- Since updating all decimal points have changed to comma’s and I’m unable to use certain apps because I need the decimal point! Any ideas guys?
- Any way to remove the text box on apple carplay? Couldn’t find anything on CarPlay settings on phone or car screen.
- Can a 1TB external SSD be used to backup a 1TB MacBook Pro, assuming the MacBook Pro is not completely filled up?

The MacBook did not. Right now it appears UPS lost the package and is conducting an investigation, however, because I authorized it for delivery at door(I wanted to stay contactless). All was well on the tracker and even saw my package was still good to go on the day of delivery. I stayed home all day, watched from the window, and no UPS van passed the entire day, and package was delivered to god knows where. I don't mind this lesson not authorizing delivery, but not when a 1200 dollar laptop is the price. Its been almost two weeks and I'm less than enthused anyone will refund or help me. Already opened a claim with UPS, but after calling apple repeatedly they got nothing for me. I'm SOL because UPS won't refund me and apple is telling me to contact local law enforcement. Anyone else ever found themselves in a situation where your apple product didn't come, and if so what did you do? [link] [comments]  |

My phone just like won't. All of a sudden, it won't open apps or shut down. The buttons work but it just refuses to bring up the shut down screen. I turned off every app I could and then realized for some reason a zoom call from yesterday still hadn't ended. It won't end which I feel like is the reason. | Running out of ideas (Macbook booting problem) Posted: 23 Sep 2020 02:03 PM PDT Today my Macbook 2011 has entered a bootloop. Ordinary boot is out of the table, as it loops after the gray apple screen. Recovery (cmd+r) mode doesn't work. I have tried using a bootable USB. I press alt and I select the USB. Again, after some time charging, again boot and loop. The thing is I can actually enter the computer in safe mode, but I don't know how to solve it from there, as I can not reinstall the OS without recovery or usb boot. Any ideas? Important fact: My battery has been dead for a long time. I need the cable plugged in order to turn the macbook on and function. I don't reallly know if it may be a relevant issue, but since I can enter safe mode without any problems... [link] [comments]  |

| Posted: 23 Sep 2020 09:19 PM PDT I was just vibin and when i picked up my phone my face id just stopped working i tried to rest it and all it says is lower/raise iphone and when i do it just repeats and I troubleshooted and nothing seemed to work and i told apple about it and they said to get it checked out and possibly fixed it would be $555.60 and that was just ridiculous if anyone will help me and try to fix it i will be greatly appreciated (ps i have tried to restart my phone and reset everything) [link] [comments]  |

| Spilt water on 2017 15” MacBook Pro, looking for new replacement w/ similar or better specs Posted: 23 Sep 2020 09:01 PM PDT So I accidentally spilt water on my 2017 15' MacBook Pro. The damage is pretty extensive. Some of my keys aren't backlit, specifically the "a" and "6" keys. The "e" key also doesn't always register when I press it and sometimes it will register a double press. The biggest issue is the screen, it will flicker all along the screen and there is a water spot in the bottom right corner of the screen. I don't have any warranty whatsoever, so it looks like I am going have to buy a new one. I am looking into getting one with similar specs, and preferably new, as that's how I like to buy my Apple products. I do realize that they no longer make the 15" MacBook Pro, so I would be looking into a 16" version. Here are my current specs: 2017 15" MacBook Pro Processor: 3.1 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7 Memory: 16 GB 2133 MHz LPDDR3 Graphics: Intel HD Graphics 630 1536 MB Storage: 1 TB Again I'm trying to get something new 16" since Apple doesn't make the 15" anymore, and one with similar or better specs as my current on. | Replacing 27” iMac hard drive - do I need a thermal sensor/temperature sensor? Posted: 23 Sep 2020 08:44 PM PDT Hello all, I have a 27" 2013 iMac that wasn't getting much use pre-quarantine. Once we began staying at home, I brought it out and started using it for work. To make a long story short, I bought a SSD and hard drive enclosure, and am currently booting off of that SSD (connected via USB) externally. It's working great, and much snappier than the stock HDD which I believe is getting ready to throw in the towel. I nonetheless would like to have this SSD housed internally. I have explored different options for replacing the drives and am looking into doing the work myself. I've purchased the enclosure (2.5" to fit in 3.5" slot) I need and am in the process of ordering the small items I also need (torx screwdrivers, spudger, service wedge, etc.). My question, though: in a few of the iFixit walkthroughs, I see thermal sensors/temperature sensors mentioned. Is this a must for replacing the original HDD with a SSD (Samsung 860 EVO)? They aren't always recognized on facetime calls either, but work for other things like youtube or netflix videos. I have to manually change the audio output to my external headphones - and this sometimes confuses the macbook I suppose. It freezes at times and I am unable to switch any audio devices, and I end up having to restart my macbook. In this case today, I accidently hit the siri button on the touchbar, and it tried to play the sound on the macbook speakers even though I have wired headphones already plugged in. It then froze my facetime call, and I couldn't hear anything. Call failed and I tried to switch my output to my wired headphones, but it wasn't responding. I ended up having to restart my laptop - but after the restart, it crashed on the login screen. It sent me this error message: I also notice a frequent issue with bluetooth headphones like my Airpods. Sometimes, there is a weird robotic sound that other people can hear when I use them. It also happens to me when I am talking to others on facetime and they have a 2019 macbook pro as well. [link] [comments]  |

| iPhone 7 only focuses on close Objects Posted: 23 Sep 2020 03:48 PM PDT I bought a used iPhone 7 32GB that was updated to iOS 14. It's working perfectly and the battery was replaced (by Apple). Still, i do have an issue with the camera. It seems it can't focus on anything farther than ~30cm. A close up is no problem, but if i try to focus on my clock on the wall it won't find focus and the yellow box keeps appearing. The same happens if try to focus on a plant that's across the (small) room. What's causing this? The lens is clean and i rebooted it a few times. [link] [comments]  |

I've also just received a message that I may not have enough disk space when I try to save a Word document. I restart my computer regularly. Recycle bin is empty. | Posted: 23 Sep 2020 07:30 PM PDT I can't believe this shit. My iMac decided, out of the blue, to freeze today. Upon rebooting, it can't find the hd partition at all. Unplugged all peripherals, no dice. Reset PRAM and SCM, nothing. It boots directly to disk utilities, where it only sees the base system and an external drive I use for backups. If I reboot with the external drive unplugged, I get the folder with the question mark so I can't even boot up! Booting in recovery mode shows an apple APFS partition in disk utilities, but when I try to use a backup, it can't see this partition to let me recover the disk. I use this iMac for work everyday, so I'm completely screwed if I can't figure this out, especially since I can't even access the backups because restore can't find a destination. Please if anybody can offer some solution to at least let me get my documents back I would be immensely grateful. This is an iMac from 2016 or 17 (can't even check that) running high Sierra I think also, my hard drive was only 50% full...how can everything be gone without warning? I wanted to make the 500 GB my default hard drive however, it won't go through. I've tried everything and now I can't even download the bootcamp assistant. Does any one know how to fix this error?
