Looking for games with a bit of depth and content

    Posted: 08 Aug 2020 04:39 AM PDT

I'm tired of games that are nothing but the same thing repeating and full of mtx and ads interrupting play. Remember Infinity Blade? #Sworcery? Or Epoch and Pocketgod? Something that actually has content and isn't just hitting a button or repeating the same gesture over and over.

    Looking for a game

    Posted: 08 Aug 2020 04:45 AM PDT

Hi, I am looking for a game where you try to defend a small island from pirates (I guess). It's round based and kind of the tower defense game.

[Dev] Fun wordgame app - find words and anagrams from 7 letters (for English and German)

    Posted: 08 Aug 2020 06:32 AM PDT

I started this as a side project when lock down started: I really enjoy the NYTimes Spelling Bee game and wanted to have a version for other languages.

For those of you who don't know the game: you are given 7 letters, one of them in the center. Now you need to find all words with a min of 4 letter and the center letter must always be used. Letters can be used multiple times. And every game contains at least one anagram (all letters in one word).

After a few iterations I ended up with a simple clean design and focused on fast loading times for games, without requiring an internet connection: https://apps.apple.com/app/id1522151931

I have seen a few other versions of this by now out there, but they are either loading really slow, generate the games online or didn't care too much about having good letter and dictionary combinations so you end up with a lot of obscure words.

There is a few things on the backlog: "game of the day", game rewards, ability to submit missing words, and some more configuration options (dark mode on/off, vibrate on/off, ...). What else would you add or change? For which language would you like to see this?

Apple made iOS the worst mobile platform to game on by trying to make it's name in the gaming industry

    Posted: 07 Aug 2020 12:59 PM PDT

    https://www.ign.com/articles/project-xclouds-ios-testing-has-ended-and-it-puts-in-question-its-future-on-apple-devices

Apple is just showing everybody that iOS is the worst place to game by restricting Gamepass on iOS. They're trying to make a way into the gaming market, but they're just limiting the potential to game on their devices, and pushing away the hoards of people who are on the edge of switching to android. Not to mention their need to approve content BS is so obvious. What about Stadia, Netflix, YouTube or any other streaming platform with an iOS app?

    An ancient city builder/management game?

    Posted: 07 Aug 2020 02:38 PM PDT

I've been having a terrible time finding a game I can get into. Being stuck at home for months, I feel like I've long-since tried everything. Anyway, I've been thinking of games that I liked over the years to get some inspiration for what to search. I recall that I really liked a city building/management game from back in the 1990s. I don't remember what it was called, but you started off as governor of a backwater Roman settlement and worked your way up from there. I remember the game constantly saying, "Plebs are needed!" I think I could get into something like that again.

    Some considerations:

I would prefer a premium game over an IAP game.

I would like it to be single player and not some pvp empire game.

I don't want a modern SimCity game with skyscrapers. Would prefer Roman, etc.

    Thanks so much!

Games Similar to Tap Titans 2

    Posted: 07 Aug 2020 04:21 PM PDT

I've enjoyed a lot of tapping games, including Cookie Clickers and Tap Titans 2, however TT2 is getting a bit boring for me currently and I'm trying to find similar types of clicking games but most of what I find is either last updated over a year ago, or 6 months ago, and rarely has any players playing.

Do you guys have any recommendations?

Looking for a game, any genre, that is less pay to win and more skill that I can sink time into and get good at. Any suggestions?
