    Half of screen is static, came out of nowhere, anyone know what this is or how to fix ? Have tried unplugging all cables but nothing like that seems to work

    Should I still get Apple TV if I have a smart Samsung tv?

    I feel this is a question that gets asked a lot, so my apologies if so.

    I feel my Samsung tv does not work to the best quality I expected it to. I feel the movements are somewhat slow and some of the apps take a bit to load. Is it really worth the $150-$200 for Apple TV when I already have a smart tv? Should I just suck it up and deal with what I have? Are there any features that I get that I would not from my smart tv?

    Sorry for a potentially redundant question, I just don't know much about it.

    New annoying pause behavior with TV os update.

    Anybody else experiencing this and figured out how to stop it? When I leave something paused and the screen saver stop it unpauses and plays in the background. It's happen in YouTube, Disney +, Prime, and Hulu so far.

    ATV4K just downloaded all of the Aerial screensavers?

    Not a complaint - merely curious if anyone else has encountered this. Still on tvOS 13, haven't updated yet. I've got my automatic downloads for the Aerial screensavers set to daily. Yesterday I had somewhere in the ballpark of a dozen of the screensavers loaded on my AppleTV. Today when I got home from work and turned it on, I had significantly more. I ended up counting out of curiousity, and I counted 89 (Which I believe is one short of all of them?) Has anyone experienced this or do you know why this would happen overnight like that?

    HDMI-CEC Help

    Just got an AppleTV to replace a Firestick, and the only thing I like better about the Firestick is it would turn my tv on and off. Why does the HDMI-CEC work with the Fire remote and now the Apple remote? Help please.

    New Update to TVOS 14 Negatively Impacting WiFi?

    So after I updated to TVOS 14 my WiFi connectivity has become terrible for my Apple TV. I have 200Mbps internet. The router is 5ft away from the Apple TV 4K. Everything else that's on WiFi is normal. Smart TV= 170Mbps, Xbox One X= 166Mbps, iPhone 8= 230Mbps, my daughter's Apple TV 4K all the way in her room gets ≈ 230Mbps (has not been updated yet).

    It's bad. I'm getting less than 10Mbps. Just now ran Speedtest and getting .8 Mbps 😂. I've already factory reset the thing and it's still terrible. Anyone else experience this after the update?

    Add the ability to skip Intros!

    If Netflix can incorporate a skip intro function in their busted up UI... how in the world has iTunes note put it in theirs?! I need to skip the intros to Friends and The Office before I lose my mind.

    Buy now or wait?

    I'm moving into a new apartment and want to get my first Apple TV soon. I'm seeing conflicting reports and rumors on just how soon the next generation is coming (later this year or 2021). Is the current 4K model good enough to get now, or do you think it'd be worthwhile to wait for the next generation?

    How to set up a Apple tv 3rd generation without remote?

    I have just bought an Apple TV 3rd gen without a remote. I have restored it through my mac, connected it to the TV, plugged in the ethernet cable and I am stuck at the screen with language choice.

    The screen says to touch it with my iOS device (with bluetooth on, connected to the same network) and it should automatically set up, but my Xs and 7 (both on iOS 14) do nothing. The ATV doesn't appear on the remote app as well.

    Is there any other way to do this? I don't have a bluetooth keyboard.

    I have already ordered a remote, but wanted to use the ATV before it arrives.

    ...and still no 4K/HDR. At this rate we'll be on tvOS 15 before we see Youtube 4k, lol. Google apparently is in no hurry.

    Equipment - LG B8 Oled Klipsch RSB 11 Sound bar Apple TV 4K

    So all communicate well with each other except sometimes when I use the control center remote instead of the Apple remote app downloaded from the App Store. The volume control becomes unresponsive for all remotes(including physical Apple one too).

    Turning CEC off and on from tv and/or sound bar will not correct. If I go to the settings for remotes on Apple TV I can see it switching from IR to HDMI when troubleshooting.

    The only fix is to power cycle all three components at the same time.

    Just wondering if anyone else has had a similar issue? Are there differences in how the control center remote vs the downloaded one from the App Store and the physical remote?

    For now I suppose I will avoid control center remote and stick with the app for volume control.
