MacBook Air M1 External display issues Posted: 12 Nov 2021 12:35 AM PST Hey. Few days ago I noticed that my external display went crazy when I work with photos in Pixelmator pro. Just opened another photo and noticed that lights (or whatever that is) starts blinking. Its looks like something went wrong with refresh rate. That issue goes away just after 30-60 minutes I closed everything and tried to turn off/on every cable I have. 2 days after I open photo and just after 5-10 seconds, my monitor shows me giant, thick vertical lines that blink every time I try to move something in workspace. I noticed that glitches mostly come from grey/light grey colors. Every time something grey appears on the screen - boom, here we go. Those glitches appear while I'm working in Pixelmator and they're still there even if I connect another pc via HDMI. What I tried: - change power source, primarily change sockets and stuff (guess entire power input in my apartments are bad and I need good UPS) - turn monitor on/off - change color profiles - mba retina monitor looks fine, so its not interface bug - turn off/on True Tone and auto light adjustment - change resolution and refresh rate No result That thing just shows up and disappears with time, if I don't do anything with pixelmator or grey colored interface for a while. Separately from Pixelmator grey interfaced apps works fine. So Pixelmator seems to be the cause. MBA M1 2020 16/256 video: [link] [comments]
Posted: 12 Nov 2021 12:30 AM PST I use my Macbook Pro 16" with touchbar (USB-C ports only) for work, I used to have keyboard, mouse and monitor(s) at the office which were all connected to a little hub and to my mac via single USB-C. Because I now work permanently from home I'd like to do the same with my desktop PC without having to plug and unplug stuff all the time. Are there some cool devices that would allow me to do that? Note: I'd also want to keep using my 1440p@144hz resolution [link] [comments]
FIX: MBP USB-C to DisplayPort Connection (for Samsung G7 Monitor 27" and 32") Posted: 11 Nov 2021 10:49 PM PST The fix is as simple as DISABLING Automatic Graphics Switching so that the AMD GPU takes over and allows for DisplayPort connection. :) Hope this helped! Proven to work on Macbooks on any AMD GPU. Supports DisplayPort versions 1.1, 1.2 and 1.4. My MBP 16" 2019 is currently outputting 240Hz at native external display resolution in clamshell mode. There's also the ability to select variable refresh rate. I'm running Monterey 12.1 beta. Tested to work on Samsung G7 32" QHD 240Hz monitor. [link] [comments]

How does the 60day period for Apple Care + work? Posted: 11 Nov 2021 09:09 AM PST It says 60 days from date of purchase. But it takes 15 days to ship it to me, so do I only get 45 days to buy apple care? Or does it start counting from the date of delivery or something? [link] [comments]
M1 macbook air battery life not updating Posted: 11 Nov 2021 06:06 PM PST So I've had my m1 macbook air for around a week now and It's been a pretty flawless experience other than a few keys that felt weird an this battery problem I can seem to fix. After two days of using the macbook, after charging the macbook then using it afterwards, it doe snot update the battery life, it stays at the same percentage unless I restart it sane for charging, after using the macbook than putting it to charge, it will not show the battery life going up unless I restart it. I've tried lots of things, have contacted Apple support, tried safe mode, factory reset, letting the laptop die, yes I have the latest update, Apple seems clueless about the solution, now I must admit, it might be because I used a third party cable (not charger) to charge it, but as far as I know only chargers can cause problems. Anyway Im looking for any tips or possible solutions, any help would be appreciated, thanks you in advance [link] [comments]

Should I keep my late 2013 MacBook Pro... Posted: 11 Nov 2021 02:40 PM PST Should I keep my late 2013 MacBook Pro, just so I can continue to use my Adobe CS6 apps for free? If I get rid of it, I get a $340 trade-in credit on my new MacBook Pro. If I keep the late 2013, I can use Photoshop, Premiere, InDesign, and Adobe Acrobat Pro without having to pay a monthly subscription. I'm leaning this way... [link] [comments]
How durable are the frames on M1 Macs? Posted: 11 Nov 2021 02:27 PM PST I have an M1 air and it's been one of my best purchases. I've been keeping it in a case and because the case is shitty plastic the case isn't doing so hot anymore. I don't take my mac anywhere where they get beat up (I'm a student) so I don't know that I need it anyway but I've heard that the aluminum frame scratches easily. I do keep it in a sleeve most days and it comes out to work. If I use my spiral notebook I will sometimes set it on the mac and write on it. From time to time I will write on it with paper and pencil. I don't want it to scratch/dent or any of that. Am I fine to take it off? [link] [comments]
Posted: 11 Nov 2021 01:12 PM PST hi i'm have a mba m1, with macOS big sur, and i don't want to update to the monterey (i've heard it makes problems with ableton and other stuff). Now, i need to reboot my mac soon (going on a trip). will it automatically update to monterey when i reboot? How do i stop automatic updates?- in the "software update" window, if i uncheck the "automatically keep my mac up to date"- would that be enough? thanks [link] [comments]
How much can I sell this 2012 MacBook Pro for? Posted: 11 Nov 2021 06:58 AM PST I bought it used a couple years ago. Opened it up to replace the battery, max out the RAM, and replace the HDD and a SDD. When I opened it, I noticed that a few screws were missing so someone opened it in the past before I got it. No idea why. Works great though. How much could I sell it for? SSD is 512GB [link] [comments]
MacBook sent in for repair- full refund issued? Posted: 11 Nov 2021 11:08 AM PST Essentially want the title says, my friend send in her laptop because the screen began showing lines across it. She took it to the Apple store and told her there's a chance it won't fall under warranty and they'll charge her if it doesn't. A few days later she gets a notification that her refund is being processed. She talked to someone today and they said sorry they haven't sent it back yet and she brought up the refund and they didn't know what they were talking about. Anything similar happen to anyone else? Is this just a temporary refund of some sort? I'm not sure if the refund has cleared or not but on her order updates it shows that her refund is being processed. [link] [comments]

Posted: 11 Nov 2021 03:37 AM PST Hello, i have just updated my macbook pro (2019) to the last update of macOS Monterey and i am having issues with Bluetooth and Wi-fi. My headphones keeps disconnecting whenever i try to connect them, i was using them before and i never had this problem, they work fine with my phone, and this only happens to this pair, when i tried other ones they worked. And for some reason my wifi is so slow or sometimes doesn't work at all when i try to switch to my cellular data from iPhones. Please if anyone id having these kind of issues hmu on dms, or if anyone knows how to solve that. I contacted apple support they gave some stuff to try such as reseting bluetooth, SMS and Nvidia ram . [link] [comments]
Macbook Pro 2020 13" with three external monitors Posted: 11 Nov 2021 03:19 AM PST I am trying to use my Macbook with three external monitors. Checked this but could not find a solution yet. My laptop is: MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2020, Four Thunderbolt 3 ports) with 2 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i5 32 GB 3733 MHz LPDDR4X Intel Iris Plus Graphics 1536 MB All of my monitors are the same: Samsung S24F350 (HDMI) I have three 3-in-1 Type C adapters like this (Type C, USB, HDMI) I read Macbook Pro 13" does not support three external monitors, but is there a workaround for this? Would a Thunderbolt 3 Dock with multiple HDMI ports work? I hope someone else had a similar experience and found a solution. [link] [comments] |
