Anyone else annoyed by the icon inconsistency in BigSur?? Posted: 02 Feb 2021 01:39 AM PST This is just going to be a rant... but yesterday I updated my 15inch MBP from Catalina 10.15.7 to Big Sur 11.2... I knew about the design change and I thought that by now most apps adapted the BigSur icon design. To my surprise that is still not the thing... Altho adobe has those rounded corners but their icons are smaller... why tho adobe why 🤨... how come Microsoft has and iOS style icon but not the MacOS... is there a way to make MS Teams icon on my mac to look like that on the iPhonee? macOS Big Sur 11.2 now supports 5120 x 1440 output to Samsung C49RG9 Ultrawide Displays on M1 MacBook Pros Posted: 01 Feb 2021 02:05 PM PST Big Sur 11.2 fixed my biggest issue where output to my Samsung Ultrawide C49RG9 was limited to 3080 x 1080. I now have it scaled to 5120 x 1440 at 120 Hz. Great to have some of my screen real estate back and crisper text. Hope this helps a lot of you who have gone ultrawide. After the install, I found that Safari was updated to show the URL of the link you're hovering on. NTFS for Mac under Big sur Posted: 02 Feb 2021 02:37 AM PST So I've been using NTFS for Mac from Paragon on my previous Macs with no problem. I need them for a common drive we use at work. With Big Sure, it now tells me NTFS can't mount this drive. Camera not working after Big Sur update Posted: 01 Feb 2021 10:30 PM PST Hi, my camera stopped working after updating to Big Sur last January, I updated late because of all the bugs I heard about it, but here we are. I thought about having it fixed at a third-party repair shop (my unit is out of warranty) but they said it'll cost $500+ because the camera module is connected to the screen, so they'll change that too. I tried resetting PRAM, SMC, downgrading to Catalina, doing fresh install, killing video processes, etc, but it still won't work :( They also said some users are having the same problem too after updating to Big Sur, indeed it's true, I found an ongoing thread at the Apple Communities (Forum) about the same issue of camera not working after the BS update. Some already reported it to Apple, and Apple is saying it's a hardware issue, but it happened after the Big Sur update, so I don't buy that.
