Posted: 07 Nov 2020 08:57 PM PST i have an iphone 12, and i'm using it to watch a youtube video, while also playing some audio on mute on my old iphone 8. every time i start playing something on the old phone, it switches from playing through my iphone 12 to that one. they share the same icloud account, so forgetting the airpods on the old iPhone will forget them on the 12 too. | MacBook Pro 13 2016 - Can damage to your display hurt battery life? Posted: 07 Nov 2020 05:08 PM PST I purchased a used MacBook Pro 2016 Non touch bar off eBay. It works great, but I've noticed the battery life isn't even close to 10 hours more like 5 hours, even when only doing some web browsing and using Apple pages. The battery info under system info states that the battery is normal and only has 16 cycles (it was replaced under the keyboard program by Apple) It was from a bulk lot, that were deemed imperfect so scuffs, scratches, some had superficial cracks around the black edges of the screen. But the one I was perfect a part from a few scratches on the lid and bottom. But it has an imperfection on the display that you can only see when you have something darker displayed on the screen. And I'm wondering if it is possible, can it somehow draining the battery life a little faster than normal? It does have a slight issue on the back of the screen, but it doesn't affect the lid. At 7am the battery was 95% at midday it is 12% [link] [comments]  |

| Really annoying Imessage glitch with 14.2 Posted: 07 Nov 2020 12:19 PM PST Immediately after updating to iOS 14.2 the other day, my boyfriend asked me why i left his message on read. I didnt even know there was a message and there was no message in my notifications. I go to imessage and see that it does in fact show i have "read" his message, when i definitely did not. This has been happing almost everytime he sends me a message. I dont receive a notification or alert for it, and it falsely shows him that i left him on read. Very frustrating. He is not on iOS 14, hes on iOS 13. This is just one of the many issues my iPhone 11 pro has had since updating to 14. This update is the buggiest ios update ive ever had so far [link] [comments]  |

| Podcasts episodes not syncing between devices Posted: 07 Nov 2020 10:30 PM PST Can I sync individual episodes (not subscriptions) between devices. I am using Apple Podcasts on Mac OS (Catalina 10.15.7) and iPhone (iOS 14.1). On Mac Os, in Podcasts>Preferences I have enabled "sync subscriptions across devices". On iOS Settings>Podcasts I have "sync podcasts" enabled. However, when I download a single episode on one device or the other, it does not show up in the library of the other device. I am signed into both devices using the same Apple ID. Any suggestions? [link] [comments]  |
| MacBook Air Won't Fully Turn On Posted: 07 Nov 2020 06:32 PM PST I was using my Air, when everything suddenly froze. I shut the laptop and when I opened it, it turned to static. I shut down the laptop, and when it turned on, the loading bar went up the whole way, but nothing would happen. I tried going I to macOS recover, but it only worked twice and when I was in there, the rainbow pinwheel appeared, and wouldn't go away unless I shut down the computer. Using ios 12.4.8, the latest one for this device. Storage is fine, around 4GB of free space still, really not sure what could be causing this and have tried a lot of fixes that ive seen online but none work. Any suggestions are appreciated, thank you! [link] [comments]  |
| Posted: 07 Nov 2020 09:23 PM PST Took a very very brief dunk (caught it as it went in and immediately cleaned it off) screen functions fine, waited to charge as they recommend, speakers fine, holding a charge. However the home button won't work. I have the touch home button now so I don't necessarily need it however I'm worried damage occurred. The home button actually worked fine immediately after the dunk but about 20 minutes later stopped responding. Any thoughts? [link] [comments]  |

I've read that I should update it to clear the "other" storage, which is taking up about 23.3GB right now. The problem is, that storage is too big for me to update, I can't install iTunes on any of my computers, and everything I look up assumes I already have iTunes. Also, even if I delete everything on my phone, it still won't add up to enough. Any way I can clear up about 4GB out of Other without ITunes? [link] [comments]  |

| Posted: 07 Nov 2020 05:01 PM PST I just got a new Macbook pro 13" 2020 and it won't go to sleep when I close the lid or wake up when I open it. When I manually put it to sleep using the Apple logo the screen shuts off but I can still hear a notification when I get an e-mail or something. also, it gets a bit warm in the touchbar area. I tried resetting SMC and NVRAM and it changed nothing. In Activity Monitor I have something in the 'Preventing Sleep' column called knowledge-agent. it only appears when the MacBook is connected to power. When I run 'pmset -g assertion' I get: Idle sleep preventers: IODisplayWrangler Mac OS: 10.15.7 Edit: The only thing I have checked in Energy Saver is: Put hard disks to sleep when possible. But when I download it, it asks me for the password which I do know and it says my account is locked. (Mind you that my iPod and iPhone iclouds are not the same emails).
