AirPods should have the same tracking capabilities as AirTags

    Posted: 09 May 2021 12:21 PM PDT

I can't imagine that it would be very hard for Apple to implement something like this for new AirPod products since the AirTags are small and relatively cheap. The current location tracking for the AirPods is really sucky and a lot of people would appreciate being able to pinpoint their AirPods.

Warren Buffett Gushes Over Tim Cook, Calls Him One of the Best Managers in the World

    Posted: 09 May 2021 05:01 PM PDT

Warren Buffett gushed over the management and leadership skills of Apple CEO Tim Cook on Saturday as the renowned investor presided over Berkshire Hathaway's annual shareholders meeting.

Buffett compared Cook to legendary Apple co-founder Steve Jobs, noting that while Jobs was a tech and business visionary, Cook has had a huge impact on the company's climb to a $2 trillion-plus market valuation.

Berkshire Hathaway has traditionally stayed away from high-flying tech firms; most of its profits come from railroads, insurance, utilities and energy businesses. But in 2016 Buffett began buying Apple shares. At present Berkshire owns about 5.3% Apple, after investing about $36 billion.

"He's handled that business so well," Buffett said of Cook, who took the reins of Apple after Jobs' death in 2011. "He couldn't do what Steve Jobs could do in terms of creation, but Steve Jobs couldn't do what Tim Cook has done in many respects."

I’m a journalist covering the Apple-Epic Games trial. Ask me anything!

    Posted: 09 May 2021 09:00 AM PDT

Hi r/apple! My name is Michael Acton and I'm a reporter for MLex in San Francisco. I was in court in Oakland last week for start of the Apple-Epic trial, and I've been closely following Epic's lawsuit since it was filed last year.

Apple's App Store is drawing heat from politicians and regulators around the world, and we're all over the story. MLex is a global subscription newswire that specialises in legal and regulatory news. That means our coverage of cases like this is more granular and detailed than most publications.

For the next few hours I'm happy to answer any questions you have!

I'm tweeting about the trial every day here:

And you can learn more about MLex here:

    And follow MLex here:

    **** Update ***\*

I'm going to take a break for a bit, but please do keep asking me about the case and I will get around to answering. I've had some great, insightful questions today, so thank you, and I hope this has been helpful for all you Apple-followers.

CalcuSplit: A multi-runner stopwatch for the track

    Posted: 09 May 2021 03:14 PM PDT

Hi Reddit, I'm back with my second app: CalcuSplit.

This one is designed for anyone who needs to time multiple runners on the track - think coaches, friends organizing a race, etc. It's designed to be quick and easy-to-use… both aspects that were missing from existing multi-stopwatch apps on the App Store.

The basic features are all free, including:

    • Adding and timing multiple runners
    • Tracking races and workouts
    • Viewing and saving the results

For a small IAP ($1.99 in the US) you get:

    • Bulk import from CSV
    • Historical data (including events from before you purchase premium
    • Export results to CSV and HTML

Screenshots: iPhone Stopwatch, iPad Stopwatch, Results, History

The app as layouts specifically designed for both iPhone and iPad. If you think this might be useful, please take a look, and if you like it, recommend it to other runners in your life.

We created a photography app where you can only share with others true original content. You can't use your gallery. Give us feedback

    Posted: 09 May 2021 02:13 AM PDT

The idea started with creating a social network where only instant photography is allowed, this means that you can't upload pictures from your gallery. Then we added game elements, like real time ranking for photos and users.

    Main features:

    • snap a picture and choose only 1 hashtag, every # represents a challenge where you compete in real time with other users.

    • It has only original, sincere content, you can only participate to challenges only with instant photography, you can't choose photos from your camera roll.

    • we will never add ads and never use third party trackers, we value your privacy. We will never monetize using users data.

    • It's an RPG, each action in the social network makes you gain exp, from upvotes to comments to posting photos. Your camera is your character, that grows at every new level you achieve with new skills. Each photo and all users of the community are ranked, the main objective is gaining exp until you achieve the final rank: the Moonstar!

We are a small team that is looking for feedback. We want to create a social useful and fun for the community of photographers.

Currently we are in beta testing, so you can download the app for iOS and iPadOS from this testflight link:
