Does anyone else feel the same way?

    Posted: 06 Mar 2021 09:23 AM PST

So I have an iPhone 8 Plus. The only reason I haven't gotten a new phone is because I like the phone like this. The main reason is the home button. I like just having a physical button to press.

My frustration is that the iPhone 8 Plus is the newest phone with a big screen AND a home button. I know that the iPhone SE has a home button, but they don't have a larger option with that model.

Like as i said before, I'm currently fine with the phone i have, but as time goes on the iPhone 8+ will get phased out from updates. I just think Apple really needs to up their game with the SE in the future

[Question] Can you see the IR from your iPhone?

    Posted: 05 Mar 2021 09:16 PM PST

The first time I noticed it was on my iPhone 5. I could only see it if I was in a completely dark room. At that time it was the proximity sensor, but on my new iPhone with Face ID, I can see to the left a very tiny, bright red dot and to the right (of the speaker) a larger, paler dot. The dot I would say is like the hole in the cap of a bic pen.

I have been reading more posts and some people don't believe me. Well, if you want to try it just be in a very dark room. It's not enough to be in full sunlight and lock yourself in, no. It must be like when you go to sleep, at first you see everything super dark and after a few minutes you can see better? Well, like this.

Once you have been there for several minutes. Open the camera and select portrait mode. Make sure the front camera is on. You will see the lights I mentioned. Also, if you have an iPhone 12 Pro/Max as is my case, when selecting portrait mode if you switch to the rear camera and put the iPhone on some surface that does not illuminate (if you turn it over in your hand it does not work. You have to avoid the light from the screen reflecting on you) you will see the lidar sensor dot. It is slightly larger than the one on the front camera, but not much more.

    iPhone 12 back tempered glass?

    Posted: 05 Mar 2021 10:53 PM PST

I want to use my phone almost naked, just with tempered glass on front and back, in case I drop it. For front, I already got one from the apple store I bought the phone for.

For back, I haven't found one at any place, and most of Amazon products look like a scam.

Tell me what you're using or what I can use.

    No cases please.

Apple iPhone focusing algorithm vs 3rd Party

    Posted: 05 Mar 2021 07:09 PM PST

Has anybody noticed that with iPhone 12 Pro Max (probably other iPhones too), that you cannot get the camera to focus as closely with any 3rd party camera app as it will with the native phone camera? I'm talking about 30-50% closer, even with the same lens choice.

    iPhone automated photo editor

    Posted: 05 Mar 2021 12:14 PM PST

A couple days ago, I went to my camera roll and saw this small section where my iPhone had generated 2 edits to 2 pictures on my phone. 1 photo had the levels adjusted to it, and the other turned a live photo into a stable loop/gif. For some reason, that section is gone and I don't see any options within my photos to make similar edits.

I hope this all made sense, can someone tell me how to get it again? I thought turning the live photo into a stable gif was super cool and would love to do it to some other photos.

How did you set up your home screen to avoid distraction and get work done?

How did you set up your home screen to avoid distraction and get work done?

The iPhone and iOS are great tools to help me in my daily work. However, they give also a lot of distraction because of all the information you hold in your hand and the access it gives to the world.

Can you share how you deal with this? Do you have a special setup for your home screen? Can you share for inspiration?

This is my setup with below the link for further explanation:
