    How to use Apple Pencil in live video

    Hi everyone,

    I started to make youtube videos. Now I want to add annotations in the video. What I want to do is to play press videos of cars, talk about them and with the Apple pencil 1 add annotations to highlight the cars design. I record the video and sound on my windows PC via OBS. Now I want to add my iPad and Pencil to the mix.

    Do you have any idea how I can do that without buying some dodgy apps? Thank you all in advance

    Does anyone else's iPad Pro 10.5 have a non existent battery life?

    I have had things thing for years and barely used it. I only started to use the photoshop and drawing with it. But I put it down for a day, fully charged, and the day when I wake up its at like 20%.

    I make sure no apps run in the background and all the other tips the internet has preached by my lawd I cannot figure it out.

    Was there a recall or something on some iPads for battery life because I paid top dollar for a device that should at least stay charged for a couple days when not in use. Not go down to 1% within 2 days of not using it.

    Logitech Crayon isn't compatible with the new pros.

    I'm a teacher and use my iPad and Crayon for easy math lesson projection. I was all pumped for the 11in Pro, but the two devices aren't compatible. I'm not about to spend mad cash on an iPad and then have to drop another $130 on a new pencil. If anyone else is using a Crayon and planning for a pro, just be aware of this.

    Edit: for those questioning this, the Logitech Crayon page on the Apple site does not list the new pros, so I called Apple directly. They confirmed it is not compatible.

    What's the most convenient way to transfer small files from Windows to iPad?

    Hey there fellas. Is there a way to transfer small files from Windows to iPad conveniently? For example, I usually study with my textbooks open on my Windows PC and take notes on my iPad on notability. Sometimes I want to take a screenshot of a graph or something and add it to my notes. So far it's been horribly slow. Take the screenshot, upload it to Google Drive, open Files on the iPad, locate the picture and drag & drop. As you can imagine this interrupts the study quite badly. I kinda regret buying a Windows laptop instead of a MacBook just because of this small issue.

    Downloading e-books on iPad

    I just recently bought an iPad Air (4th gen) for purpose of entertainment! I thought of converting the iPad into an e-book reader, but I'm not sure on the principles... Where do fellow iPad users obtain their e-books from? Do you typically use the Books app? How does the book get 'saved' on the app, or is it automated? Many thanks!

    FYI: I typically read fiction books (adventure, fantasy, philosophical) but in paper form, so I have no idea where do people extract pdfs of those books from; is it simply an online source?

    12.9" pro 4th generation cases for 5th generation

    With ipad pros starting to ship I waned to start shopping for cases. I am looking for a rugged case but I am unsure if the thicker 5th generation will be too big to fit any of the 4th generation cases. Have we had any official word on this from Apple or any of the case manufactures?

    Also any suggestions for rugged cases are appreciated.

    Paperlike screen protector wearing down?

    Hey guys! I got a matte paper feel screen protector off Amazon and it suddenly feels a lot more slippery to draw on. It's literally only been a few weeks. Just curious on if you guys have had this problem before? It still sounds like paper when I draw on it but I'm wondering if that's normal for these screen protectors or if the one I got is just bad quality lol

    iPad in Desktop Mode – How Do I Bring Up Siri?

    When using my iPad not as a handheld tablet but having it hooked up as a desktop-computing device, how can I invoke Siri? Besides physically holding the sleep button on the iPad (iPad is stashed away) or using "Listen for Hey Siri" (I do not want to shout when listening to music over speakers), that is. It seems really strange that there is no keyboard-shortcut or iPadOS accommodation of any kind for Siri .

    My set-up:

    • Apple Magic Keyboard (the Aluminium stand-alone one, not the case)
    • Apple Magic Trackpad 2
    • External monitor connected via HDMI
    • Traditional AUX-cable speakers connected to external monitor
    • iPad Air 2020 out of reach and with its screen off

    Merge (unspilt or cancel) multiple instances (windows) of an app (not Safari)

    I know that merging all windows of safari browser is available from within the Safari App itself. But how can I merge multiple windows again of another app, namely PDF expert, so they are tabs rather than different windows?

    iPad as monitor with capture card

    I have been thinking about the new M1 ipads for a while, but the I want a way to effectively use it at my desk. It's obviously a great device for when I am away from it, but I do spend the majority of my time there. I use Ubuntu Linux as my main OS, so just about every app/ device out there, like DuetDisplay, isn't compatible. I stumbled on this video (also check out the reddit post in the video description) where an HDMI capture card is used to take the signal from the computer and send it to a camera app as a display.

    I haven't heard of people using this with an ipad, but I can't think of why it wouldn't work. What I am kind of concerned about is the ability to use this as a second display because I'm not super familiar with capture cards. Does this setup take capture card and treat it as a new monitor, or would it duplicate an existing display? Also, would the computer recognize the ipad's size and resolution or would that have to be done manually? Bonus points if you know how to get the magic keyboard and touchscreen to work with this setup.

    iPad Pro 202O user with connections to an external monitor: any option to see full screen?

    Certain video apps do cover the whole screen but not majority-wish Apple do something around this-could have used the external monitors display resources fully…Any suggestions?
