    An app that is not installed on my phone is eating my battery

    Few days ago i opened zalando website to check one item. I did not install any apps/applets or gave any special permissions. Yet, today I noticed that zalando app has been constantly eating my battery. The best part: i do not have zalando app on my phone, it is not even available in my app store (US store).

    It does not show up in the applets section, it does not shop up anywhere on my phone, except the battery consumption section.

    Wrote to zalando support, they said this is not their problem and wished me a good day.

    What is happening?

    Privacy concerns using WhatsApp web on iPad Safari

    Hi. Just deleted WhatsApp from my personal (primary) iPhone. Replaced it by Signal. However, had to install WhatsApp on another iPhone (different iCloud ID and without any location/contacts/photos permissions etc) for some stubborn yet important groups who are not willing to move away.

    My question: would it be as bad (from privacy perspective) if I use the web WhatsApp within safari on my primary iPad as compared with using the iPhone app? And what compromises, if any, I'm making on privacy if I use Web WhatsApp in Safari

    Problem adding other email to gmail

    Hello together! I recently switched from Android to iPhone and currently in the process of setting everything up. Today I've encountered the following problem:

    I want to set up my personal email to Gmail. It is an independent one, meaning it looks like this [sam@sample.de](mailto:sam@sample.de) just with my name and lastname.

    However, when I click on "Add account" in the app, it only shows me "Other (IMAP)". My mailbox is a POP though. Hence the setup always fails.

    Apart from that, I managed to add an "Account" in my iPhone, which makes the mailbox show up correctly in the iPhone "Mail" app.

    So my only concern is that I want to be able to access the mailbox via the Gmail app as well.
    Does anyone know if this is even possible? Many thanks!

    How does the battery drain over night look like for you guys? I'm draining around 5-6% at night with no use. (I don't charge it when I sleep) hows the battery over all? I'm on IOS 14.3

    A possible solution to fix Wifi issue on iOS 14.3

    Hi guys, it's my first time to post on reddit, so if there is something wrong, please tell me :)

    I'm having the same problem- every time when I turn off my PC few minutes later, my iPhone 7+ (iOS 14.3) did connect to router but there is no internet connection(or just happened randomly) so I did some observation for few days and seems find the solution.

    There are some solutions I tried but didn't work:

    Turn off bluetooth

    Reset the router

    Reset network setting

    Forget wifi and rejoin

    Turn off wifi assist

    Disable VPN

    Update router

    Turn on Low Data Mode

    Force restart iPhone

    Turn off private address (sometime works)

    ​

    These are some solutions I didn't tried but it may work:

    DFU (Device Firmware Upgrade)

    Reset the phone

    ​

    Few days ago, my phone is on private address and I tried to fix the problem on my router settings (the model is Dlink DIR-853)

    I found the phone did connected but it's a gray box in the image

    Still not connected to internet.

    So I set a reserved IP address to mac address of private address(the .111 one) (I'm not sure it's necessary or not), disable the private address mode- it did connected to internet again but didn't working too long.

    Then I tried to set the router from both 2.4ghz/5ghz to only 5ghz (make sure all your devices are able to use 5ghz) and it works fine now.

    (If you have a Nintendo Switch, don't forget the change the channel between 52-64)

    It may be a bug about iOS 14.3 with wifi 2.4ghz because former version didn't have this problem. Hope you can fix the problem too or wait for next update which may have new problem again (thanks a lot Apple)

    Please can anyone help? I cannot get rid of this suggested website when I long press the chrome app on iPad Pro (latest iOS). I’ve cleared history and deleted the app and it still shows. Sorry if this is the wrong place to ask.

    Issue with Music in iPhone

    Posted on Applehelp, but so far no response, so posting here as well, please do help.

    So, i am now on my new iPhone, 12 Mini. I moved to it from previous one X, which i had after 5S.

    Now i randomly found out, i miss some music on the new phone, and checking the X, it was not there either, but it was on the 5S. Actually, i fired up the 5S again and it says i had there 13GB music, while on 12Mini its just 12,5GB - and there is some new music on 12Mini, copied from X, which was not on the 5S, so clearly, there is several hundreds of MB of music missing.

    Is there any way to copy the music from the 5S to 12 Mini now safely, while keeping the new stuff i got since i stopped using 5S (all the songs i downloaded while using X and now 12Mini. I mean, automatic way, without going over 2000 songs in 2 phones comparing manually, which ones are missing.

    EDIT: So PC iTunes says, i have 1862 songs on 12, while 1938 on 5S. I right-clicked on 5S´s music in iTunes and chose Back-up, then connected 12Mini, and under its Music, wanted to choose "restore from back-up" but its greyed out. What the hell.

    One more thing, when i click on Music on 5S, i see nice list of songs, alphabetically ordered, when i do the same on 12S, they are ordered by artist, i cant change it, and most importantly, lot of songs is greyed out with the dash space circle icon.

    Battery stats

    Is there any app which records battery data in a similar way to how android handles it? what I mean is I would prefer to have an application which tells me the usage based on the last time I was connected to a charger or even less tender is charged up to 100%. The last 24 hours thing makes it a little bit difficult for me to track exactly what I need to track.

    Also, I would really love it if the app of the capability of showing me the percentage usage based on the total battery capacity and not the amount used so far. Like, If it's telling me that Instagram used 10% of my battery, I want that to be 10% of the total 100 that this is capable of providing. not 10% of the 30% that I've used so far.

    Need help

    So recently I found my lost ipad mini, but I can't set it up just yet because my apple id is disabled (probably due to 3-4 years of inactivity). I, luckily, still remember my ID and password but have forgotten the trusted cell phone number used for two step authentication as I've stopped using that number a looong time ago and it was the ONLY trusted device. What shall I do now to regain access? Any help is appreciated.

    Yesterday it was all normal, but today, once i tap a notification, it slides and shows up an "open" (abrir) button. I don't want it, i want to open the content just by tapping the notification itself.

    I do not think that she turned Messages on in Icloud

    How can she recover this text chat?

    FYI: I still have everything. Is there a way to export the chat to her?

    Chat-Notifications and multiple messages

    I just received my iPhone 12 Pro yesterday. I am very happy with it, but I noticed one annoying thing with chat apps and notifications:

    If someone sends me for example 6 Messages in Instagram or Discord, they all pop up as a notification (which is nice). After I clicked one of them and get into the chat, the clicked one goes away but the other 5 stay in the notification bar.

    This gets really annoying when getting shared multiple posts on Insta for example. My friend with another iPhone 12 doesn't have this problem, if he opens the chat all the notifications vanish.

    Is there a setting I did miss turning on or off?

    Is there a better automatic backup system for the iPhone/iOS than the built-in Apple way or iMazing?

    I'm looking for a better backup solution from my iPhone to my Mac (currently newest macOS Catalin):

    • The built-in Apple way is odd. It just shows a spinner for a long time, no visible progress bar, occasionally fails, but is "OK". However, unlike Time Machine, there's no automatic backup whether the iPhone is plugged in or on wifi — what an odd omission.
    • Trying iMazing. Seemed promising despite long backup times and sometimes not updating visible progress. Runs a few backups, then gets to a frustrating state with an "AES Error" and I have to reset settings or it doesn't show the iPhone. Has happened a couple times now after it was running smoothly. Feels disruptive and I am unhappy.

    Any better solutions out there that are:

    • LOCAL — not iCloud, I have a family of iOS devices that would exceed 2 TB not to mention multiple historical backups, so there's not enough space there.
    • Reliable, like the equivalent of Carbon Copy Cloner
    • Can do automatic backups daily, weekly, other intervals
    • Show a better progress status bar
    • Not a knockoff of iMazing (there are some odd ones out there)

    Thanks for any recommendations.

    Bottom part of my screen showing faint imprints from apps I used last. Messengers, FB, etc. IOS14.2 IPhone 8.

    So at the bottom of my screen, it shows a faint menu bar for Facebook. Then after I use the messages app, it will show a faint "123", globe, space bar, etc from the message app when I go to another app. It's very faint and as if they were imprinted on my screen.

    These imprints don't appear in screenshots so I can't post them.

    It stays there every time I use one app, then changes to the last app I used when I change apps, if that makes sense. Restarted my phone but it's an issue that keeps happening.

    Anyone have a similar issue?
