The Reddit app and only the Reddit app are draining my iPhone battery like no other. I'm losing 1% every minute or two just from browsing, and the phone is noticeably hot. The second I get off Reddit it cools down and stops draining battery. Was this a new Reddit update or an issue with 14.1? Because again it's only happening on Reddit. I have the latest version of Reddit but not the latest iOS version. Could it be a Reddit issue or is it that I need to upgrade to iOS 14.7 or whatever the current iOS is? About 10 days ago, I decided to buy a refurbished screen from InjuredGadgets. I received a confirmation email of the purchase as well as a tracking number, but I've just been informed that apparently, there were no available units. I'm disappointed to say the least. | iPhone SE 2020 Apple Pay/NFC not working Posted: 26 Jul 2021 11:41 PM PDT Hi all, Basically my Apple Pay on my iPhone SE 2020 does not seem to work. I've had it for a year, bought it brand new but I've had an Apple Watch for many years and almost exclusively use that for Apple Pay instead. I guess maybe 4 or so months ago I didn't have my watch on me and tried to use Apple Pay with my phone and the NFC reader did not pick up that I was trying to pay with my phone. I've now tested it in multiple locations and it never picks it up. I could swear it used to work but since I use my watch the majority of the time, I don't know when exactly it stopped working on my phone. Does anyone with the SE 2020 have this issue or is it a known issue? Is it worth having Apple support troubleshoot this? | iPhone is connected to WiFi but can't connect to the internet Posted: 26 Jul 2021 06:38 PM PDT The problem: Sometimes when I am connected to the Wifi and search something on Safari, a message will pop up and say, "Safari cannot open the page because it could not connect to the server." I had an iPhone 7 that was having this Wifi issue and I ended up switching to an 11 later on (not because of this issue). Even after the switch, the same issue persisted. I even ended up moving to a new house with new Wifi, and the same message will pop up. The odd part is that sometimes the WiFi will connect to the internet, and sometimes it won't. My guess is that is has to do something with my account, since it happened on both phones and both my old and new WiFi? Any ideas? [link] [comments]  | ||

| Iphone 7 stuck in boot loop randomly. Posted: 26 Jul 2021 02:46 PM PDT FIXED!! thank you guys for the help! Regular iPhone 7, iOS 13? 14? It was recently updated. My storage was nearly full, something I was going to fix soon just not today. I was drawing on my laptop, glanced over and noticed my iPhone had restarted. Then it kept restarting, getting stuck in a boot loop. Hard restarting my phone does absolutely nothing. Currently just hoping that letting the phone die will help break the cycle. | (Solved) IPhone Notes not sycing with ICloud website. Posted: 26 Jul 2021 05:12 PM PDT (Skip down to solution) Writing this so others with the problem might find it helpful! I have been having trouble for a long time accessing my iOS notes from my computer because the notes I wrote on my phone were not showing up in the cloud. I activated all the syncing options but no luck. It synced backwards for some reason, showing web notes on my phone proving they were linked.somehow worked backwards but I just couldn't fix it. I finally gave in an called customer support and had a surprisingly good experience. (Solution) I was told to activate the seemingly random "On My IPhone" Account in the Note app settings which allows local note storage. This somehow worked! If you are having trouble with this problem heres a list of things you can do: 1) Have iCloud save your notes in ICloud Settings, and in the Notes setting. Activate every Syncing option for Notes you can find. 2) Check the sync account and make sure is your apple one. 3) Activate the "On My IPhone" account option 4)check that the notes in your notes app are saved in the ICloud folder [link] [comments]  | ||

| Need help with facetime data settings Posted: 26 Jul 2021 03:19 PM PDT my wife is out of the country and i just found out my monthly cellular data is almost all used (6GB) we only use facetime. i looked through my settings and didn't know what to turn on or off so that these calls are through my wi-fi only. can someone shed some light as to what settings these should be? what i have now is in brackets.
when i turn cellular off completely, then facetime doesn't work. i realize facetime should probably be off, but are the others ok? are there other options i should be aware of? would these be the same settings for whatsapp? [link] [comments]  | ||

I've searched around and found out that the battery degradation might be a reason. my battery health is at 89% although I use slow charger ( either chi or regular usb) and rarely have my battery level below 30%. | Battery Maximum Capacity Question Posted: 26 Jul 2021 01:48 PM PDT I have a 12 pro max and over the span of 3 days I have noticed a 2% drop in my battery's maximum capacity. It was at 100% on Friday and then on Saturday it was at 99%. Today I updated to 14.7.1. and now it's at 98%. I contacted Apple support and all they did was link me a bunch of articles about how to charge my phone. | Question About iPhone 6 Randomly Calling Contacts. Posted: 26 Jul 2021 12:42 PM PDT Hey, Reddit, I have a tech question for you since I'm a layman. My iPhone 6, has randomly started calling people in my contacts without any input. It started yesterday, when it called a friend of mine when it was in my pocket, while I was driving. I thought it might have had something to do with me having my earbuds in, since I can press down on the volume button to pull up voiceover/siri. Didn't think much of it, apologized to my friend and set my phone away to charge once I got home. Then today, when I went to check my phone while it was charging. I noticed that my aunt, who I rarely talk to, texted me apologizing that she couldn't talk rn. I asked her if she randomly got a call from me, and she responded yes. I apologized again to her, but now, I'm starting to get suspicious about my phone. Especially now that this time it called, I didn't have the phone on me, as it was in another room and away from any input. I was alone in the house, so I know that it couldn't have been someone else using it. (Not to mention having a password and fingerprint checker on it as well.) So, what do you guys think is going on? All I can say is that I haven't been able to update my phone in about two months now, since it is such an old phone and maybe that has something to do with it? I haven't had any other strange activity, none of my accounts online have been gotten into and things such as photos remain untouched. I'm using an iPhone X, running iOS 14.6 and for the past few months I have been having this issue where Google Maps, or any other app using location services shows me in the wrong spot, my Bluetooth doesn't detect any devices and my WiFi struggles to maintain stable connection, or doesn't detect the network at all. I believe that the cause of this has to do with internal antennas, so I have replaced the one found at the top of the phone underneath the FaceID sensor, but that did next to nothing. I think that the GPS location got a bit more accurate but that can be nothing but my wishful thinking. I know that there is another one at the bottom of the phone, but I'd prefer to eliminate other possible causes first. Does anyone have an idea what else could be reason of such issues? In usage is just Netflix and Facebook on two top. We tried hard reset, and update all apps. Some advice? Do you think it's cuz of battery? As I said, 91% capacity, I thought it's not that bad. Once on my phone the audio quality is noticeably worse. The background noise is unbearable. The tracks in my iTunes library on my pc are totally fine.
