The Verge is reporting Apple won’t offer music purchases in lossless quality or allow for upgrading purchased tracks to lossless via iTunes Match.

    Posted: 17 May 2021 11:00 AM PDT

This is a huge disappointment for me. I don't care much for streaming and have been holding out on buying anything digital from Apple until lossless is offered. Looks like I'll have to wait a few more years (if it ever comes).

"Apple has confirmed to The Verge that lossless audio is exclusive to Apple Music and thus subscription-only. The company won't offer music purchases in lossless quality, nor will there be any way to upgrade owned tracks to lossless with the paid iTunes Match service."

It would be nice to have a new Apple Store format for smaller cities.

    Posted: 17 May 2021 02:06 PM PDT

I'm suggesting this on the 20th anniversary of the Apple Store. The Apple Store is great, whenever I visit a big city in Canada, I love going to the Apple Store and spending up to an hour browsing the store, at least pre-pandemic. The customer service is better, better management and maybe a better repair service. However, it would be great if Apple created a new smaller format for smaller cities with populations of 75,000 to around 300,000. It could be called Apple Store Mini or Apple Store Express, I feel this would lead to a higher satisfaction rating because the Apple "Premium Reseller" in my city has mixed reviews and a okay reputation. I would support such idea if possible.
