| restore SE 1st gen - keeps failing Posted: 14 Jan 2021 11:08 PM PST So I have had to get my old SE and realized I dont remember what code I entered when last using it. Been trying to do a complete restore without updating, but it keeps failing with error 1394. I'm trying to get iOS12.3 so idk what's the last allowed version. All I know is I DO NOT want to get the latest version. Can anyone shed a light on what version I can restore it to without slowing down an oldie? [link] [comments]  |
| Posted: 14 Jan 2021 10:40 PM PST So, I've had this phone for a few weeks now and at some point today the back must have cracked, it's most likely when it slipped through my pocket and hit the floor although it hit the front not the back. Unfortunately, all the suggestions don't work. 1) I can't use the screen to unlock my phone 2) iTunes won't recognize the phone plugged into my computer because I cannot unlock it 3) Findmyiphone doesn't recognize my phone because it won't connect to the internet Is there some sort of button pushing combinations that would work? | Posted: 14 Jan 2021 08:26 PM PST I just returned an iphone 12 mini to Verizon. I'm usually good at remembering to factory reset a phone whenever that phone will be out of my possession for an extended period (e.g. mail away maintenance, etc). When I was returning the phone, the Verizon rep said I needed to turn off the Find My locator in the phone. I did as he asked. After which the phone went into it's retail box and I never looked at it again. I didn't turn off the face recognition unlock or show anyone at the store my apple ID password. I didn't realize I had forgotten to factory reset the phone until I was driving home. I had a thought that I could remotely format the phone from my iPad at home but since I disabled the Find My app, i cannot see the phone in the app to cause a remote erase. My question is am I boned here? I could go back to the Verizon store tomorrow but whether or not I could find the exact phone there anymore is doubtful. [link] [comments]  |

| Iphone stays black even after Call Posted: 14 Jan 2021 07:30 PM PST So Proximity Sensor also works on Instagram video calls, and Snapchat Audio Messages. I was listening to an Audio from a friend on Snapchat when Proximity Sensor just randomly made my phone black despite it being far away from my face. This also happens when I'm on Call on Instagram Facetime. When the Audio is finished/When Facetime has stopped my screen still stays black. The only option I can do I shut it off. I can't Press the "Cancel" button of the Bottom it won't let me. The only Option I can do is shut it off. I tried to let it come back after 30 seconds, and it continued to stay black. My face was nowhere near the sensor. Nothing was on it anyway. What can I do for my screen to stop staying black after my calls are over? Is it even possible? I really fucking hate Proximity sensor. | Posted: 14 Jan 2021 07:11 PM PST iPhone 7 iOS 14.3 There are two quirks relating to web use with the safari app that have begun to drive me insane. All attempts to lookup the issues just lead to irrelevant content. Problem one: how to keep the iPhone in incognito mode, but stop safari from constantly asking me if I want to open random website in the app. I haven't figured out a way to achieve one without disabling the other. Problem two: how to actually watch a video I have clicked on without being redirected to the webpage that the video is embedded within. This particular problem never really occurred until (years ago) iOS updated to the long press preview features. This is what leads me to believe it's a iPhone/safari issue vs. just an issue with google. It could be the other way though. I will search for something in google, move over to the video tab and only one out of about 5 will actually start to play the video, while the rest will take me to a webpage where I have to scroll around like crazy to find where the video is located therein. My phone can connect to WiFi and lte but it can't use it. Some things such as Tiktok can load the preview of the tik toks I have posted but can't load a single other thing. I just went into the battery settings and the maximum capacity is at 95%. About two weeks ago, it was 98%. Posted: 14 Jan 2021 04:22 PM PST I have had an iPhone 11 Pro Max for almost a year from Sprint, but a couple of months ago, I signed up for Google Fi. New number, with a Pixel 4a. Today, I was curious and threw my Fi SIM card into my Sprint iPhone and set it up through the Fi app. Everything works great. Texts, data, calls, etc. However, I noticed that my iPhone still says it's SIM locked under the About section in the settings. Should I not be doing this? | Iphone XR screen suddenly grey Posted: 14 Jan 2021 02:39 PM PST Hi, this is my first post on Reddit so apologies if I'm not doing something right! About an hour ago I picked my XR up and the screen went from locked-mode regular-black, to a lighter grey when I pressed the lock button to wake it up. I have tried hard reset (volume up/down/lock) so many times, I have it plugged into a charger and nothing is changing. The apple logo doesn't appear at all. The LCD screen itself still works (if that's the right term for the screen) as when I press the bottom left of the screen the torch comes on and off, but obviously with a grey screen I can't use any other features of the phone. Does anyone have any idea what could be the cause of this? Any experience or advice on fixing it? I haven't updated it lately and was prompted to do last night however it wasn't plugged in overnight so it didn't go ahead- likely to be something to do with that? I had the screen and LCD replaced around 4-6 weeks ago and have had no issues, no major drops, it lives in it's case with a glass screen protector too. Well today this number has called me 4 times so far and after blocking it the 2nd time it called it's still coming through. It actually just called me again as I was typing this for a 5th time. I finally answered, it's some stupid factory warranty call for cars. Why is the blocking function no longer working?? No notification was popping up so I went through and checked my notification settings and turned them off for apps I never use. wearing my apple watch it still vibrates my phone. I decided to turn the vibration setting off and turn on the silent to ringer on and it makes random dings. It sounds like the mail ding but it isn't from that, I have it off. | Can’t get rid of undeliverable text notification Posted: 14 Jan 2021 12:38 PM PST My work uses a 6s to text with clients. We have hundreds of message threads, going back two years, and we have to keep them. The phone has the red exclamation point undeliverable message badge and I can't find the threads I need to delete to get rid of it. It's driving me nuts because every time I see it, I think there's a text. I've spent way too much time going back through and have deleted several threads that had undeliverable msgs, but the badge is still there.
