| Posted: 05 Oct 2021 09:45 PM PDT Early 2011 MacBook Pro (I've read many reddit posts and googled) Last thing I was doing: playing League of Legends. Screen started glitching and electrical noise heard through the headphones. Freaked out and shut down the laptop. When I turn it on, it beeps 3 times and the screen doesn't power on. I tried switching around the RAM. It started beeping 9 beeps. Opened it again and switched the RAM around and it beeps 3 times now. Tried unattaching the power connector/belt and it would power on when plugged into an outlet, but not vice versa. Prior to this, battery needed to be replaced soon (but not yet according to Apple and the tier it was at), fan kept going crazy when only doing a few simple tasks. Now I'm not sure if it's the RAM, battery, fan, or the EIF chip (the 9 beeps according to some folks). Or is the whole logic board fried? (I've had the laptop for 10 years, the only time I've done something to it was switch out the HD to SSD.) SOS :/ [link] [comments]  |

However, I noticed that whenever I press my volume buttons it just tells me the status of my silent button. If I have silent mode on and volume up or down it does nothing but say "silent mode on" or vice versa. Recently, the right Airpod has always been at a battery level of 10%(sometimes more) lower than the left, even when I charge them both to 100%. I also have a harder time hearing through the right Airpod, it's a lot quieter than the left. I've tried replacing the Airpod case twice and I still have this issue. Any advice on how to solve this? Posted: 05 Oct 2021 08:43 PM PDT Computer: Late 2015 Imac OS: macOS Big Sur (fully updated) I don't have an Apple Music subscription and I don't use it to play audio files. This is an application I never touch. It just randomly started opening itself up and I can't quit it. When I force quit the app, the main icon does go away but the Apple Music player widget remains in my control center dock in the top bar. It's a zombie program. I went so far as to open Activity Monitor and forced quit the music application. It reads as having been forced quit but the icon still remains in my Control Center Dock as if something is playing. I assume this corresponds to green or blue texts, or whether or not there are read receipts on. | Apple Watch 6 stopped recording VO2Max Posted: 05 Oct 2021 08:04 PM PDT I have been using my AW6 for almost 5 months now and I had AW6 recording the VO2Max till 1st week of August. For some reasons, I dont see the VO2Max being recorded at all. I do see a lot of discussions online for the issue, but, I could not get it work in my AW6. I do see my watch in source for the cardio fitness. Does anyone have any other solution? I tried the below solutions that are available online, but, nothing worked for me:

| Issue playing audio files in notes app on iPadOS 15 Posted: 05 Oct 2021 07:47 PM PDT Since updating to the new software, I am no longer able to play audio files that I have pasted in the notes app while the screen is locked. I save audio files into notes to be able to listen to, and it has always been able to continue playing in the background while using other apps or while the screen is locked. | 13 pro making random call & crappy internet speeds Posted: 05 Oct 2021 07:02 PM PDT Hi. 13 Pro. 2 major issues. One, when the phone is connected to CarPlay it will make one or two random FaceTime audio calls to my top contact/favorite. I am not misclicking or accidentally saying their name. I sit listening to music and it happens. Any ideas what the issue is or how to repair it? Second, internet speeds can be excruciating at times where webpages just will not load. I think its 5G related. Any tips on how to resolve this? I am in NYC so I thought 5G wouldn't be an issue. Any help is appreciated. Thank you! Edit: Don't care about saving data or anything. Want optimal speeds at all times. Thank you! Current settings: Data Roaming ON Voice and Data 5G AUTO Data Mode Allow More Data on 5G WIFI Assist ON (some googling says that I want this OFF. | Can't Get Time Machine Sparsebundle to Open in Time Machine Posted: 05 Oct 2021 06:52 PM PDT I've been fighting with this all day. Hopefully someone out there can help me out. I have a Time Machine backup from an old 2017 Intel MacBook Pro stored on my Synology NAS. I use this NAS as a Time Machine backup disk for all of my Macs. I'm able to mount the Sparsebundle on my 13" M1 Macbook Pro but I can't see any files. What I really need to do is go back to a certain date to recover a few megabytes worth of text files. Mounting the Time Machine volume and exploring in Finder I tried holding down the Option key and clicking on the Time Machine icon to "Browse Other Backup Disks". I'm able to find the drive I'm looking for but the interface to go back in time freezes and is unable to go back or display other dates. The Time Machine interface fails to load anything when browsing my desired backup disk Exploring the sparesbundle on the file explorer on the NAS I don't see a Backups.backupdb folder. Inspecting the sparebundle files on the NAS I tried downloading the sparsebundle locally and messing with it on my local hard drive instead of over the network but it doesn't seem to make much of a difference. I got desparate and fired up the Migration Assistant app to see if I could restore the Time Machine backup to a fresh account but after a few hours staring at Loading Backup... I gave up. After several hours of \"Loading Backup\" So I have run out of ideas. How can I get Time Machine to recognize this Time Machine backup so I can go back in time and recover a few files I know are on there? Any ideas? [link] [comments]  |
| Question about Seagate/first Time Machine backup Posted: 05 Oct 2021 06:30 PM PDT Just got a 1TB SeaGate and hooked it up to my 2020 MBP to run Time Machine. Had to re-format it as it was set up for Windows, fine, no problem. Clicked right thru, again, fine. Backup successful. My question is, can I just connect the Seagate to my MBP and drag a file into it from my desktop? I tried to do just that, and it won't allow me. I get the circle with the line thru it. What am I missing? Also, related somewhat to that; I use my MBP on a monitor stand, and connect Ethernet, mouse and printer to it via an Anker. This is also what I connect the Seagate to, to do the backups. Can I leave the Anker connected all the time when I am at my desk? IE, is it a constant drain on power? This is a problem that I first experienced in the later 14 iOS releases and it has continued up until 15.0.1. When connected to my home wifi it doesn't recognize that it is connected to wifi for the purpose of iOS activities. Let me clarify, wifi works 100% for apps and everything but it doesn't send a backup to iCloud nightly when locked and charging, it doesn't update apps in the background, and it doesn't allow me to request an update for iOS itself--telling me I must be connected to wifi, while showing the wifi connected icon in the status bar with full bars. If I change the network to my guest network it works but I don't want it on my guest network. I have reset network settings and it didn't help. I have forgotten the network and added it again and it didn't help. I have removed any & all VPN and DNS apps that I had installed (wireguard, adguard, nord) and it's still thinking it doesn't have a wifi connection. How do I fix this? [link] [comments]  |

The automated voice says, for info press 1, to talk to someone, press 2 or remain on the line. If I press 1 or 2, my phone goes beep beep beep and it says call failed. It only recently started doing this and it's so frustrating cause I can't call my doctor, a government office, anything!! I've taken it to both Apple and an independent repair shop and was left with a few options: 1) Apple repair: ~1500$ 2) Independent Shop internals replacement: ~1000$ 3) Attempting a repair by the independent shop: 300-600$ (though they said it still may not work after this) 4) Sell it to the independent repair shop for +250$ 5) ???
