2015 MacBook Pro low ram available

    Posted: 10 Oct 2021 04:25 PM PDT

Hi all. I have a trusted 2015 MacBook Pro that has been with me through it all. I've been getting into graphic design recently and noticed that the available RAM (according to clean my Mac) is low… usually around 70-200 MB out of 8. Sometimes 400-500 when I'm idle. I have 21 GB of storage free if that affects anything.

Is this typical of machines of this age or is there anything I can do to maximize its performance? Thanks in advance.

Bought my MacBook Pro 13” m1 2 months ago and now there is a crack on the screen.

    Posted: 10 Oct 2021 06:01 PM PDT

I bought an MacBook Pro back I. August and has been working well. On Thursday, I was working on homework on my laptop and I closed it and stepped away from it for half an hour. I came back and there was rainbow lines on my screen and a small crack on the bottom right side of the screen. I have never once dropped my MacBook and take really well care of it so when I saw this, I was really confused. I bought it from a wholesale retail store called Costco so it extends my warranty to 2 years. I contacted them and they told me to call Apple so I did and they set an appointment for today at their store. I went there and they said that the light from the lcd was damaged and I had to get it fixed for 600 dollars. I need it for college so I payed for it and went home. I then decided to look at online forums to see if other people were having the same problems with their m1 MacBook and sure enough, there were countless reports of screens having randomly cracked. I even looked at some submissions on this subreddit and they even said that they got it fixed for free. Is there anything I can do now to somehow get this fixed or is it too late to do anything?

Macbook Air and Macbook Pro having issues with loading websites and images

    Posted: 10 Oct 2021 01:19 PM PDT

    Hello all,

I have a Macbook Air from 2013 (Version 10.10.5) and a Macbook Pro from 2015 (Version 10.10.5). They both work fine for my daily use until recently. I have trouble accessing most websites now. When I use safari, I keep getting "safari can't verify the identity of the website". When I use Chrome, I get "your connection is not private"

What I do is to ignore the warnings, but the problem is that I can't really see any images of those sites when I enter. It is very frustrating because this is also happening to my own professional website. I need to edit my website but I can't see any image. I visited the same site all the time before and it never was any issue.

I obviously have tried to update both browsers and both of Macbooks but when I go to the Apple store there is nothing there for me to update. As both of them still work fine for me, I don't want to buy a new one. Can anyone help me please? Thank you in advance!

Should I get a MacBook now, or just wait for the new model to come out?

    Posted: 10 Oct 2021 08:36 PM PDT

I've been considering getting a new MacBook for a while now, but I'm still very stumped as to what I should do. The new model will (allegedly) be coming out soon, and apparently it will have more ports, and longer battery life, which sounds nice. Kind of conflicted as to whether I should wait, because I don't really want more ports, and I like the touchbar feature (which may be removed). Thoughts?

Need some encouragement buying a Macbook

    Posted: 10 Oct 2021 02:28 AM PDT

I've been looking to get a Macbook Air for a while, just never got the bloody guts to shell out 1k. (Although I did buy a Windows surface...)

I'm currently not a student but I plan on going back to college once corona gets better. Is it worth waiting for that student discount?

Also, I'm in Asia right now but I want a English keyboard- the stores told me I have to order that online. Is there any difference in ordering from US store compared to AUS and UK other than the adapters? I move quite a lot...

Also, do I have to have a iCloud account? My psycho roommate connected my iPhone with her Macbook and was stalking my life and activities.
