Posted: 25 Sep 2020 02:44 AM PDT I have a huge issue. I imported all of my music from a now backup hard drive to a new hard drive which I use for my Catalina computer. All of my music was imported successfully but when i went to import it to Apple Music, some didn't import. And when I went to check out my music folder on the external hard drive, some files were gone from there too! This is very concerning and I cannot find any answers even remotely close to my problem. Please help. Also bring back iTunes please and thank you. [link] [comments]

Posted: 25 Sep 2020 12:36 AM PDT I've got a MacBook Air 2017. It might be the case that it's a coincidence that this slowing down happens right after the upgrade but, what are my best choices as of now? [link] [comments]

Student in need of fixing computer Posted: 24 Sep 2020 06:58 PM PDT Hello! I'm in a bad situation with my MacBook Pro right now. I was in the Big Sur beta, but spotlight began to loop with its indexing and continued to use cpu resources. I decided to get off of the Big Sur beta and go back to Catalina. I have a Time Machine backup going back to July when I was still on Catalina. I created a bootable Catalina USB drive and installed the OS after wiping the OS drive. When the computer was done installing, I saw a screen saying this Kensington church was requiring remote management. I've never heard of this place and I never had this happen on my Mac before. Basically, I no longer have admin privileges of the Mac that I own. I can't even use migration assistant to restore my previous back up. When I go to restore time machine backups in Cmnd+R, it says there aren't even any backups to load from which makes zero sense. I have no idea what to do and I'm freaking out. I NEED this computer for school, I'm in engineering and in the middle of midterms. Update: I have the IT number for the organization this remote management is tied to. It's not business hours right now, so they weren't available. [link] [comments]

Use/Navigate Recovery Mode on external display with 2012 iMac w/ dead screen Posted: 24 Sep 2020 09:29 PM PDT My screen is dead and cost a few hundred to repair so that is out of the question. I have been using my iMac for some time now with an external display that mirrors what should display on the iMac screen onto my external via a Display Port to DVI cable. I would like to go into Recovery Mode and reset everything, but when I reboot and get there the external display will not show what is on the broken screened iMac as it usually does. How can I fix? thanks in advance [link] [comments]
Mojave Dynamic Login Wallpaper Posted: 24 Sep 2020 08:52 PM PDT My 2017 Macbook Pro (10.14.6) uses the dynamic Mojave background on Desktop 1. A blurred version of that is thus used as the login screen wallpaper. However, when rebooting my laptop said wallpaper is displayed in the state it was in before the machine shut down i.e. if I shut it down at 10pm, upon turning it on at 8am the blurred background at the login screen will be of the desert at 10pm. This is super annoying, because every time I turn it on in the morning I'm presented with a dark login screen corresponding to when I shut it off the previous night. After I login and logout again, the properly corresponding image is displayed. Is this inherent to dynamic wallpapers, or is there a setting somewhere I forgot to proc? [link] [comments]

Posted: 24 Sep 2020 01:33 PM PDT I have a 2012 Mac mini that won't support the new Mac OS. My mini still runs great and I have no need to upgrade other than the fact it won't support the new OS. I have an iPhone with iOS 14 and want to make sure everything syncs and works together nicely. Does anyone know of any issues that may occur if my phone is iOS 14 but my Mac mini is Carolina? (I also have a MacBook Air that would have Big Sur - if that affects anything) So do I need to buy a new Mac mini or ok as is? Thanks! [link] [comments]

Microsoft Teams - Camera/Mic Problem but not for all user accounts on the same iMac?? Posted: 24 Sep 2020 03:56 PM PDT Hoping someone can help, keep coming up with dead ends on my research so far... I've got Teams installed on my iMac and it works fine on my main account (let's call that one Bob), camera, mic all fine. Switch to another account on the same Mac (let's call that one 'Tom') but neither mic or camera work. Checked permissions in Security and Privacy, on Bobs account, Teams is there and checked but on Toms account the app doesn't appear in the lists for camera or mic..
I'm running Catalina on a 2010 iMac (using the DodDude patch) so it's maybe that isn't helping things??? I've got Windows 10 on there and it works fine as a fallback but I've only recently taken the leap across to MacOS, going back to Windows seems like a massive step backwards. [link] [comments] |
