Apple Watch It might not look like a huge deal, but I’m only 14 years old and this was my hardest bike ride. I’m pretty proud of myself.

I’ll always be grateful for my parents for getting me an Apple Watch after being diagnosed with Type1 diabetes, it helped me a lot by motivating me to stay active.

Apple Watch saved my dad from serious injury (not in a way you might expect though)

Apple Watch saved my dad from serious injury (not in a way you might expect though)

My Dad was on the golf course when he heard a very urgent shout of "fore!" from the adjacent tee. He instinctively raised his hands to cover his face and a golf ball struck his Apple Watch. The force ripped the strap from the watch itself but the strap and the watch were undamaged and went back together.

If he didn't raise his hands the ball would have hit him in the face (I don't want to think what would have happened). If the watch wasn't there it probably would have broken his wrist. He had a red mark on his wrist and that was it, the watch took the brunt of it.

You can see the golf ball dimples on the strap.

He's very lucky. He went out an bought a lottery ticket but no cigar this time :)

Treated myself to the SE! I’m really enjoying the space gray and silver band aesthetic. What’s your favorite combination of band to watch colors?

The most underrated health feature: Hand Washing Timer

    Posted: 02 Nov 2020 07:00 AM PST

In my opinion, this feature is probably the most impactful for my personal habits (and I'm sure for others) and there's absolutely no way for Apple to have any flashy stories about it.

With all of the other health features of Apple Watch, there can be huge "saved my life" or "changed my body" stories that show the impact of the watch. There's just no way hand washing has any stories like that.

In my opinion, the Apple Watch hand washing feature has one of the biggest potential impacts of any feature on public health and that's great!

    Best Knockoff Braided Solo Loop?

    Posted: 02 Nov 2020 07:30 AM PST

Like many on this sub, I fell for the CRESTED braided solo loop that was actually a silicone band with a braided pattern stamped on it. I'm looking to buy some of these bands, but I also don't think they're worth $99 to me. What are the best third-party options you've found?
