| Posted: 23 Jul 2021 08:02 PM PDT I have a 2020 MacBook Air, which I bought online in September/November. This MacBooks battery life is ATROCIOUS. While I am on Safari with one tab open, browsing, on the LOWEST brightness and no keyboard lighting at all, it will drain 2-4% every 4 minutes (I have checked and confirmed). Everyone told me that it would be like that at first, but it just never got better. My area got out of heavy lockdowns very recently, and I have scheduled an appointment with the apple store for next week, and my MacBook is still under warranty. Do you think they will replace the battery? Also, the condition says "normal" but it obviously is not. I can't even do anything with it, if I take it to an in person lecture it will probably die just from running word at half brightness. My MacBook Air 2017 never did this, and I'm good at preserving the battery life of my devices, I try to maximize it, but this 2020 MacBook is just that bad. [link] [comments]  |

| Cannot Get Photos from iCloud onto PC Posted: 23 Jul 2021 05:13 PM PDT Ok. So I use iCloud. Even pay the stupid extra $1 a month for the lil' boost of space. I'm hitting the wall again and running out of space. Simple. I just take off all the photos from iCloud and put them onto my external hard drive. Oh how simple it sounds. I try to download them from icloud.com but you can only download 1,000 at a time. AND even when I do download 1,000, the download always fails making the rather long process... pointless. I have iCloud for windows downloaded. I go to iCloud photos in my quick access, then at the top left I click 'Download photos and videos." Great. That should be simple too right? Nope. It only downloads photos and videos into the 2021 folder. Even though were are exponentially more in 2020 and earlier, they simply do not download. Not when I download all. Now when I pick a specific year. It only downloads 2021 files. What do I do here? I want my 4,500+ photos but as of right now I literally have no way of getting them. I even tried plugging my phone into my computer and click the little Apple iPhone drive and went to look at all the photos folders but guess what, they don't include everything on my phone. Only random pictures, most I don't even care about. So what do I do? How do I get my photos? I'm losing my mind here. It should be so fucking simple to just download all iCloud content but it's just not. Or at the very least, something just isn't working here with my iCloud. Basically she signed up for a free apple tv+ trial ages ago using a credit card that was valid during that time. Sometime during the free trial period the card expired and she forgot that she had signed up to the free trial. On July 17 the free trial ended and she got an email saying there was a billing problem yesterday. All I've done so far is just cancel the subscription and removed the outdated payment card. Do I need to connect another card so they can take payment from her? Or is it cool to just leave things as they are? Thanks! [link] [comments]  |

Now it's been a few weeks and I no longer have access to that photo and it is permanently gone. Really upset but I heard there are ways you can access past deleted photos. I have a backup from my previous phone saved on my computer from January that I'd like to at least get all those notes back. How do I go about doing so? I've been able to locate my backup in the mobilesync folder but any application I use on my computer cannot read the backup. I've tried copytrans and it just says no backups can be found. | Odd Problem With Macbook Charger: Magsafe Gets Very Very Hot, Makes Wierd Noises Posted: 23 Jul 2021 12:04 PM PDT My 2015 Macbook Pro is acting up when I charge it Here's a list of the symptoms - It only charges when the Magsafe is plugged in a certain way, otherwise it says "battery not charging" and it just hovers at the same percentage indefinitely - The Magsafe connector gets scaldingly hot, and the left side of the computer where the Magsafe plugs in is also slightly warmer than the right side of the computer. - There is some darkness around the holes where the pins connect, on the computer when I look into the charging port on the computer. - When the computer is charging I can hear it when I turn everything else off, it sounds like computer sounds on the left side, but those go away when it is not charging. - The charger is slightly discoloured near the magsafe connector, and there is a bit of a clump near the magsafe connector. Should I just replace the charger? Is this a known issue? Is is a danger to my computer? Do I need a new I/O board ? Thanks for the help [link] [comments]  |

After a minute of use the battery jumped up to 45%! In my history of using Apple devices, I have never experienced such an issue. I've been following the official Apple site instructions and have got only as far as installing it onto my USB. Edit: I'm on an Intel MacBookPro (2020 model) running MacOS Monterey Version 12.0 Beta (21A5284e) The problem that comes up is this: I'm not too sure what to do as I have tried re-doing this process 3 times now and every time this pops up in my terminal when it finishes. I am using the official Big Sur installer from the App Store. Also, I tried to follow Mr Macintosh's guide to this and still received the same error. Could someone please help me? | Multiple Windows PC : Single iPhone? Posted: 23 Jul 2021 06:56 PM PDT Is it possible to utilize two or more Windows PC to manage music on my iPhoneX? So I started adding music/mp3 podcast manually to my iPhone using iTunes on my DESKTOP-WIN at home. However, when I'm on the road or on my apartment I use my LAPTOP-WIN but I can NOT seem to add music manually with this LAPTOP. It seems like I can only add music when I'm using my DESKTOP-WIN at home. Also, I've experience where my DESKTOP-WIN died and I bought a new DESKTOP-WIN, and can't add music with the newer DESKTOP-WIN and need to reformat my iPhone just to be able to add music again using the new PC. Posted: 23 Jul 2021 06:45 PM PDT When I click on "manually manage music" in iTunes I get a message that says "Syncing 'your phone' with this iTunes library will replace media from another iTunes library on 'mycomputer'". This message is way too vague to be helpful. Does that mean my existing library in iTunes will be replaced with some second mystery library that I'm unaware of? Or does that mean the library on the phone will be replaced? Wish Apple would make iTunes more user friendly. Seems to get more difficult as time goes on. [link] [comments]  |
