- Colored cursor keeps appearing when watching video on full screen. Sometimes even the dock pops up, they disappear until I move the mouse. It happens several times, I’m running Big Sur right now but it has been happened since Catalina and maybe Mojave. Mine is an iMac 5k 2017, 32 RAM.
- I think Catalina update 10.15.7 has reduced my MacBook Air’s performance

| MacBook Air (2015) keeps shutting off randomly Posted: 25 Sep 2020 09:52 PM PDT At about 4PM today, I downloaded and installed the new High Sierra security update. After it was installed, my computer kept randomly shutting off. I called Apple Support, and they instructed me to update to Catalina, so I did. The problem is still occurring. My computer only works when it's plugged in. I don't know what to do. I've tried resetting the CMC and PRAM (like the internet says). Is the security update responsible? I still find myself constantly having to change the mic from the airpods to the built-in mic and then changing the channel for the airpods from 1 ch 16-bit to 2 ch 32-bit. | Can't enable "Use Apple Watch to unlock apps and your Mac" (even with a new Watch) Posted: 25 Sep 2020 08:36 AM PDT I just got this watch yesterday and yet I'm just miffed that I can't get my new Watch (SE) to interface with my Mac for this feature. I've done all the usual things like cycling on and off the Wi-Fi, bluetooth, etc, and yet it still doesn't work. I'll click on the checkbox for it, enter my password if need be, and then after some time of it giving me the spinning wheel and "turning on..." it'll then give me a message that says "Your Mac was unable to communicate with your Apple Watch. Make sure that your Apple Watch is unlocked and on your wrist and your iPhone is unlocked." All of these conditions are true, yet it is just flat out refusing to turn on. Any suggestions? Also, even though I've unpaired my old watch from my phone, it'll still show up under my Mac's system preferences under the "Use Apple Watch to unlock apps and your Mac" option. Not a huge deal, but more of an minor annoyance than anything. I remember the last time this happened, it just went away on its own, so if it does, great, but if not it's not the end of the world. | how images/videos are displayed in finders icon-view Posted: 25 Sep 2020 03:22 PM PDT i have a good amount of images - i want to delete every image that has a certain type of content. now usually i have the list-view. for this task, i figured, the icon view would be better, with the slider on the bottom right cranked up so i can see the image without having to double click and open it in preview to see it properly. so far so good - but why in gods name does the grid expand horizontally when i make the icon size slider up? is there a way to set it up so that it only displays images as wide as the window is, and only extends horizontally? if i have 500 images, i dont want to scroll down 20 rows and also to the right 20 columns or so. it should just make as many columns as it can fit in the width of the current finder window and make it vertically scroll as much as needed. is it just me or is that monumentally stupid? or am i stupid here? I am finding that it consistently pops up on a different desktop or monitor than the main view, regardless of whether I have it in fullscreen or windowed mode, and it's a real pain.
