Do not disturb mode doesn't turn off after given hours Posted: 02 Dec 2021 02:03 AM PST I'm on IOS 15, but this issue happened on all IOS 14 versions as well for me. Iphone 13 pro if that makes a difference. I have do not disturb mode on from midnight to 8 am every single day. Around 2-4 times a week this mode doesn't turn off at 8 am and i wake up at 11 seeing that it's still on. I have to go into the settings and manually turn it off. And when i do it says it will turn it off at 8 am. Which you know was 3 hours ago. How can i fix this? [link] [comments] |

I have a screen time password that I forgot, and is set up with another Apple Account I also forgot the password to. If I log into Find My, on the Apple Account that my iPhone is running on, reset my phone using Lost Mode, and set up my phone again, will Screen Time appear? And if it does, is there any other fix to it? Thank you. [link] [comments] |
Black bars on iPad when using to extend display? Posted: 02 Dec 2021 01:30 AM PST I have a 2019 MacBook Pro and a 12.9 inch iPad Pro. Before upgrading to Monterey a few weeks ago, I used sidecar to extend my display to the iPad and it worked great! The iPad was full screen and fully responsive. Since upgrading to Monterey, however, I now use the display settings to extend my display. It still works, but it seems there is a resolution matching issue. There are black bars on the top and bottom of the ipad (16:9?) which shrinks the useable display area significantly and makes text hard to read. Has anyone else had this issue? Are there any known solutions at this time? Thanks much in advance! [link] [comments] |
iPhone XS bootloop. Read description Posted: 02 Dec 2021 01:09 AM PST Help, it already has happened to me a few times already but recently, I was in the showers when my phone dropped on the wet floor so I instantly took it and dried it with a towel. The screen glitched with the apple logo in it so I panicked. As soon as I finished taking a bath, I put the phone in a rice for like 10 minutes and then I took it and I thought it was fixed already bc I was able to use it after. A day after, as I was going to sleep, my phone was kinda low on battery but I decided not to charge it because I was gonna charge my iPad and that's when the bootloop happened again in the morning. It's been 2 days, and I've been trying to hard reset my phone and trying to update it through my laptop which doesn't work because as soon as the process is like halfway thru in iTunes while the phone is in Recovery mode, my phone starts bootlooping again. Thoughts? The first times it happened to me was back months then and it fixed by itself in hours. Help please [link] [comments] |

Disabling autocorrect on swipe keyboard iPhone Posted: 02 Dec 2021 12:34 AM PST I always have autocorrect turned off. I cant stand it and it rarely works for me. But the most annoying thing is when I am typing with one hand utilizing the swipe keyboard functionality. I will finish a word and it will be correct. Then i will finish the next word and it will try to use context to correct the previous word retroactively and it NEVER works. For instance, when I type the word "don't" it will work just fine, then i type out the next word and it will simply remove the apostrophe. I have no idea why it does this but sometimes it will change words entirely to that which are totally unrelated. To add to the struggle, I'll tap on the word to change it back and the correct word isn't even listed, which makes me delete the entire word and retype it manually while only using my left thumb. I hate third party keyboards so I would prefer to continue to use apples keyboard, so if there is a possible workaround, I'd like to know about it. If anybody could help me out it would be greatly appreciated. Cheers [link] [comments] |

Flickering when mirroring with MacBook Air M1 to new LG 32UN500! Posted: 02 Dec 2021 12:10 AM PST Hey all, Just got myself my first monitor, an LG 32UN500. Supports up to 4K 60FPS, exactly what I need to use with my MacBook Air M1. I knew that I needed to buy an HDMI to USB-C adaptor to use with the HDMI cable shipped with the monitor, so I got myself this UGREEN adaptor which mentions supporting 4K @ 60FPS and had good reviews. Once plugged and running, I checked in the monitor's settings and it is indeed at this resolution and FPS, however whenever the image on screen changes rapidly, there is a few flickers that happen (not sure if frame drops or gray/white frames replacing original frames). In other words, when typing something all is fine but when watching a video or scrolling fast there's flickering every few seconds... Could this come from the monitor? Doubt it could be the MacBook (It was being powered at the same time just in case). Could be the HDMI cable but I am using the default one shipped with the monitor. My bet is that it comes from the adaptor, but I just want you guys' opinion first before trying to return it. Thanks for your help! [link] [comments] |

Buzzing feeling when touching the aluminium sides of iPhone 13 when charging Posted: 01 Dec 2021 08:14 PM PST When I'm using my iPhone 13 while it's charging, there's a buzzing feeling at the aluminium sides. This stops immediately after I stop charging my iPhone 13. I've not experienced this in older iPhones. Can anyone advise whether this is usual and safe? Thanks. [link] [comments] |

Can off brand usbc adapters destroy a macbook battery? Posted: 01 Dec 2021 10:35 PM PST I bought a pack of three for $8.99. They would sometimes say "the adapter is using too much power and will disable" and I'd unplug and plug back in. Sometimes I would ignore the message and continue using the adapter anyway because even though it would say it would disable the port it would continue working. I used the adapter so I could plug in my phone and charge it through my computer. I read that batteries protect themselves from stuff like this so I guess I didn't think it would cause problems for the battery itself, more that the adapter might go bad. They were so cheap I didn't really care if they quit working. Anywho, the battery in my 1 year old macbook is fried and needed to be replaced. Is it cause of the adapter or is it just a fluke? Apple TV dims while watching YouTube Posted: 01 Dec 2021 09:47 PM PST I recently bought a 4K TV (an LG Class C1 series) and an Apple TV 4K to go with it. When we are watching longer videos on YouTube, after watching for a few minutes, the video dims. If we pause and resume the video, the video returns to normal brightness only to dim again a few minutes later. It doesn't seem to do this with other streaming apps though we haven't had it long enough to fully test each streaming app. Any ideas what might be going on and how to stop it? [link] [comments] |
My brand new AirPods came in with zero charge. Is that supposed to be the case? Posted: 01 Dec 2021 09:42 PM PST I have bought several Apple products over the years, and they've always been charged enough so that the product can be set up. I bought a new pair of AirPods from Best Buy for Black Friday, but when I tried setting them up, I noticed that they simply wouldn't pair with my iPhone. Like I'd hold it near my phone and nothing would happen. I then noticed that the charging light was black, indicating to me that it's completely dead. Is this ever a possibility? Did I get returned/used AirPods? 🤢 [link] [comments] |

Iphone 12 Pro Max stuck crashing/rebooting CANT RESTORE OR UPDATE Posted: 01 Dec 2021 09:19 PM PST HELP i literally do not even care about the shit on my phone at this point. I simply want to be able to access it. It started telling me about space issues a day ago I have been busy, i thought i would fix it today. Between today and yesterday i have experienced issues with it crashing. I would be on facebook or another app and it would just crash and ruin my home screen (move my apps around and create blank spaces) i would restart and it would be fine for a moment before having said issues again. This morning i began to have this issue but everytime i even opened the phone it would briefly be on my home screen and then crash consistently to a point i could not do anything. It has now progressed so far i cannot open the home screen, it simply cycles through crashing over and over until it restarts on its own over and over again. I have tried everything i can find on google. I cannot access itunes as you need to be able to open the phone to allow itunes access and i cannnot do that. I have entered recovery mode and tried to update, of course it has no space. I have tried to restore but it will NOT allow me to restore without updating. It literally does not give the option to restore only so of course i attempted this 5 times but it makes it about half way before saying it does not have space and to clear and recycle or try again later. I am at a loss, i literally have nothing really to lose (photos and everything are stored with google so literally fuck the rest) I just want to open the damn thing without it crashing. I havent even paid it off yet so im literally freaking out, I run my business 99% through my phone so I NEED IT. Please i am googling my fingers off. I just need help. [link] [comments] |
