| Finally switch to iOS! Few questions about notifications Posted: 19 May 2021 12:10 AM PDT I just made my switch from Android to iOS, as I planned in a previous thread in this subreddit. Everything wents fine, but on notifications I have few questions. I configuree "groups notifications" for iMessage and Gmail, and it works close fine like Android. But when I click on it, it doesn't open the app, it just expand to see individual messages. Whant I want is that it opens the apps directly, and not in a particular conversation, but on the main view, as there is different Conversations or Mail to browse. Do you know if it's possible? They fluctuate at updates but it's becoming harder and harder to create storage to update at all. When I am surfing on net using Safari and want to check any instagram link I was used that the link openned instagram and showed me the profile using the app. Now with ios 14.5.1 when I open the link it is opened in Safari and when I pusht the switch to the app button it opens just app store. | I wish we could disable notifications from reactions Posted: 18 May 2021 10:02 AM PDT Around half of my notifications are from people reacting to my messages (e.g John liked "I'll do it tonight"). It's really annoying because those notifications are indistinguishable from regular texts until you read the message preview. I don't want to turn on Do Not Disturb because, thanks to online classes, I can't really ignore my texts for too long in case it's a lab partner asking a question or something. But I wish there were a setting that could turn off notifications from reactions though. Those notifications are occasionally useful as an indication that my message was acknowledged, but more often than not it's just distracting. [link] [comments]  | ||

| Posted: 18 May 2021 03:24 PM PDT I opened my messages yesterday and half of them were deleted. I've tried literally everything to get them back I realized that I didn't update to it the newest iOS on my phone which is iOS 14.5 and even after that they didn't come back. I lost 2 years of messages off of my phone. I just also ran out of storage so I don't know if that's the cause and maybe if I add more storage it'll come back. | Connecting iPhone XR to laptop (windows) causes problems Posted: 18 May 2021 08:45 PM PDT As the title says, whenever I connect my iPhone XR (running iOS 14.4.1) to my windows laptop, it causes most of my iOS apps to crash on startup after I remove the cable. This started when I factory reset my laptop with the phone still connected (I forgot to disconnect). Even after updating my laptop it still seems to happen and the only solutions are to factory reset my phone or reset my network settings. I've tried around 5 times to connect my phone to see if it happens and it still does. Shutting down my phone didn't work and I did restart my computer multiple times as well as searching online for answers to no avail. I even used a thunderbolt to connect between devices which didn't work. I haven't tried this on my iPad as it is very old and in need of charging. This doesn't brick my phone but it does render just about any app that isn't from stock iOS useless. What's happens is that whenever I open an app it immediately crashes during loading. Almost ever app that isn't a browser or stock iOS app Edit: I factory reset my phone, it still doesn't work. I'm backing up my laptop to see if it'll work after I factory reset my laptop. I also tried my iPad and it didn't crash so it must've been the iOS update. I also forgot to mention that downloading or updating apps on the phone while in this state doesn't work, and instead just goes into a download loop. [link] [comments]  |
