How do I "YouTube DJ" with Apple TV? Posted: 05 Oct 2020 08:59 PM PDT Just bought my first Apple TV (the 4k). My wife and I have always enjoyed taking turns queuing up various YouTube videos from each other's phones on the home Chromecast after connecting to it. We've tried to do this with the Apple TV but it seems like we can't use our phones for anything else when it's mirroring. Apple TV Audio Issues Posted: 05 Oct 2020 07:46 PM PDT For the second time in about 3 months, the audio on my Apple TV doesn't work. Video is fine. Unplugged/changed audio settings on TV and on the Apple device. Nothing is working. The last time this happened I had to do a factory reset. Any help? Can no longer control paired HomePod volume with ATV remote. Posted: 05 Oct 2020 02:06 PM PDT Ever since TVOS 14, volume control has been really strange on ATV for me. Previously I could just use the +/- buttons to control the volume of the stereo-set-up HomePods connected to my ATV. Now any time I try that it either adjusts the volume of the TV speakers or the receiver. If I got into settings>Remotes>>volume control I can turn that off, which is fine, but it still won't adjust the HomePod volume. The audio output is set to the HomePods. The navigation clicks, movie trailers in the TV app, and anything not in another app, only want to come out of the TV or receiver even when the output is HomePods. Once I start watching something (like on Netflix, HBO Max, ATV+) the audio does come out of the HomePods and I can control the volume of the HomePods. Any way to change this back to the way it was? Edit: When I posted this I was on TVOS 14.0.2 that came out today. I saw another post that seemed similar and someone said the 14.2 beta seemed to fix this so I updated but no luck for me. To give you an example of the odd behavior. I scroll around the home screen, there are no clicks. I open the Netflix app, I don't get the opening DUN DUN sound. I scroll around the Netflix app, no clicks. Through all of this if I try to adjust the volume it adjusts the TV/sound bar. If it turn it up high enough you can now hear the clicks because anything that isn't actual media will only come out of the TV/sound bar. Emulators not working....MetalKit? Posted: 05 Oct 2020 05:45 PM PDT Hey all, so I am trying to load Provenance onto my AppleTV 4th gen yet I am having some issues loading it with Xcode. I get some mention "OpenGLES is depreciated. Consider migrating to MetalKit instead." This is for all the emulators that come in the program. Has anyone encountered this and worked it out??
