Genshin Impact getting a bit dark

    Posted: 04 Oct 2020 01:27 AM PDT

MMO with building something together, like in Ark with bases or even LifeAfter manors and town defense?

    Posted: 04 Oct 2020 07:36 AM PDT

My gaming group prefers PvE content, some PvP is OK but hopefully relegated to PvP by choice (going to a region). We've liked in the past:

    • Working together to build bases in ark / survive
    • Working together to defend downtown during zombie attacks in LifeAfter
    • Building up our own manors in Lifeafter
    • Crafting different equipment and progression in games
    • Persistent worlds we can log into at any time from wherever (so no same network or hosted on one iPad type games)

What doesn't work as well fo this group's tastes are:

    • They prefer 3d so not sure any 2d games will work
    • Anime / cartoony art styles
    • Minecraft or OSRS graphics are a turnoff
    • Forced PvP....so full loot games or games that make you go to PvP area (null sec in Eve for instance) are probably not going to fly

I've downloaded to try before suggesting the group a bunch of MMOs, but it takes hours sometimes to find out if they have house or base building, general working together as a guild/group, etc. elements or are just fetch quests so though I'd ask here.

If it matters, the ones I've downloaded to try are Villagers and Heroes, AQ3D, Celtic Heroes, World of Kings, Perfect World, Era of Legends, StoneAge World (looks too cartoony though), and IcarusM (looks too anime though). I have a feeling some of these games may be dying, but who knows.

Any thoughts, either from the games I've already downloaded or others?

    Your favorite portrait mode games?

    Posted: 03 Oct 2020 07:24 PM PDT

At night I like to be able to play some games in bed. Easier to play in portrait mode. If I can do it with one hand even better.

Edit: I literally posted this and went to bed, thanks for all the responses!

    Posted: 04 Oct 2020 05:27 AM PDT

So I have been playing Genshin Impact on my iPhone Xs and looks like it is stuttering. Not sure if you guys are also facing this issue. There are no apps running in the background.

Looking for an old game (like iPad 1 type old probably) where you're a frog trying to advance higher and higher and not hit the bottom of the screen

    Posted: 04 Oct 2020 12:10 AM PDT

It is not Froggy Jump, I think every game started with you flinging the frog upwards using a slingshot but I could be wrong.

Can we just take a moment to look at this madness...

Razer Kishi, impressions after another week.

    Posted: 03 Oct 2020 03:29 PM PDT

I think this is by far the best controller ive owned for a phone.... I've owned ipega, tons of Chinese no name controllers with clips, Xbox and ps4 controller with a clip.

My set up : using an iPhone se2020 with smart battery case. I removed the rubber grip that usually holds the phone and it fits just about perfect. There is a bit of wiggle on the left but it's not an issue.

Build quality : I know this has been controversial but I think this thing is very ingenious. It looks really nice when folded and it feels pretty sturdy. You probably won't want to keep this in your pocket so you won't damage it but it definitely fits my pocket lol. The buttons are clicky and they don't get stuck. The r1 and l1 feel similar to the switch buttons....the triggers eeeeeh. Really crappy imho but not game breaking. First of all they are mushy and loud as hell. They make this plastic on plastic sound that worries me a bit. There's been people reporting that they have damaged then already...Mine are still like new so can't comment. I've put like 20 to 30 hours on them already.

The sticks feel responsive with reasonable sensitivity. The dpad is okay. I've been playing spelunky 2 and blasphemous on it and never felt like I died because of it. It does intermittently make some squeaky sounds

The pass through charging works great too.

Games : I've used it on several Apple arcade games : samurai jack, last camp fire (amazing game),monster expedition (great game!), slash whatever that just came out, and marble knights. In all these games it works flawlessly.

I also won 2 battle Royale matches last night on CODM. CODM has half baked controller support but it worked just fine. A lot of actions need the touch screen so in a way this works better than an Xbox controller with a clip.

Aaaaand most of my use has been on Moonlight, steam link and stadia. For moonlight specifically this thing works like a charm. I've played 4 hours of spelunky 2, nex machina, 2 hours of assassin's Creed oddysey, like an hour or two of cod, risk of rain 2 and so many more games.

Conclusion : I think for the most part it performs a tad worst than an actual Xbox controller but the form factor makes up for it. I think the clip is in general a pretty crappy solution for mobile gaming, the phone being on top just makes for weird balance.

This is honestly the most fun I've had mobile gaming tbh. I still play like 90 hours a day of solitaire and grindstone but when i to actually game with a controller I'd rather use this 10 times over. My Xbox controller has been lonely since I got this thing. I really thing the biggest cons are 1) no official xcloud or geforce now support. Not sure if this will change or not.... 2) price is pretty steep. I think it would be worth it if we knew for a fact build quality would be long lasting...if it's just going to die in a a year that'd be kinda shitty.. I'll add questionable long lasting build quality to this bit as well... 3) how long does lightning have left? With rumors of the next big iphone upgrade not having any ports at all vs going to usb c...

I'm overall exceedingly happy with my purchase so far. Hopefully it doesn't break lol

    Single tap platformer games

    Posted: 03 Oct 2020 11:34 AM PDT

Any single tap parkour games with a similar feel of Leap Day. I enjoy Leap Day but it's a bit too simple and repetitive.

When will some games support iPad pros?

    Posted: 03 Oct 2020 01:07 PM PDT

For instance, the Room old sins or XCOM enemy within? Only a few devices still use the old form factor

[DEV] My first IOS Augmented reality app is on App Store - I need some advice

    Hi everybody,

I'm new in this group and I just finished and published my first game on the app store (first written by myself). I've seen that on Saturday I can promote myself :)

Actually, I need some help/advice. I have not idea how to promote it without a big budget. It is the first place when I have put info that the game even exists. Any advice on how/where I can promote my game will be very helpful.

If someone would like to see the game please search ap store "AR Red Frog" and name of the game is AR Animals (Mega Pack). - logo below

If you like it and want to test paid assets, please live a comment and I will generate a promo code.

If you like it and want to leave a review - I will be so happy. If you do not like and want to give me any suggestions, please live me a comment here and It will be very helpful.

    thanks

    Leszek

Any game with ambient "spaceship sound" like in Among Us?

    Posted: 03 Oct 2020 04:24 PM PDT

The sound is therapeutic to me for some reason. Feels cozy af. Reminds me of the childhood wonders.

Any other games with such sound as background noise?
