It is ridiculous that I can't stop U2 from auto playing in my car ios 12.1. Posted: 18 Nov 2018 08:57 AM PST I have a Pandora subscription and often don't want to hear anything when I drive around for work, and so I don't start that app. I also need to use the car's Bluetooth to talk on the phone. Well, for some reason, I guess it's apple music?? U2 auto plays every time I start driving, and there is no way to disable it. wtf? I don't want to do anything but listen to Pandora when I WANT TO. Why is that impossible to do? The 'workarounds' I've read about here and elsewhere are ridiculous. This is infuriating. [link] [comments]
Apple has ruined sending/receiving photos in iMessage Posted: 18 Nov 2018 08:32 AM PST The way that iMessage now sends groups of pictures is something I don't understand. Sending as an iCloud link makes sense in theory, but in practice I was just sent nine pictures, and when I tried to view them, it opened the photos app; annoying enough on its own, as I would rather not be forced to switch apps. Then in the photos app, the pictures still won't load! Earlier this week I was sent a few pictures by a friend, and they didn't show up on my phone at all for almost an hour afterwards! I get what Apple is *trying* to do, but the execution of this idea is absolutely terrible. And then there's the way that photos are SENT from the Messages app in iOS 12. It is infuriating to me that to get to all of my photos (if I'm trying to send one that doesn't appear in my "recent photos"), I have to go through my camera screen. It's a couple of added clicks, and infuriates me all the time! Even if you go through the app icon and not the camera button, it's three clicks to get to all photos. Until recently, I had an iPhone SE: so when I was frustrated with these changes, I thought "I'll wait until I upgrade. Maybe it'll feel more helpful on a phone without a home button". It does not. Both of these things seem like QoL changes Apple was trying to make that have both made usability consistently worse. Am I using these features wrong? Am I the only one frustrated with this? Anyone try android and then come back? Posted: 18 Nov 2018 09:57 AM PST What iPhone did you have? What Android did you try? What did you like, and what made you come back? I had an iPhone 7 Plus. Best phone I've ever had. Wanted to experience something new, so I picked up my Samsung Galaxy note 9. I really want to love this phone. The size and screen shape (no notch) are just beautiful. But that's not really worth the pains in the ass the phone brings. Mostly, apps crash all the time. At least twice per day in the middle of watching a YouTube video, the app will close and the notification will tell me it stopped working. I also get this notification when in the Amazon prime video app that videos won't play, and that it'll be fixed if I restart my phone. I tried everything, it still happens. Also the over all app experience has been crummy. Every other time I open up Grindr its just a grey screen with an orange dot at the too and doesn't work (which might not be a bad thing. Lol) I'm really unimpressed. Planning to give this phone to my mom and picking up either the 8 Plus or the iPhone XS Max with my income tax return. I wanted to like Android so much. In the past Android's have been pieces of crap, but I had higher hopes for such an anticipated phone. Also I miss my Apple watch like crazy. Definitely picking up the series 4 in a couple of months, such a great watch and fitness tracker. [link] [comments]

But how in the world do i disable the iphone from making a swoosh sound when i text, but still have a notification sound when i receive a text? [link] [comments]

[iPhone XS Max] Camera 3D touch shortcut behaving weirdly. Posted: 18 Nov 2018 09:13 AM PST I noticed this problem when opening the camera app using 3D touch and then switching on the camera apps again using 3D touch quickly afterwards. The haptics would behave weirdly and 3D touch can even be enabled in the camera apps. However, if the delay is more (more than 2s), then this problem is not there. The 3D touch for flash works perfectly though. The video below best demonstrate this problem. iPhone XS Max camera shortcut 3D touch behaving weirdly. Furthemore, I just realised that if you open the camera app using 3D touch and you don't leave your finger up, and when you're in the camera app, pressing hard at the same location will trigger 3D touch as well. Anyone here having the same problem? Is this hardware or software related? If it's software related, how do I report this to Apple? [link] [comments]
Posted: 17 Nov 2018 08:10 PM PST No F2P that requires me to watch Ad and with minimum in-App purchase would be great! Currently I have: Kingdom Rush Plague! Mini metro Reigns I don't know which one I'll actually enjoy so just bought a few in top paid Apps lol. If you know more, please let me know! Edit: Thanks to everyone for suggestions! I'll definitely check them out. Edit: Again, thx everyone for games but I'm looking for a simple yet pretty addictive challenging game lol. If I get more suggestions, I'll definitely download it right before getting on the plane! [link] [comments]
Just switched to iPhone XR from using Android 5+ years, What are the must have apps/must do's? Posted: 18 Nov 2018 07:25 AM PST Just switched to the XR after 5 years just to try something different. Posted: 18 Nov 2018 06:32 AM PST Had the phone for over two years. Been awesome for hours upon hours of video and thousands upon thousands of photos . Yesterday camera was't working. I closed and reopened the app. No changes. Rebooted the phone, it works EXCEPT the camera is slightly out of focus/soft. Ios 12.1 happened before update, thought that would fix it but nope. One on the back of the phone, FaceTime seems ok. Am i SOL software/hardware? A setting i hit but am unaware of? Thanks for any help. I love this phone, I don't want a new one. [link] [comments]
The *little* things you like better about iOS Posted: 18 Nov 2018 10:15 AM PST I am someone that primarily uses android (the Pixel), but I have the Xs as well. I'm trying to come up with the little things that are everyday benefits of both platforms. For example, I love that I can set a different do not disturb schedule on my Pixel for weekdays and weekends, and I can exclude certain apps. That I can't do the same thing on my Xs is a huge drawback to me. I love that on my XS I can hit the flashlight right from the lock screen, it's a little more cumbersome on the Pixel. So I'm not looking for the big philosophical things like Google stealing all your data and selling it, or Apple being better about privacy - or Apple being a bunch of liars about throttling until they were caught. Also I'm NOT looking for things related to the Apple Watch (which is far superior to any android watch imo). Specifically looking for little day to day things like in my examples above, that aren't usually the topics of discussion but greatly improve your quality of life with a smartphone. Is the mute switch meant to be stiff? Posted: 18 Nov 2018 10:07 AM PST It is supposed to be hard to move the mute switch on an iphone 6s plus, mine seems to move position with not much force at all, much less than other iphones I checked. Is this something specific to 6s/6s plus or a fault? [link] [comments] |
