| iPhone 7 stuck on white screen Posted: 12 Mar 2021 07:40 PM PST I've recieved an old iPhone 7 from a friend that was factory reset. It said I had to update it to activate it so I went into the recovery mode the one with the charger and the monitor icons on it and tried to update through iTunes. Close to the end it showed error code 9 and the iPhone now refuses to start and gets stuck on a white screen with the Apple logo. It does not go into the recovery mode anymore but if I hold power and volume for 10 seconds then let go of power my PC detects it and iTunes says it's in recovery mode and starts to extracting the update but then gets stuck on waiting for iPhone and if I replug it in a couple times or repeat the power + volume down it gives error 4014. Is there anyway I can fix this? Is it possible the cable is just messed up? it's in pretty bad shape. I've also tried different usb ports and different windows PC's. [link] [comments]  |
| Drooled a drop of saliva on my Macbook Air’s touchpad Posted: 12 Mar 2021 10:35 AM PST So as the title says I drooled a single drop of saliva on my macbook's touchpad and the touchpad stopped working along with the keyboard. Then the computer shutdown and I waited a bit and foolishly turned it back on (which I know now I wasn't supposed to do) but it worked and booted slowly but did fully boot and turn on. It's jus the touchpad and keyboard aside from the power button don't work. I followed a YouTube video and turned it upside down in a teepee shape and put a small fan on the keyboard and left it to dry last night. It said leave it for 48 hours, but I'm curious what steps I can do or what the damage will be. Any help is appreciated. [link] [comments]  |
| MacBook pro broken screen backup Posted: 12 Mar 2021 08:40 PM PST A bit last minute but I am submitting my MacBook Pro 2017 for repair and they said that I would lose all the data and they can't help me with the backup. I have tried connecting with an external source (HDTV) and can hear the voiceover but cannot see the display. The voiceover is stuck at "Reset Password" and nothing I try has moved it. The keyboard is working as CAPS lock can be turned off and on and also the power button, etc. I have tried Command + all the function keys. Nothing happened... | AirPods Pro charging case won’t charge? Posted: 12 Mar 2021 05:23 PM PST Hello, this afternoon I took my AirPods out after work just to find they were dead, even though I charged the case this morning. I came home and plugged in the case, as well as put it on my wireless charger, neither of them power the case up (they both work for my phone). When I plug the case in or put it on the wireless charger however, the light still pops up on the case. I'm not too sure where to go from here, any help is appreciated. [link] [comments]  |

If I buy an AT&T version from BestBuy, can I have it unlocked if I pay full price? I have AT&T and T-Mobile and I need it to be unlocked so I can use it in dual-SIM mode. | iPhone iMessage auto fill issue Posted: 12 Mar 2021 06:13 PM PST So I just noticed on my iPhone iMessages I went to type in a contact and one showed up "faxnumberisXxxxxxxxxx". With the X's being a number. How can I remove that? It's not a contact or anything. And I hit the little i but nothing is clickable. Clicking Okay and exiting preferences does not save the setting. Edit: and Downtime did not engage... Edit2: and the Screen Time passcode if accessing from their account is the old Screen Time passcode, but if accessing from our account, it's the new one... Edit3: I was able to enable Downtime, but had to do it from my child's account... Still cannot block websites. [link] [comments]  |
| Posted: 12 Mar 2021 09:56 PM PST I have a iPhone 5s and when I got the notification that my storage was almost full I started deleting stuff. That's when I noticed that even though it would say a photo was deleted I could leave and go back in and it would still be there. I've tried looking up a solution to this and everything I found just said to turn off iCloud photos. I tried that yet it still would'nt delete any photos. My phone has never connected to another device nor is there any other device that shares the iCloud with it. (When I say I cant delete any photos that also means I went into my previously deleted and tried permanently deleting those and it also didn't work.) [link] [comments]  |

I know that there's an option to choose iClould backup. Is this known to cause any issues? For example, if I went from an iPhone SE to a 12 Pro, would this create any conflicts? What is the difference between this method and syncing apps via iCloud? Does the iCloud backup save how I've organized my phone, for example the folders and screens I've created and any apps that I've downloaded? Would you recommend I setup a new phone manually? It's in: Settings>Cellular>System Settings I've noticed over the past few months that it keeps getting higher every month. I've compared my phone to family members and friends and they don't seem to have the amount of usage that I'm seeing. I reset the stats at the start of my billing cycle so this recent screenshot is around 1.5 to 2 weeks in. I'm up to 47.9 MB Can someone please offer me some insight on this? Thank you! When I finished editing my video in imovie i accidentally deleted the original video from my camera roll. I tried to redownload the video from imovie but now when I try to open the video i get a pop up saying that the video is currently being downloaded from my icloud yet i wait for an hour and there is no response or alert that says the video is done being downloaded. Also I wasn't sure which was the most relevant flair so apologies if it's not. — The other day I looked at the battery quality on my iPhone 7plus and it said I think 86%. Back in October last year it was around 82% and so I decided to take it to apple for a battery replacement. They attempted the replacement but my phone apparently wouldn't turn back on so they simply gave me a new one. (Reason no.741 why you should always backup your devices before taking them in) Now, I didn't think anything of it at the time. My phone was in excellent condition to begin with but it seemed to be in my advantage that I just got handed a brand new phone. Until the other day... What I went to apple for was a nice new battery to give my phone some extra life. What I received was a nice new phone but a phone that had been sitting around for probably quite a while and therefore a battery that was definitely not at its top performance. So I know there's very little I can do about it now because it's been about 5 months since they replaced my phone but I can't help but feel I paid for a service that I actually didn't receive? It means that my battery life will be less and therefore I'll be back at apple for a replacement sooner than I should have been had they actually given me a new battery. | Icloud settings stuck on loading Posted: 12 Mar 2021 06:47 PM PST So, I had an issue with my shift button not working, leading me to reset my macbook password. Ended up fixing it but I lost all my keychain data since I reset my password. I then found out that I could get access to my old keychain by enabling keychain access again through my settings. I tried to enable it and it gave me the popup in the picture. I entered in the password correctly but for some reason it is stuck on loading and won't do anything. I have tried restart my macbook, but it wouldn't let me since I have the system preferences app open. It's been like this for about 20 minutes now. Does anyone know how I can fix this? I pull up safari, with google as my search engine, and nothing will load and the session will time out. If I change my search engine, it works just fine. And this only happens over LTE, not WiFi. Something I used on my 7 all the time was the thing where you pressed down hard on the keyboard while typing and it would allow you do scroll to any spot on the words you've typed. Posted: 12 Mar 2021 12:14 PM PST When I go in to delete voicemails, after I hit delete the vms shift around a bit, then the wrong voicemail ends up in the deleted folder.
