| iPhone 6- was filming a video using front camera when suddenly half the screen became blurry- why? Posted: 22 Nov 2020 10:15 PM PST Was using my iPhone 6 taking a video using the front camera. I usually put a sticker on to cover the front camera and had taken it off before taking the video. There was some residue from the sticker but I wiped it all off and camera and video were completely clear. However, about 5 mins into filming the video, suddenly the top part of the screen became foggy. I physically wiped the outside of the camera and it was clear. What could have caused the top part of the screen to become foggy while taking a video but could be wiped off the outside? There was no residue, I was inside so no condensation. Is it possible someone was hacking my camera while I was using it and caused the foggy ness until I wiped it? I realize that if that were so, it wouldn't affect the outside of the camera but I've never seen the video become foggy while taking a video and only half the screen and can't think of what else could have caused it? iPhone 6- was filming a video using front camera when suddenly half the screen became blurry- why? | Why does Apple recommend a 20w power adapter for MagSafe charging? Posted: 22 Nov 2020 08:54 PM PST I'm gonna get a 12 Pro Max soon and want to get the MagSafe charger as well, but I saw that the MagSafe charger charges at up to 15w, and yet Apple recommends using a 20w brick. | I'm locked out of the app store? Posted: 22 Nov 2020 11:37 PM PST So for the past couple of weeks, when I try to download an app, the app store asks me to enter my password after my touch id. For the life of me I can't remember it, so I keep trying to go to the next step and enter my 6 digit pin, which my phone rejects. I have checked that I am entering the same pin, and then changed it just to see what happened, and the app store keeps saying that the pin is wrong. I don't have acess to any of my old apple devices, which is the only other option I seem to have, so I don't know what else to do. Warning it is a long one, I am writing from mobile and sorry if it has been asked before but some thoughts and or advise would be helpful or maybe a way I can provide feedback to Apple? I will Preface this by saying this is a space allocation issue on my device, unable to recover used space and NOT an issue in using or implementation of shortcuts. I have been using the short cuts app for a while on my phone over the past year nearly. During this time I have resorted my phone a few times, trying the beta's and other stuff. This issue is not about that part, but worth noting. I have had my phone steady in terms of running the current 14.1 to then 14.2 (non beta,standard release for around 6 weeks approx). I use the shortcuts app for mainly downloading YouTube videos to my photos gallery which can vary in size from 70 mb for a music video for example to a 3.6 GB documentary to 7 GB concert. I have the phone setup to store any content in the photos app to the iCloud, optimised storage, so that it is not kept on the iPhone. Once transferred I can then be rest assured that not much space is being used on the phone, checking the phone storage confirms this. I recently developed a shortcut that allows me to select what ever files I want from my photo gallery and then upload them to a specific folder - after that I can then go and delete. More fool me for not checking my iPhone space more often (iPhone 8, 64 GB UK Model) but recently I decided to install the the public beta for iOS 14.3 onto my device. Have used betas before on it, I know the pit falls with them, but it's not an issue with that. What happened was I downloaded the beta after installing the profile and it got to processing update then came up with a message along the lines of not enough space. A bit worried I checked the storage under general / settings and saw that 57 GB out 64 GB was used. Checked the apps that list underneath it and apart from a few games that where a couple of GB in size not many items where above 1.2 GB, all of which came to around 7 GB. I deleted the games etc and got the beta installed then I done a factory reset of the phone - after restoring from backup and got the games back on, my space is now sitting at 24.6 GB used - with loads more space. Still with the same apps on. Just under 40 gb of free space that I did not have before, magically appears. I am thinking that the shortcuts / files app I used for downloading the videos / transferring to cloud where still there even though I deleted them from device all together. Why would that be? Is there a temp or cache folder that shortcuts / files app use which I can view and delete the files? Or is it something else? Thoughts? [link] [comments]  |

| Posted: 22 Nov 2020 02:44 PM PST Hi all, I recently got my first iPhone. I am currently staying in a spot that has so-so wifi (not super strong). My brand new, bought-directly from-Apple, iPhone 12 mini consistently connects less well to the wifi (it either doesn't connect at all or it connects more slowly) as compared with my other devices. My 2015 Macbook Air has little issue (I might have to reset the wifi on the computer every so often, but that fixes it right away). More notably though, I currently have an old burner phone I was using in the interim while I waited for the iPhone 12 mini to arrive; this is a 4 year old, $20 full retail value, android phone that is very slow in operating system. And yet, the burner phone connects to the wifi no problem, and when simply refreshing Instagram or loading a text-only webpage (no video or music content playing), it outpaces the iPhone 12 every time. Is this an issue anyone else has experienced with the iPhone? (doesn't have to be the 12) Or is this a buggy issue that I should get checked out? Is there an easy fix? I sometimes travel to areas that don't have any cellular service and I have to rely simply on wifi, which oftentimes means the wifi in that area is clogged with everyone else using it, so I do need a phone with a pretty reliable ability to connect to meh wifi. The problem is that I bought the phone a long time ago and the seller doesn't remember whether a glass screen protector was pasted on this iPhone. But I'm not sure either, because I don't have anything to compare it to. Some experts say that yes, there's obviously a screen protector on my iPhone, while others say that this is a problem with the display. There is a strange backlit gap, like from a screen protector, but at the same time... is there a glass screen protector for iPhone X that covers the entire screen and even the front camera? The screen is all black and for about 20 minutes after the screen went all black the home button was still press able but now its not considering it was on low battery when i dropped it. I've tried charging it, I've tried restarting it but nothing is working and I'm not trying to spend a lot of money to get it fixed or buy a new phone. I'm getting an XR for about 45000 INR with an adapter and earpods and an 11 for about 52000 INR without an adapter and earpods. So XR= 45000 and 11= 56000 (4000 extra for adapter and earpods). I wanna be sure that the extra 11000 INR (150 USD) will be worth it. I use my phone mostly for communication, work related stuff, social media and 1-2 games.
