| iPhone 12 Pro doesn’t connect to wifi Posted: 15 Jan 2021 04:38 PM PST So I bought an iPhone 12 Pro about 2 weeks ago (first iPhone in about 4 years), sometimes when I arrive home my phone won't connect automatically to my home wifi (which has the auto-connect option turned on) unless I go into the settings or the menu you pull down from the right top corner and hold wifi and then connect. I always get texts from random emails in group chats (green text kind of) that are like (randomtext).(randomtext).club and I have the option to filter messages from unknown people but I keep getting notifications for them. | Quick Apple ID Question for Clarification Posted: 15 Jan 2021 10:17 PM PST Apple ID help request: Just wanted to clarify I did the right thing here- I wanted to check my Apple ID account because I had the notification in settings for Apple ID settings (it was just about a backup). I typed in my password that I thought I had been using and tried a few variants but it didn't work. I vaguely remember changing my Apple ID at some point within the last year or so but I couldn't remember for sure and didn't have it written down anywhere. I checked to make sure the personal info was the same, checked that 2FA was updated, and didn't see any suspicious activity (save for the odd spam/scam email I get every once in a while-very infrequently and never open them). I left my desk for a few moments to eat or do something and when I came back my computer was asleep. I pressed a key to wake it back up, and everything resumed like normal. Seemed fine. But then when I went to YouTube, I found nothing would play. I thought it might be a safari issue, so I downloaded Chrome, but it had the same issue. No video playback. I rebooted my Mac and the problem was solved, but of course all my work had to be closed and saved. Anyway, I got up a little while ago and came back and it was asleep again, and to my surprise the issue came back! Videos failing to play. This time I tried to open a six second clip in my Photos app to see if it would play, and the Photos app became unresponsive and wouldn't play either. I had to plug it in to a charger to get it to turn back on. It did the same thing when I tried to play a Netflix video. I did a hard restart, and now sound will not play through the speakers from any app. I have: Reset all settings Restored to factory settings Erased and restored Sound plays though connected Bluetooth headphones and I do not have mute or do not disturb turned on. It was said it was out for shipping on the 28th, and delivered on the 30th, however I did not receive the package. The tracking information says left at the door, but there was no package. I contacted Apple that day, and they told me that they would launch an investigation looking into the shipment and get back to me within 3-5 business days. After waiting for 5 business days, I contacted them back and they said they are just waiting for a response from UPS and are experience backlogs. Since it was the holiday season I thought this was reasonable and just waited. Today I received an email from apple saying: "We have received an update regarding your enquiry. Our carrier has completed the requested investigation, and no further action will be taken by Apple" I contacted Apple and was then escalated to a Senior Advisor who did not give me a reason as to why the investigation is closed. The Senior Advisor just kept giving me the same two answers Me: Why is my investigation closed? SA: Your investigation is closed because it has ended. Me: Can I know the reasoning to why the investigation has ended? SA: It has ended because the investigation is closed. As you can see, the SA was just looping in circles and not giving me an answer. I don't know why they were being so mysterious about it, but it was very frustrating. What can I do? They won't issue me a refund or replacement. They told me to contact local authorities and file a police report, but I won't be able to do that since there is a lockdown occurring in the place that I live. Any other options? Since I updated my iPhone 11 pro to ios 14 my Bluetooth disconnect with my airpods pro, then I updated to the latest version of ios and I still face the same problems, when I go to Bluetooth I find it unavailable.
