    Macbook airplay to LG Smart TV, help with lag

    Posted: 16 Jan 2021 03:08 AM PST

    Hi.
    I've moved to a new apartment some months ago, when I first moved, everything was fine, I used airplay on my LG tv and it worked flawlessly. Just chilling and watching an episode of adventure time, everything was cool.

    Yesterday I picked back on the idea to airplay stream something from my mac to the TV again but everything has a constant 1-second lag. The video stops every one or every half a second, it's unwatchable.

    I've tried:

    - Turn the router on and off for 10mins.

    - Reset the airplay connection on the TV itself

    - Turn off macbook's bluetooth

    - Different video formats, but everything lags, it's lagging on the airplay stream itself, not a specific app or video format.

    - The youtube app, netflix, or any other native apps on the TV itself play fine, absolutely flawless, it's streaming those or any other via airplay that will lag.

    - Typing this on reddit with airplay on atm, for the sake of experimentation, even my mouse and keyboard will lag and show different on my macbook and the TV itself.

    Does anyone think they can help? :/

    Question about Apple TV on Mac

    Posted: 15 Jan 2021 09:18 PM PST

    Hi,

    I recently bought a AppleTV 4K.

    I have it set up on my tv the way I want it, but how do I configure it the same way on my Mac?

    I am logged into the same Apple ID.

    I cannot figure out how to find the Home Screen on my Mac like it appears on the Apple TV device with the apps that I regularly watch. I thought that it would be seamless and whatever favorite apps appeared on the TVs Home Screen through my Apple ID would also appear on my Mac and iPhone.

    Can someone help?!

    Thank you.

    Help connecting iphone remote to apple tv

    Posted: 15 Jan 2021 08:02 PM PST

    I own a 3rd gen apple tv and lost my remote. I tried using the built in one on my iphone 12 but in order to connect, it's telling me to input a code onto the tv. Sadly, I can't do that as I have no remote to input the code with. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Allow Access should default to “only this home” until changed

    Posted: 15 Jan 2021 01:59 PM PST

    Every time I'm in my living room my neighbours' Apple TV pops up, I am too far away to actually play anything on there but the fact that Apple made that even a thing by default is ridiculous. If people want to have it open for people, let them have the option, but for people who buy the Apple TV and don't know they can turn that setting off it makes sense to have it more private.

    Thank you

    Does the Apple TV's remote Siri voice control allow you to search Plex libraries?

    3rd Party Remotes with Physical buttons?

    Posted: 15 Jan 2021 11:44 AM PST

    I watch NBA League Pass through my AppleTV, and I often start games about an hour after they tip off so that I can skip easily through commercials, free throws, and stoppages.

    However, I hate the 1st party AppleTV remote. It is completely unusable.

    Using the iPhone remote is pretty dang good, but overall a ~ B+ experience. I dislike the fact that it is a touch screen, and I only have buttons for 10sec<- & 10sec->. It is lacking in complete precision.

    Ideally, I want a physical remote with these actual buttons:

    • play / pause

    • 15sec<-

    • 10sec<-

    • 5sec<-

    • 3sec<-

    • 15sec->

    • 10sec->

    • 5sec->

    • 3sec->

    Does something like this exist???

    Apple TV Gen 1 issues

    Posted: 15 Jan 2021 08:05 AM PST

    Hey all, I still am running the first Apple TV, and I'm having non stop issues with apps not loading, apps loading but freezing, and general lag through out. Anyone else experiencing this? Also is it just time to upgrade to the newer one?
