    Safari

    1. Opening links. Safari a lot of times refuses to open links tapped in any other app. You need to go back and tap the link again. Seems to happen more likely when it isn't opened for an hour.
    2. Animations. Swipe up on the address bar and swipe left on the tab to close, but the new tab zooming into view delays for half a second instead of immediately… just why?
    3. Address bar. If you made a typo, want to add a new search term, or want to edit the URL… tapping on the bar immediately selects all text. You can't immediately edit a word or the link if you tap too soon because then it selects the word or part of the link where you tapped. Thereby making you wait for half a second before allowing you to place the cursor where you want instead of selecting text again.

    Shortcuts

    1. …this is so buggy I don't know where to begin. An annoyance is that the animations take so much time. Sure you can select an option in a Menu action before it finishes dropping down completely. But you must wait for it to finish dropping down before the shortcut can continue with the next action. And if the final action has no visual confirmation (shortcuts added to home screen), it gives the drop-down with the little tick to let you know it has successfully completed the shortcut, but you can't interact with anything until the drop down box completely goes away + 1 second. Spam-swiping up the home bar in hopes of making it go away faster will make the interface stuck and you have to lock and unlock for it to return to normal.

    2. Adding an action. Hold and drag a new action into the editor sometimes causes spasm and may not even be added successfully.

    Shortcuts isn't what it used to be: simple, convenient, smooth, speedy. I've noticed that ever since updating to iOS 15 I've been using it much, much, much lesser now compared to spending hours upon hours crafting and exploring what it can do, pre-iOS 15 Shortcuts. Creating a shortcut now isn't without plenty of crashes or bad performance.

    Other annoyance

    Connected to This iPhone Automatically popup when you wear your AirPods prevents swiping down to invoke notification center for god knows what reason, until it goes away on its own or you swipe it up manually.

    These little annoyances really add up. Let me know what you think!

    iPhone not sending notifications?

    I've been having this problem since the iOS 15 update, and I am at a loss. I have several apps that are not sending me any notifications, such as my Nest, Facebook Messenger, and LG Think (tells me when my washer is done). These are the three that I can definitively say are not showing notifications, though I have no idea how many other apps may be affected that I haven't noticed. I have other apps that seem to miss notifications periodically, like PayPal (I received 3 payments over the weekend and only got notified for one of them). I have checked and rechecked all my notification setting in those apps, and checked the notification setting in the iPhone settings. Everything is turned on the way it should be. I have an old iPhone that I use as an alarm clock and the notifications show up on that phone. I haven't set up any focuses, and Do Not Disturb is turned off. I have uninstalled and reinstalled my FB Messenger and Nest app, restarted the phone multiple times, and updated to the 15.1 update… This has been a problem for over a month, and it is starting to cause problems because I'm a small business owner, and occasionally clients contact me through Facebook… Does anyone have any ideas on what else I can try??

    I have this problem:

    I have set up Face ID to unlock my ipad. But I still need to swipe up to get to the home screen which is annoying.

    I want to have my ipad open the home screen without swiping up.

    My solution which I don't see posted anywhere yet:

    1. Enable assistive touch (search for it in Settings)
    2. Under Custom Actions: make Single-Tap open Home. You can use Double-Tap or something else in there too.

    Now this is how I get to home screen from a turned-off ipad:

    1. Tap the screen (enabled Tap to Wake in Settings)
    2. Tap the virtual home button once.

    Tapping the virtual home button once to get to home screen is also useful when the ipad is already opened.

    Anybody know where I can find the original earth at night iPhone background??? I changed my accident just for a second and didn’t realize it wasn’t in the wallpaper library anymore!! Wouldn’t have changed it if I knew it was gone…

    iOS 15.1 is the most fucked up iOS version I used since iOS 3

    I've been a long time Iphone user. I was very satisfied and happy with it until the last 2 weeks, when it automatically upgraded the iOS 15 to iOS 15.1 on my Iphone XS. I've never seen nor expected to get this much of a buggy piece of software from a "respected" company such as Apple. My Iphone (which was working perfectly before the iOS upgrade) is unusable right now. It gets stuck every few seconds. It becomes unresponsive and the only solution I have is to keep turning it on and off until it gets responsive for another few seconds, then back to the unresponsive state. It is so annoying. In addition to all of that I don't have the option of downgrading the iOS without resetting my Iphone!

    Is this what we get from 1000$ phones?

    How can I reduce “other” which is taking up 30GB of my 64GB storage?

    I Have used 61GB out of 64GB. 6.64 GB is taken up by system which is understandable however 30.12 GB is taken up by "Other"??? What is other and how can I reduce this figure? I read online that I have to backup my phone and reload it? I'm no tech expert I'm not sure what that means. Is there any other easy way to reduce the figure?

    Are new iOS versions really that horrible, or are you being picky

    Some people say that ios 15.1 is horrible, laggy etc while there are other people that say they haven't noticed anything in their daily use and they like it. If newer iOS versions are that horroble my guess is that everyone would be complaining? In my opinion i really don't like the app drawer thing and widgets, ios now seems bloated a bit and i liked it more when it was just 'bland" but it was simple and great.

    iPhone 13 pro Max photo processing

    Hi guys!

    I got the iPhone 13 pro max last week and I've noticed the phone does some weird processing to the pictures. I've seen many other people complaining about this too.

    Pictures look too sharp, overexposed and blurry.

    I've noticed if you take a picture with the live feature on and you change the frame that you want to keep it doesn't procces it that way and keeps it looking good.

    Have you noticed too?

    Any idea on how to turn this off???

    It looks really ugly and fake.

    Focus Mode Question

    Do anyone else's focus modes turn on all the time for no real reason?

    I like the idea of the different Focus modes in theory but I feel like mine turn on constantly with no pattern or trigger.

    For example I have always had DND turned on from 12am-7am (the update turned it off, which was not helpful) but after I fixed it for some reason Personal kicked on sometime in the night and my 3rd party alarm didn't make a noise / vibrate.

    But beyond that I feel like some form of Focus (usually personal) turns on literally throughout the day and I'm constantly having to turn it off. I don't have any personalized settings on right now beyond DND at night / don't ignore my alarm. There's no explanation in the settings app beyond "relevant app usage/location" but I don't see a pattern I've exhibited in either of those to constantly trigger it. Again I like the idea in theory (I read on my phone quite a bit and wouldn't mind it kicking on then) but it's becoming so I have to constantly check my phone to see if I have actually missed something because Focus has turned on with no notification

    Is the dictionary (Look Up) function unfixable?

    The Look Up function now doesn't work as well. I want to use it for dictionary only, but now it sometimes doesn't show the definition at all, and instead shows a movie with the word in the title or another web search. "Prodigious" or "hellacious" are cases of this, yet "bullet" will pull up the dictionary definition despite being a much more common word. What causes this difference and is there anyway to always pull up the dictionary definition?

    A quick question about iOS camera and mic access: Why do apps like DeepL not require you to grant access?

    I hope this question has not been answered too often in regards to this or other apps.

    Named translator app uses speech to text and image based text recognition to translate into the preferred language. To do this, you can either select photos, files or use an in-app camera to take photos. All that without a single dialogue to grant permissions to the camera, mic or photos.

    Now, I've been wondering about this for a while: is it that iOS apps can hand over such tasks to the system?

    Lossless audio stops when the phone screen locks

    iPhone 13 Pro Max, iOS 15.1. As the title says, lossless music stops when the phone screen locks. The track will continue and the audio will come back on when the screen is turned back on as if nothing happened (if the screen is locked for 10 seconds, the track will continue "playing" for those 10 seconds but without audio). This seems to happen only with the phone speakers and wired headphones - I do not experience this with my airpods. I've tried deleting and re-downloading the Apple Music app and restarting my phone multiple times. Anyone else have experience with this issue, and if so, do you have a workaround?

    iPhone XR - alarm fade?

    Hi! My iPhone alarm 'fades' inconsistently - sometimes it fades in and sometimes it doesn't. I'm wondering what causes this and how might I set it so that it fades in all the time. I've looked under Sounds & Haptics, but the option doesn't appear to be there.

    Hi all, so since some days (maybe since the last update) I don't get notified about new Telegram Messages and new E-Mails. With other apps I haven't noticed it yet.

    Typically Telegram would only retrieve new messages when I'm currently in the app. Then notifications will also work, but it stops working after exiting the app.

    I tried to toggle all the options without great success. Since I read in a blogpost that many users have that problem right now, I thought I ask here. Have you guys experienced and fixed it?

    i have also another problem.

    i have a old backup from my iphone 6 and i remember it used to open with some windows extractor software, but now there is no data in it. When i open the backup with a back up viewer it there isnt any pics videos

    So months ago I brought $5 itunes gift card from an online store and soon I realised that it wont work cuz i dont live in US unfortunately (well of course it came it out be US gift card). So I decided to change the apple country/region from settings in order to claim that gift card, it worked actually but now since I've managed to leave 2 cents in my account Im not able to change my country/region back it just shows "you have a store credit balance ; you must spend it before you can change stores". Now Im stuck with this situation and how the hell I will spend 2 cents 💀

    iOS photo scan app needed: remove reflections, auto-crop, auto-enhance, Windows export

    My parents gave me a few non-digital photo albums I should make digital.

    I thought scanning with my ipad would be the fastest way as my mobile phone cam sucks and I don't have a scanner.

    I now have two problems: 1. It's a lot to scan and I mean A LOT. 2. I'm lazy. I don't want to manually configure lots of stuff and post-edit each photo for a minute. I'd love to go scan - check- save - scan - check - save - scan - check - quick edit - save etc.

    The regular photo app doesn't help as it does not crop (automatically).

    I've tried Google photo scan so far as it gets recommended a lot: I dislike the 4 dot scanning technique, this will take ages.

    I've also tried Clearscan. It works quite well but I'll still have to do more things manually than I'd like. Not sure about the scan quality at the moment it seemed better than google photo scan actually.

    I need the following:

    - good scanning quality (duh)

    - auto remove reflections

    - auto detect corners and therefore autocrop

    - auto enhance and make image quality better

    - easy export to windows 10, no cloud export needed. Just with cable.

    Any more suggestions? Tomorrow I'll try microsoft office lens as it also has a good reputation.

    Like what the heck, it makes the screen feel way smaller and harder to tell if there's multiple notifications stacked on top of each other.

    This is the especially bad for group chats and stylistically makes it feel blocky

    Feel like this is a massive display downgrade.

    Is there a way to make them revert to previous size? So far 15.1 is the first time I've actually regretted updating

    WhatsApp Not Showing in Notification

    I have updated my Iphone to the new iOS15.1.1 it is not showing Notifications of some Apps and some messages and calls on Apps not showing unless i open the App. WhatsApp is not showing messages or calls. I need help as this is part of my work and i'm missing important business calls.
