- I have a macbook pro M1 and the screen is SO EASY to have fingerprints. So I tried cleaning it with isopropyl alcohol and cotton balls but it stains the side screen even more. I already tried wiping it with glass cloth but it doesn’t remove the white stains. What can I do with this?

Fast forward, 24 days later my screen has cracked and screen will not turn on. I'm past the 15 day return window for Best Buy. I purchased this via my Paypal linking my Discover card to get the 5% cash back so there is no extended warranty. What are my best options? | Posted: 30 Aug 2021 02:31 AM PDT Greetings everyone. I am on the verge on buying an Apple Macbook M1 for my studies since I'm going to continue my study soon. This is my 1st time thinking about getting a Macbook. So there are questions that running through my mind about the new Apple silicon and I think it's suitable if I ask here. The scenario is that I will be taking computer science (networking)/information technology/multimedia courses. However in my country, I live in Malaysia it is more of a Windows ecosystem here and I also still does not know what kind of software will be used during my 4 year course. I'm afraid most of it are only compatible with Windows. So, back to the technical aspects, since the new Apple Macs are using M1 chips which is an ARM based CPU, it still does not support virtualization such as Bootcamp like it was supported on the Intel based Macbooks. I have read lots of article about M1 and I can run Windows but only through Parallels which is on an ARM version of Windows and it can't install 64-bit (x64) apps. It can only run 64-bit (ARM64) and 32-bit (x86) apps. In this case, I'm afraid most of the softwares that will be used during my study is only 64-bit (x64) maybe some of it 32-bit that will supports it but Parallels only support ARM64 and x86 apps. Now this does not happen with Intel based Macbooks since it can run Bootcamp with x64 version of Windows means I can install any Windows based apps without worrying the 64-bit (x64) part. I am very tempted to try M1 Macbooks since the perfomance amazed me in all reviews I watched. Should I get an Intel based Macbooks from 2020 or just live with Windows? And how all of these shifts from Intel to M1 are working right now for a long term user? All responds and suggestions are very much appreciated. [link] [comments]  | ||

The HD should be fine, it was only a couple of years old. I would love to access all the music I made on it in Logic 8. If I bought a refurbished Macbook would I be able to transplant my old HD into it? Would the software work? Would I need to get a 17" model as opposed to 15"? Posted: 30 Aug 2021 08:54 AM PDT Actually, my keyboard works fine, but my left speaker has a popping sound BEFORE EVERY TIME I produce ANY sound. It's not a rare problem, lots of people have the same issue, somebody even says it's caused by the T2 chip, but I wanna try to replace the speaker first. My MacBook had already out of one-year-warranty, but apple provides two year's main part warranty in China, including T2 chip and everything on the motherboard, but other parts like speakers are not covered, it only under coverage for one year. I learned that by taking Apple's keyboard service program, the whole top case will be replaced for free including speakers? If the problem didn't get solved after changing the speaker, I'll ask Apple for replacing the motherboard, in this case, my main part warranty can save me. [link] [comments]  | ||
