 26 Dec 2021 12:37 PM PST Edit: Adding games in a comment in real time. The hunt continues. :) This is going to be a long one. Initially I was just going to post a couple of pictures, but I wanted to say more about these games and why I have them. Here's the pictures, first up: I moved over from Android at the beginning of the month. It's been a slow (and somewhat expensive) process of getting everything I had on this new phone. I'm no expert on mobile gaming, but probably 97% of my gaming is done on a phone. So I at least have an opinion. Anyway, here's the list, in text, along with a short description of the game and why this game is on my phone. 7 Billion Humans & Human Resource Machine - both by Tomorrow Corporation (Little Inferno), these are thinly veiled programming games. You're taught a very basic programming language (assembly in HRM and something resembling Logo in 7BH) and given some little people to irritate with your performance. They're great. 80 Days - This is just a neat game. I've never read the book the game is based on. It's mostly about narrative decisions and optimizing your strategy. The same devs (Inkle, I think) have another game about killing people on a ship I might look into. Backgammon+ (Apple Arcade) - one of the better Backgammon games I've seen on mobile. It's decent and doesn't play idiotically. Bad North - A unique little defend the base type game. Cool graphics and aesthetics. Battleheart - With all of the content - updates were made to this game that never came to Android, so I'll be looking forward to playing through this classic again. It's a fun party based RPG with really excellent controls. Black Border - Basically Papers, Please, but on mobile. Black Desert Mobile - One of the prettiest auto play MMORPGs out there. It's massive and there's plenty to do. I like it better than Genshin. Elder Scrolls Blades - It's not bad if you have the time to devote to it. You build out a little town and then go on trips into the local dungeon for folks to get more stuff to build out your little town. Insanely good graphics. Cards! - I'm not sure about this one yet. It's an adventure puzzle game kind of like Alluris, but there's just one plot line. Civilization VI - The full game DLC that actually allows you to play unhindered was on sale yesterday for $5. Had to get it. No idea if I'll ever play it. Went through the tutorial and it plays great except for that little floating bar thing on the bottom of the screen. It's an iOS feature and there are ways to turn it off, but it's annoying. Crossy Road (Apple Arcade) - The Apple Arcade version is more of a collection game. The tasks are easy to complete to get coins and there's the same game that you know from free. Don't Starve (Apple Arcade) - A survival/crafting game. I owned this on Android and never played it because the screen was too small. Now I have an even smaller screen. So I just have it through AA. Eternium - Until Diablo Immortal comes out, this is what we've got. It's old but it's not showing its age too badly. Hades Star - It's like Evony, but in space and without as much killing other people. Actually kind of relaxing. Idle 1 - I have an idle game problem, as you'll see. This is one of them, and I have it solely because it's an iOS exclusive. Gameplay wise it's not a whole lot different than Adventure Capitalist. Idle Acorns - I haven't been able to get into this one yet. It's slow. Different, though. Kittens Game - Same story here. Slow, different. Kind of a gold standard in the genre. Idle Light City - I'm ashamed this is on here. Moving on… Legends of Runeterra - After Wizards of the Coast made some changes to the way cards are dealt with on their digital version of Magic, I was left looking for another card game. This is what I ended up with. I'm not sure how I feel about it. Machinarium - Adventure/story/puzzle game with excellent art. Was on sale recently. Mario Kart - It's just a really good game. I don't spend a dime, and the multiplayer is legit challenging. Mini Metro - I had this on Android and I like it a lot better than the one on Apple Arcade (Mini Motorways). Need for Speed Most Wanted - This is my favorite racing game. It has crappy customization and it's like 8 years old. It also doesn't have a lot of this BS that modern racers have in them now, which I appreciate, and it's not overcomplicated like GRID. OK Golf - It's just okay. I'm actually looking for a better golf game. Any ideas? Organ Trail - Not the Oregon Trail, this game follows you through a post apocalyptic hell scape with a station wagon instead of a covered wagon. And there's zombies. Osmos - Missing on Android. This is an amazing game and was an instant buy. Still runs great after all these years. Out There - Very similar to 80 Days, but there's more of a focus on managing your ship here. Very narrative driven. Procedural. Outlanders (Apple Arcade) - I haven't gotten into this one yet. It looks pretty cool from the screenshots, and it's on AA so I just grabbed it and it'll be there for whenever I get to it. Pascals Wager - As close as you can get to Dark Souls on a phone, I think. Looks great, plays great. The voice acting is a little…not good. Pirates Outlaws - A poor man's Slay the Spire. Kinda grindy. Pocket City - Sim City on the phone, but not P2W. I heard the dev is working on a sequel. Polytopia - Not sure how much play this will see now that I have 'Civ 6, but I've got this too just in case. Potion Punch - There's no Diner Dash to be had anymore, so this is a good facsimile. Lots of locations and ingredients. No forced ads that I saw, but also no way to disable them. Ads will give you gems or double income for a bit. Raid Manager - Run your own 5 man dungeon party. IAP are unnecessary, as you can grind anything you can buy. Really Bad Chess - I'm awful at this. Not even sure why I have it on my phone. Solomons Keep & Solomons Boneyard - These were games I had on my phone a decade ago. Basically twin stick shooters with zombies and spells. Lots of fun, neat art. Shadowgate - A remake of a classic NES game. Excellent graphics and very challenging. Point and click adventure type game. Smash Hit - You throw balls at glass crystals and break them. It's a lot more satisfying than it sounds. Song Pop Party (AA) - If you've played one Song Pop game you've played them all. It's basically name that tune. Star Trek (AA) - Mild gacha, no P2W since it's on Apple Arcade. It's not bad for what it is. Tap Knight - Indie dev, clicker game. I think it was free yesterday. Trees & Tents - Kinda easy logic puzzle game. Good to pass the time. It reminds me of another one that has castles you had to merge, except they only looked alike. Totally different games otherwise. Edit: That game was Farms and Castles by Square Enix, and it's missing. This War of Mine - Got it on sale. This game is far too depressing to pay full price for. Threes (AA) - A fun puzzle game with cute graphics and music. Not worth its normal asking price. Thumper - I bought this outright. I own it on 4 different platforms now, and I'll buy it on anything else I have to play it on. It's wild. Watch some gameplay videos. Ticket to Earth - Color matching RPG with an actual story. I'm not sure what it is since I clicked through it, but it has one if you like that kind of thing. :p Troll Patrol - Dungeon Raid resurrected. Basically a fantasy themed Pudding Pop. And there you are. Let me know if you think of anything that should be on here but isn't. :) [link] [comments]

I have a question about pairing controllers Posted: 27 Dec 2021 02:58 AM PST I recently got a Nintendo switch pro controller for Christmas and I was wondering if I could connect it to my ipad. Have a wonderful holiday too! [link] [comments]
Posted: 27 Dec 2021 02:36 AM PST Hello, I was wondering if FNAF made their iOS releases a regular habit seeing as all five of the originals are out? Security breach looks really fun and there are similar games on phones already. Also are there any "big" games from PC (no matter how old) that are available on iOS? I have the GTA trilogy port for instance and I was really happy with that aside from the well known bugs and GTA III´s handling (which wasn't great on PC either but at least one could actually aim) Thank you fellow iOS gamers! Help finding a game similar to one I played a few years ago Posted: 26 Dec 2021 07:47 AM PST Around 2017 I think I was using a shitty android phone to play this one world-building game whose main gimmick was that you would get special rewards or events in-game that matched the IRL weather (which it determined just using location and the internet or whatever). I don't care so much about the weather gimmick but I liked that it was kind of a mystical relaxing world building game instead of all the ones where you're focused on pvp and accomplishing 20 different quests at once. Mostly though I just want something with the same vibe as the original. I can't remember exactly what it was like but it took place in the forest with creatures that remind me of Pikmin (even though I've never played Pikmin, seeing Niantic's game made me think of the one I used to play). That's all probably not helpful. I guess I'm looking for a world building game that's more lighthearted/magical/mystical based than industrial? Also if anyone can remember the name of the weather game I used to play that'd be cool to know too. [link] [comments]

Any other games like CHUCHEL out there? Posted: 26 Dec 2021 05:49 AM PST Hi guys I'm a huge fan of Amanita Design. They made Botanicula and Samorost etc. I recently purchased Chuchel while it was on sale and I couldn't get enough of it. I'm looking for something similar - weird humor, cool mechanics, and a weird game world. Any help? Thanks! [link] [comments]

Posted: 26 Dec 2021 12:51 AM PST I am looking for something like Evony. Preferably portrait mode. Newer graphics. In terms of pvp, I prefer if it's something less brutal as in you cannot be zeroed or something along the line of coc kind, The theme should be in mediaeval or fantasy kind. Meaning no modern mafia type. Also pls don't recommend clones of evony like kings legion etc. Thanks [link] [comments] |
