iphone 7 audio interface not responding Posted: 08 Nov 2020 06:50 PM PST hi, the other day, it was raining and i accidentally dropped my phone into a puddle. it was fully submerged. i grab it quickly put some music for a while and everything worked perfectly. an hour or so later the battery dies and naturally i charged. everything reboot as normally with the exception that no sound was made. speakers where dead and so the mic. volume level was stuck at the middle and it was impossible to move it in any way. headphones doesnt work either but the plug for charging works properly and the volume buttons also work because i can make a soft reset pressing on/off button and lower volume button. a day has passed and it still doesnt work. any idea? if you could help i would really appreciate it. thank you very much! Posted: 08 Nov 2020 11:21 PM PST When charging my iPhone 6s Plus it shows the Apple logo, then boots up, shows the lock screen for a second, then dies, then repeats this process over and over until I take it out, then it does the "No battery" sign. This has been happening for about 12 hours. Can I fix it? [link] [comments] |
iPhone restore from backup keeps getting an error Posted: 08 Nov 2020 10:51 PM PST Hello everyone, I backed up my iPhone XS Max a couple nights ago because it was jailbroken and I wanted to un-jailbreak it. So after backing up I googled how to remove the Unc0ver jailbreak, followed the instructions, (Open the Unc0ver app on your iOS device, Tap the Settings button in the corner, Uncheck all options, Check Refresh Icon Cache and Restore RootFS, Tap Done to return to the main screen, Tap the Restore RootFS button) then Cydia was removed and I deleted the Unc0ver app. Then I thought I might as well update to iOS 14 through iTunes with my phone plugged into my computer. (I have Windows 10). It said it would take about 3 hours so I canceled it and I believe I then chose to restore from backup, but it said the backup was corrupt. I'm assuming that is because I backed up when my phone was jailbroken and now it wasn't? So I googled what to do if my backup is corrupt and it lead me to a reddit post that suggested using Decipher Backup Repair. I purchased the software, ran the repair and at the end of trying to restore with the repaired backup iTunes said there was an error. Same thing happened after doing the advanced repair. Now I'm out of ideas and was hoping someone here would know what to do. Any help is appreciated! [link] [comments] |
constantly repeated issue with exclamation mark on photos Posted: 08 Nov 2020 10:28 PM PST Issue is as title says basically. I know how to solve this problem when it happens. I know which icloud settings to turn off then back on. I know that for me usually just turning my phone off and then back on seems to work. However my real issue is that I get exclamation marks on photos (and then the photos not loading, and not being able to share them or use them in other apps (like instagram)) literally ALL THE TIME. Like it will happen twice in one hour. I wanted to use a photo as a lockscreen background, but my photos had the exclamation mark, so I had to turn things off/on to solve that issue so I could use the photos. Then 45minutes later I was trying to use some photos in my instagram stories and could not because they had gotten the exclamation mark on them again. This happens to me consistently. Using photos with my phone is important to me. I'm saving photos. I'm sharing photos. I'm uploading photos from my photos app into other apps. Etc etc. If this happened even just once a week I'd just turn things off and on and not be too bothered by it. But it's the fact it happens over and over again in a single day almost every day that is driving me crazy. I would like a permanent fix to this problem if it is possible. Preferably a fix that does not require me to give up using icloud to store photos. I can not store all photos on my phone only, when I did that I had the constant issue of always running out of space every few days and having to delete so many photos off my phone that I was only able to keep like 25 photos on my phone tops. I have an iphone 6s if it matters. I am also wondering if this is a problem that newer iphones also have, or no? I have had this 6s since 2015 or 2016, and am definitely due for an upgrade in the near future anyway...so if just getting a new phone is the only way to permanently fix this issue then so be it lol. Posted: 08 Nov 2020 11:20 AM PST My sibling is upgrading from an iPhone 7 to an iPhone 12. I use a Galaxy s8 and don't have a plan to plan on upgrade anytime soon due to my budget. Would it be worth it to take the iPhone 7, replace its battery and keep it as a secondary device? Or would It be better if my sibling did a trade in instead? (Worth 120$ in credit from Apple) I want to get into the apple ecosystem and be able to use IOS features like iMessage and Facetime, while having my android device as my main. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 08 Nov 2020 03:09 PM PST I accidentally spilt water over my iPhone 7+ around 20 mins ago, I immediately dried the surface and continued to use it since it seemed like nothing happened. But just now it suddenly shut down and the apple logo just kept flashing, so I just plugged it into my computer and is trying to update it through iTunes recovery mode now. I just wanna know if I should worry about the hardware being broken or something or is everything going to be fine. Thanks. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 08 Nov 2020 05:20 PM PST Possible Facetime Bug? I have researched this a lot and this seems to be a bug that MANY have complained about. I use Facetime a lot to talk with a friend and have had the audio cutting out when they talk. Also, it seems like i never hear any background noise and i feel this is contributing to this, almost as if some sort of filter is being applied. However, if i mute my mic through Facetime, the audio of my friends gets much clearer and i can hear all the background noises on my friends end. I have an iphone xr and they have an 11 pro max. It seems none of this happened until ios 14. Thanks for the help! [link] [comments] |
iPhone 8+ “randomly” crashing to passcode entry Posted: 08 Nov 2020 08:01 AM PST Hi, I have an iPhone 8+ 64GB. It is on contract with 3 (I am in the UK). It is 1.5yrs old. Recently since updating to iOS 14, I have noticed a recurrent problem but have not been able to identify the trigger. I will be using my phone for something (the examples that happened today were watching YouTube (using YouTube app) and listening to a podcast through the native podcast app). YouTube played through phone speaker, and podcast through BeatsX earphones. Out of nowhere, the screen will go black and display the grey spinning wheel. After around 10-15secs it displays the passcode screen. If I enter my passcode it goes back to normal. It happens intermittently. There are consecutive days where it doesn't happen, then days where it happens multiple times a day. It's really frustrating. Any help / advice / ideas is much appreciated. Thank you in advance. Does Google Photo's app cause duplicates? Posted: 08 Nov 2020 04:36 PM PST Question for you iOS Google Photo's users. What happens if you download a picture from Google Photo's on your iOS device. Say an old picture? Does G-Photo's reupload it as a new photo? Reason I'm asking is that I'm making the switch from Pixel to iOS and I would like to get all my photo's from Google onto the phone and backed up to iCloud. [link] [comments] |
Android won't receive iPhone texts? Posted: 08 Nov 2020 10:07 AM PST Hi, I have an iPhone and my wife has an Android. For some reason in a group text chat none of my messages get received on her end. A new message from me appears separately in her Messages app and it says "Unsupported file". I'm just sending regular text from my iPhone messages app. Sometimes the message comes through and sometimes not. This also happens outside of group chat also. Any ideas? [link] [comments] |

How to completely block number? Posted: 08 Nov 2020 08:14 AM PST Last night I blocked this super creepy number to stop getting texts from them. Then I deleted their conversation in my messages. A few minutes later I got another text from that number even though I blocked them. I unblocked them and then blocked them again but this morning I still received another text. How do I completely block this number and why hasn't it worked? In the past if I ever blocked a number I had no issues. [link] [comments] |
Iphone 7 IOS 11.2.6 update to newer version help!! Posted: 08 Nov 2020 10:23 AM PST Hi, so I have an iphone 6 at IOS 13.7, its battery is draining like theirs no tomorrow so my friend gave me their old iphone 7 that they got free from work and hadn't used (its like new), its got 128gb of space which is awesome, but it's very outdated and it doesn't seem to let me jump from its current IOS 11 to the newest 14.... it's probably a newb question but are there any past updates available to download first, and where do I find them? I don't even need it to be at 14 right away my iphone 6 was working fine with IOS 13 but many apps won't download onto the new iphone 7 with its current software..... plz help thank you [link] [comments] |
Posted: 08 Nov 2020 06:45 AM PST My iPhone won't update, I'm on iOS12 or something and when I go to update, it says "unable to check for update. An error occurred whilst checking for an update" does anyone know what I've done or can do to fix it? [link] [comments] |
Playing from websites + black loading screen Posted: 08 Nov 2020 04:46 AM PST This has happened twice in the last week, however I only remember the website today: I got the widget for when you play something (like a podcast or music) from something called arki.net (or arkki.net, I didn't notice), when I pressed play to see what it was, my screen turned black with the loading symbol, kind of like when your phone doesn't have more power. However it just took me to my lockscreen where I had to unlock it and then everything was fine. Anyone else have this bug or something similar? [link] [comments] |
