    I wanted to clarify since this is getting a bit of attention.

    I was upset, but not angry / yelling / screaming at my 3 year old. Ultimately it was MY FAULT for forgetting that I had a sharpie in my nightstand drawer.

    My daughter is very smart and we have had the conversation about what is and isn't appropriate to mark / write / draw on. We ONLY write & mark on paper, PERIOD.

    But again; she's 3. Takes a while to learn those lessons. Still, i was definitely frustrated & unhappy that she did it.

    I didn't have a screen protector on it because it's an older iPad that I keep by my bed in a stand so I can listen to meditation / subconscious reprogramming over night, on occasion. It gets very little use & stays in the stand at all times.

    I guess now I WILL get a protector for it.

    All my other main / working iPads have always had screen protectors on them. Specifically, IQ Shield because they're the best.

    Anyway; ultimately this is my fault, I had a serious talk with my daughter about it but didn't yell / scream / get angry at her, because that's not who I am and also because she's worth more than all the iPads in the world.

    How is the iPad a productivity device?

    Not a troll post, I'm genuinely curious.

    What makes the iPad a productivity device? Some YouTuber reviewers refer to it as the ultimate productivity device. Is that claim warranted?

    The iPad is surely convenient. It's very portable and can be comfortably operated using touch screen commands. I don't see much beyond that though. Some people praise the iPad for handling emails, document composition, and web browsing, but all of those things could be done on just about any computing device and without the additional requirement of having to purchase a keyboard accessory.

    Some people say the iPad is great for video editing. I can't comment on that because I do not do a lot of video editing, but I imagine a user would also have to manage a database of other sound bits, images, and portions of other videos to slice in. How would a person do all that stuff without a normal desktop-style operating system and just by using touch commands?

    I can see the iPad as a substitute for a Wacom tablet for photo editing, but Wacom tablets are much cheaper and having a large, desktop screen certainly confers some advantages when editing pictures. I can't see photo editing solely as a legitimate reason for getting an iPad from a cost-benefit perspective.

    I think the iPad is a wonderful device that performs exceptionally well, but I do view it mostly as a device for people to consume media rather than produce it. Am I wrong? Are there things a person can do on an iPad that I haven't thought of?

    Best printer for iOS

    I have a basic Epson printer WF-2750 which is great with Windows and Android but is hugely problematic with Air Print / iOS. Has anyone got any first hand experience of a reliable printer that works well with Air Print ? /r/Ipad

    iPad Air 4 - external monitor through USB-C?

    For some reason I'm having a hard time finding concrete information on, whether it's possible to connect an iPad Air 4 to an external monitor with just a USB-C to USB-C cable? Or is this a feature on the iPad Pro's only?

    I asked a guy in an Apple shop who told me it should be possible using the cable that came with the iPad, but I can't seem to get it to work.. Apples website provides kinda vague answers to this question. 🤨

    It says read-only. How can I copy files from the iPad to the HDD, it detects the HDD and I can access the files from the HDD(as is read-only)?

    Hi guys. I have an idea. A triangle shaped block that we can use to support the Magic Keyboard in its flipped position (see pictures below). We can also have the block be completely foldable, so that it won't take much space in a backpack.

    If I had a 3D printer, I could have attempted to make one. But alas, I don't. If you have one, I request you to give it a try.

    I hope some mass manufacturing company picks this up, and sells this. It is definitely gonna sell well.

    iPad Pro 2021 (12.9 in) from Best Buy

    I have obviously seen that the 12.9 model is having some delays on the pre order...however from Best Buy it says it "should ship 5/24"

    This is opposed to apple who is pushed back to nearly July at this point. Should I believe Best Buy and just pre order from there? Seems fishy to have such faster lead time. Thanks!

    Thinking of making my iPad air 3 my main computer for a while.

    So I have a iPad air 3 also a PC. I am planning on switching to Mac but it's gonna be a while. I find my self using my iPad more the. My PC these days and I am thinking about making it my main computer. I'd be hooking it up to a TV and also getting keyboard and mouse. Has anyone else made it their main. Computer ? What dongles would you recommend how did you find the switch ?

    Will a 1080p FaceTime HD front camera be possible on the iPad Pro?

    I think the iPad is the perfect form factor for Zoom calls and videoconferencing in general. I usually have my iPad on my desk on a Zoom call while using my PC or MacBook for taking notes or doing work. The current cameras are better than most Windows laptops, that's for sure, but I think an upgrade is due. My other gripe has been the placement, as ideally I use the iPad in landscape. I'm amazed that the desktop Mac will get "the best" camera, but the iPad is likely the one most people are using for just regular Zoom calls.

    What media player should I use to play 4K HDR .mkv files on iPad Pro?

    I have a rather large collection of 4K HDR .mkv files that I can't wait to watch on my 2021 12.9 inch iPad Pro when it arrives later this month. My question is - what app can I use to watch them? I don't know a whole lot about how video files work, but I am preferably looking for an app that supports both HDR10 and Dolby Vision content.

    EDIT: Also - is it possible for a media player app to allow me to watch HDR10+ media on iPad? Or is that something that Apple would have to add to iPadOS first?

    iPad Pro 2018 - DisplayPort Alternate Mode support?

    I'm looking at docking station-type solutions for my iPad Pro but most require 'USB-C DP-alt', I assume for video pass-through.

    Can someone please confirm if the 2018 iPad Pro has DisplayPort Alternate Mode capabilities - I've been searching for hours and I still can't find an answer.
