| I'm at my fucking limit transferring photos from image capture Posted: 28 Jun 2021 05:17 PM PDT So I plugged my lightning chord from my phone into my macbook and opened image capture and then selected all the photos. THEN before downloading I selected photos to be the place they import too. Tell me why ???????? Photos doesn't want to open all of a sudden and I have to choose a different place to put the photos?? THEN after closing everything to start over this long process THEY ARE MOVED TO PICTURES. So now 11k photos are being mixed with all the photos on my laptop and I have no idea wtf to do anymore. Sorry for all the cursing I've been doing this for 6 hrs and today is supposed to be the only day I've gotten in the past 2 years. Anyways I hope you guys can excuse the apparent rage in my message. | Bluestack's wont install on mac, Posted: 28 Jun 2021 09:55 PM PDT This is a very unique and mystifying problem, many have tried to help and honestly if u can figure out a way to fix it i will be very very very very impressed. I deleted some files I shouldn't have, and my already installed Bluestacks said something like a cleaning software you downloaded automatically deletes important files, so turn that off and try to re-install. I completely deleted the cleaning software and downloaded Bluestacks again, it then said "Bluestacks cannot be installed" once I double clicked it and inputed my password and all that. I tried re-installing Bluestacks dozens of times, completely deleting it from my computer each time. I even FACTORY RESET my computer and got rid of all the data on it, as well as re-installing the Big Sur software twice. This isn't a Big Sur issue because this was happening before I updated my computer to big sur. Nothing worked, even after erasing every piece of data on my computer. Im lost. I have no idea what to do, if someone in here knows how to work miracles than please, help me. [link] [comments]  |

I ended up doing the DFU restore. No image on the screen at all, although the screen does respond to touch (the voice assistive stuff is on). I've tried the toothpick cleaning method and tried clearing out water from the port but its not working. I've tried out 4 different lightning cables on 3 different usb blocks. Still nothing. Posted: 28 Jun 2021 08:30 PM PDT Long story short, the dongle was in my backpack and a Monster broke open and submerged it. Got it home, cleaned it like crazy with 99% isopropyl alcohol, and made sure there was no residue in the ports. After letting it dry fully, will it be safe to use? | Posted: 28 Jun 2021 08:17 PM PDT Hey everyone - We had a strange thing happen to a macbook today I wanted to see if anyone had any ideas on how it happened. I was asked to look at the macbook that got "hacked" and it was on the screen that says it has been locked via Find My and asks for a 6 digit PIN. The message at the bottom said the computer had been hacked and had a phone number to call. We did call the number and then got a text back (blah blah pornography found on your computer), but then a 6 digit code and a "sorry for the delay, did that work?". To my surprise the code did unlock the computer, it restarted and came up as normal. I immediately turned off wifi, I'm aware of the ability if you gain access to an icloud account you can put devices in lost mode but the really strange thing is this device is not signed into icloud at all. If it's not signed into icloud how was it put into lost mode? I'm afraid to put it back on wifi until I know how this happened. Any ideas would be appreciated! [link] [comments]  |
| Everything regarding volume on my new iPhone 8 is not working Posted: 28 Jun 2021 07:56 PM PDT I got my phone about 4 weeks ago and since then I've been having too much trouble with it than I'd like. It does this thing where it'll shut off, and then turn on again but not fully (just so it shows the Apple logo) and then it'll shut back off. It usually does this for anywhere from 2-10+ hours but it always comes back on eventually. This issue is annoying but it's usually not a big deal. However the other night when it finally turned back on a couple things were awry, first off the home button wasn't clicking, annoying yet ultimately doesn't really matter, but most importantly everything regarding the volume seem to be broken. The volume buttons are unresponsive, the volume slider-button on the screen is unresponsive, the speakers on the top and bottom of the phone aren't making any noise, and it seems like the microphone is also not working. I tried plugging it into the aux in my car, no sound, connecting it to a Bluetooth speaker, no sound. I'm stuck and not sure what to do. I tried turning it all the way off and on again, it did the thing it normally does for about 9 hours or so, and when it turned back on, still nothing. Help please !!! My XR is the most up to date, and my colleague sent a message which I saw on my home screen on the iPad but it's not appearing on my XR, which leads me to believe she deleted it. I know my iMessage works because I texted her earlier today on my Xr. So does the fact that her messages are appearing on my older devices and not on my newest mean that those are deleted messages? | iPhone 12 Pro Max continuously switching to 3g with no internet connection whatsoever Posted: 28 Jun 2021 07:30 PM PDT So I just got a new iPhone 12 pro max, and I have noticed that the phone switches to 3g a lot, and when it does that, there is no internet connection at all whatsoever. I have to restart my phone and then it switches back to 4g and works again. My previous phone doesn't do that at all, so there is clearly something wrong with my phone. I really need help. | Password Data Leak Notification Issue-Odd Websites and Difficulty Changing Passwords Posted: 28 Jun 2021 02:37 PM PDT First time poster on this subreddit, thought folks might be able to offer some help. Over an hour ago I got a notification on my iPhone 7 warning me about some of my saved passwords being involved in data breaches. Have received such warnings before and as I usually do I go and change my passwords for the websites apparently affected. Most of the websites listed as potentially being affected were ones I recognised and I was able to successfully go and and change the passwords to new ones. However two of the websites listed proved rather odd in the sense that I didn't recognise either of them and when I tried opening them as links in order to make changes to my passwords the websites crashed when using safari. When I tried checking said links on internet explorer on my laptop they similarly crashed. These websites were fbsbx.com and secure7.arcot.com. As I could not seem to get either to work I selected the delete option for both of them in my password inventory, rather foolishly assuming that doing so would delete the potentially compromised passwords from the websites themselves. Within 5 minutes I was already regretting this as my googling for answers seemed to suggest that the former website was somehow connected to Facebook (making me worry about my account on that being compromised) whilst the latter seemed to be connecting to online transaction processing (making me worry about my bank details etc) being compromised. Am a bit at a loss at what to do now as concerned about these areas being compromised and having no means of remedying them now I have removed the saved passwords from my iPhone inventory and as neither links allow me to make any changes to email/password details etc. As said been able to successfully change other passwords saved on my iPhone inventory but not sure what to do here. To be clear (as I have seen this mentioned in other cases of IOS password warnings) that I use multiple unique passwords for different websites and that I try to update these passwords fairly regularly. | "Terminal would like to access Documents" Posted: 28 Jun 2021 06:22 PM PDT Hello, I have a 13" M1 Mac running Big Sur 11.4. I was running the photo editing software Acorn 7 which crashed. When I selected "Reopen" a terminal session opened and asked me if terminal could access my documents. I agreed but then quickly closed terminal and interrupted the running script. Terminal said something about tss00? or something like that. I reached out to Acorn's customer support and they told me that acorn should NEVER open the terminal. I didn't get any screenshots of this happening. This is a relatively new computer and I haven't installed much on it and I certainly don't remember accessing any sketchy sites. Please advise. I began the set up process but had to be somewhere, so I decided to do it later and put the SIM back in my old phone. A few weeks later (today) I put my SIM in the iphone 10, but I couldnt remember the passcode I set up (I actually dont remember if I even did set one up) Ive tried restoring it several times, using 2 different laptops with updated itunes, but it still asks for a passcode. I tried erasing it on find my iphone, but it erased my old iphone instead (the new one isnt listed in find my iphone, but when I log into icloud it is shown under devices) Is there anything else I can try to restore it? There is this Cisco AnyConnect application that my work made me install, and I've long since left the company but it continues to pop up on restarting and I cannot get support from my company or Cisco. I've tried everything to remove this bloody thing but it still pops up every time I restart. I want to purge it from my system - from my life; but I also want to preserve everything else. | Touch ID does not wake or lock my iMac Posted: 28 Jun 2021 01:14 PM PDT As the title says. Putting my finger on Touch ID does nothing when my M1 iMac is sleeping. When it's unlocked, same result. It does not lock. I didn't know it was supposed to do either of these until today (or is it not supposed to?). I even tried pressing the sensor a little, but nope.
