| Computers app no longer preloading video into SSD Posted: 02 Oct 2021 12:34 AM PDT In past, when watching video off local network, the Computers app on the Apple TV would preload several GB of the video into its SSD to ensure smooth playback. Despite it continuing to do so after upgrading to tvOS 15, it suddenly stopped doing so today, even after hard rebooting. Now I'm getting breaks in video playback every few minutes because of this. Has anyone else experienced this? Any fixes? I have an app that shows up how much space is available and normally it drops when preloading video, but now doesn't budge, even with large video file open. [link] [comments]  | ||

I tried air playing to my TV from the iPad but it kept switching back and forth between the iPad and Apple TV. I assume the answer is "no" but is there any way to get it to run on the Apple TV? | AirPlay audio issues with the current os Posted: 01 Oct 2021 11:40 PM PDT I think my appletv 4K must have updated to the latest 15.0 OS since I'm all of a sudden experiencing audio out of sync issues. I've been airplaying the audio to Audio pro c10 speaker without issues up until yesterday. Anyone else experiencing the same? "The wireless audio sync" feature in the audio menu isn't fixing this since it plays the audio from my projector's speaker, not the AirPlay speaker SMH. Also, the only application that I've ALWAYS had AirPlay issues with is the YouTube app. The audio just stops about 5-10 seconds into any video when the audio is set to the AirPlay speaker. | New Apple TV 2021 4k Remote not working Posted: 01 Oct 2021 11:15 PM PDT Hey guys, purchased a new apple tv 4k 2021 about a week ago. Controller has been working fine for most days. I noticed the batteries seem to have drained pretty fast. My remote got to 30 percent or so last night so I ended up plugging it in and leaving it over night. After this morning, the remote will not work unless it's plugged in. The moment I take it off the charger, it just disconnects and will not pair no matter what I do. It literally isn't recognized by the apple tv once it gets turned unplugged from the charger. I have reset the apple tv, I have powered it off completely for a long time, I have tried to reset the remote pairing when it's charged. Nothing works. Anyone else having this issue? Randomly a few nights ago, my surround sound setup randomly stopped connecting to my TV directly (it is hooked up through HDMI), and now will only connect via bluetooth to my Apple TV. Also my I cannot control my TV (powering on/off, volume) with my Apple TV remote now, I've looked up every solution and all my settings for my TV and Apple TV are correct. Any advice? So as a result I just tied screen mirroring my phone to the TV to see if I could use my beats or airpods with my phone and listen through that while it's being projected to the monitor through the Apple TV. But it isn't working. It needs to be a 4K as I also have a HomePod mini and want to be able to configure the Apple TV to use the mini as audio out- this is only possible on the 4K units. I can see guides to mod the 4th gen (HD) ATV to 12v but not much for the 5th gen (4K) and above. I'd be happy with 12v or usb/usbc power- anything that I can power off batteries without an inverter. Posted: 01 Oct 2021 04:03 PM PDT At first I thought I just forgot to plug in charger in properly, but it's clear that my remotes are zeroing in just a few days vs weeks before I acknowledge that the remotes are older and having to replace them was inevitable, but it seems very suspicious that 2 remotes start showing the same excessive drain immediately post update. It leads me to believe there's a firmware issue keeping them in a higher power state 24x7. I've ordered some gen 2 remotes so I'm not pressed for any solutions. Just wondering if anyone else has seen the same. *recharges Edit: forgot to mention, though i don't think it was related, All of my remotes, even the 1 gen 2 i have, lost their pairings after the update. Posted: 01 Oct 2021 02:01 PM PDT There seems to be an issue with the Apple TV for songs on Apple Music that are in Dolby Audio and not Dolby Atmos (basically standard 5.1), in which everything plays out of the left speaker only. The bug doesn't seem to be there on iOS or computers. If you have your Apple TV hooked up to an a/v receiver, can you test the following songs and see if you have that issue. | Help - Apple TV remote not pairing properly after IOS 15 update Posted: 01 Oct 2021 04:41 PM PDT My apple tv (4K, second generation) will not finish pairing with my apple tv remote after having auto updated to IOS 15. It previously worked flawlessly, but now cannot control the volume and I cannot use Siri. When I attempt to re-pair the remote with the tv, it says to move the remote closer to finish pairing - I have tried moving it closer and even putting it on top (both face up and face down) and it still won't finish pairing. I have also tried restarting the apple tv and unplugging it, but this did not work. I do not know what else to try, so I thought I would see if anyone on here had any suggestions, and I am interested to see if anybody else is having the same issue. Thank you and have a great day! | How do I sync AirPlay speakers audio Posted: 01 Oct 2021 05:43 AM PDT Currently when I use AirPlay speakers there is about half a second delay audio/video. Only with wireless speakers (teenage engineering od-11). With TV speakers there are no issues. I have tried Wireless Audio Sync but not sure how it is supposed to work. When sync starts Apple TV switches to the TV speakers. Is this a bug? Appreciate the help. This is driving me insane! Edit: It seems like I'm not the only one experiencing this issue. | Posted: 01 Oct 2021 07:19 AM PDT I use Hulu to fall asleep at night. Everyone knows the "are you still watching" pop up usually appears after a set number of episodes are played and the appletv will shut off if you don't respond in a certain amount of time. This works well for me because I don't get woken up in the middle of the night with tv still on. But for the past 2-3 months, that has not been happening. So the show plays throughout the whole night, tv stays on because it never "times out". Spoke with Hulu support, they said they haven't heard of this issue. Tried with roku and it works fine. So I'm guessing it's an appletv issue. I've deleted and reinstalled Hulu. Even went so far as to reset Apple TV and go through initial set up all over again. But it didn't solve the problem. Anyone else had this issue? Possible solutions? It's driving me insane. [link] [comments]  | ||
