The spirit of Steve Jobs in the iPhone 13 Mini

    Posted: 30 Sep 2021 02:42 PM PDT

I'll keep this short and hopefully simple. It feels like the spirit of everything Steve Jobs stood for and cared about is in the iPhone 13 Mini. I've had this phone for 24 hours now, having switched from the 12 Pro and then the XS Max before that.

This 13 Mini feels like homecoming. This phone feels like a phone that Steve would have had a hand in making; a phone that he himself would have loved. It is made for one hand, light, fast, powerful and beyond fully equipped. Though naturally, in Steve Jobs form and fashion, he would have certainly had something to bitch about. But of all the available iPhones, it feels like this is the one he would be pulling out of his pocket.

I'm glad I returned to this form factor. It feels right. It just works.

There is talk about this one being the last of its kind, and I think that would be a shame if it's true. Obviously, it all comes down to the market and the bottom line. But if it's at least somewhat manageable on Apple's part, I think they shouldn't give up on it just yet.

iPhone suddenly has a lot more storage after updating to iOS 15?

    Posted: 30 Sep 2021 04:56 PM PDT

I'm still rocking a 6S 32 GB iPhone which has always been low on storage. But after a Restore to the latest iOS, I suddenly have 15GBs of my storage available to me, with the same apps installed. When I did the Restore, I was at about 5GBs. — which was still significant considering I could only ever have a max of 1 GB free — but 15 GBs, suddenly, and after a few days of Restore?!

Is this a bug or what?

EDIT: Telegram and a few other apps are displaying free storage closer to my expectations, I assume it definitely is a bug.

    Size and weight

    Posted: 30 Sep 2021 03:06 PM PDT

I am curious about Your opinion on size and weight of new iPhones last years. I was using 5s, 6s and then X and these were great phones but I saw constant increase year to year so when 12 mini appeared I was all in for "modern 5s". Now owning it for a year now I wish the screen was 120 hz, battery life was better and battery health did not disappeared so quickly. I was decided to order 13pro to get all good stuff but I went to apple store and checked it. It was so great, even better than expected. But that size and weight is just unacceptable guys… I could not comfortably hold it and use it with one hand (I mean some gestures on each corner) I was afraid I would drop it on the first day. It was so annoying that after coming home I ordered 13 mini with comfort in my mind that it will be the phone that I can use as a tool and not expensive instrument being focused on not to dropped it. Am I weird?

Was anyone else surprised by the weight of the Iphone 13 Pro Max?

    Posted: 30 Sep 2021 09:51 AM PDT

I have carried around my 12 PM and never thought it was too heavy. I received my 13 PM this week and I find that just holding it my hand my hand while sitting or laying down my hand gets tired and i need to use both hands to support it. What do any of you think who have the 13 PM- any second thoughts about your purchase?
